- If you easily get seasick and your trip includes winding stretches, chances to feel motion sickness are higher while travelling by van than by bus. Take your medicine half an hour before your trip to be on the safe side.

Collected on time from hotel & arrived only approx 1 hour late. Driver was under pressure at final pick up as he had full contingent of passengers & had to juggle us & our luggage. He did a good job, kept his cool & we arrived safely

We found the pickup location easily and checked in totally fine. Service was on time and the driver was speedy but safe. We made a stop halfway for the toilet, drinks and snacks. I think we were a little late arriving but that was jut traffic arriving into Chiang Mai at rush hour, so keep that in mind when booking at particular times and if you’re coming into a busy city. The van was old but comfortable enough for the journey, a newer van would be nice to offer on these services.

Let’s start with that we arrived at destination (Chiang Rai bus terminal) 1 hr 45 min late vs. scheduled. This is because: van was 1/2 hr late for pickup and we made 4 stops totaling 1 hr 40 min vs. scheduled 1 stop of 20 min. Zero organization, no concept of time at all! To top it off they sent an email that you should be ready for pickup 50 min prior to scheduled time. So, I waited 1 hr 20 min in hotel lobby.

Because our hotel was far away of the starting point we had to book another taxi to this place. Trying to contact them in person was not possible because it was to crowded with people in their office. Most of them were renting a motorcycle which takes a long time.

the driver was really driving too fast. We didnt had problems on the way to get to pai from chiang mai, but the way back, terrible, he also seemed the whole time super nervous. So was not really a nice experience in total.

Professional and almost flawless. More communication about the pause in English needed, I know a bit of Thai but not everybody can understand it. More legroom would also be appreciated.

Driver made everything nice and easy, definitely a windy road but driver tries their best to straight line some of the windy bits when there’s no other traffic making the drive a bit more tolerable. Van is comfy, air conditioned and not completely rammed. Place for bags on the back and under seats. Would definitely use AYA again !

Organisers in the reception were rude and unhelpful, I was charged 100baht for a medium suitcase even though other passengers had much bigger and heavier backpacks, agreed drop off location in chiang mai was not adhered to and messed up my connecting transport

Driver drove like crazy. Always overtook in sharp curves with almost zero visibility. But we arrived on time and made it in one piece back to Chiang Mai.

My husband and I were last to be picked up at about 9.20 so unfortunately had to sit separately. The van was comfortable, I think the driver stuck to speed limits! He did fiddle a lot with his phone though. I appreciated the toilet stops, especially at the white temple :)

Okay seats, air con was on and even got a bit chilly later on in the journey. We had a 15 minute stop about half way before getting to the more windy roads. Driver was nice and the drive was fine. Driver arrived about 10 minutes early to the bus terminal so we set off to pick up other passengers from their hotels.

Van was on time and got us to our destination on time, that’s the main thing.
Old van which broke down for 10 or 15minutes early in our journey.
Driver was erratic and doing some of the craziest driving I’ve experienced in South East Asia. I appreciate they drive differently here, and also that the driver knows the road well, however we were passing all of the other mini vans which also have drivers which know the road. We were passing them on blind corners, down hills, in some of the wettest driving conditions I have seen. So dangerous. It was an experience, that’s for sure

The website was misleading. It was shared that we would be arriving at 12:30 but we ended up arriving around 14:30. The bus took three stops we didn’t know about. I think this information should be provided while booking.

Driver didn’t stop when one of us needed to throw up, also the minibus did one hour tour inside chiang mai to pick other people, which wasn’t said before we bought the ticket….

Although we booked well in advance, pickup could only be arranged directly through the agency, not through the booking itself. It turns out the agency also offers hotel pickups in the city, and even though the instructions said to arrive 30 minutes early (which we did), we were informed that the van first stops at multiple hotels to collect other passengers.
As a result, we had no choice of seats and ended up waiting a full hour — literally on the clock — about 30 minutes past the scheduled departure time, until the entire round of pickups was completed. The van itself wasn’t very comfortable either, with three people squeezed into a narrow seat, which made the winding road to Pai quite unpleasant.

They charged us 200 baht extra for two suitcases even though they were smaller than other people's backpacks. They told us they don't do hotel pick up and they picked someone up from their hotel on the way. They dropped someone off as well. Because of this we didn't get to make a stop on the way for the toilet or a stretch.
