It was so damn cold. It felt like 16-17 degrees. However, I slept like a Baby. And such a night train is just awesome from a time Perspective (not Llosing too much). Would do again.
We will just remember to put on some more cloth.
Oh and better ask for the prices of food and beverages on the train. They are quite expensive.

Ik heb deze trein al vaker genomen van bangkok naar chaing mai en andersom. Ongeveer 4/5 keer totaal.
Elke keer prima ervaring mer 12go nooit problemen. De trein zelf is altijd op tijd en schoon. Personeel in de trein is heel vriendelijk. Het enige nadeel is de airco die hard blaast.
Tevens was het voor mij niet mogelijk om een digitale ticket te krijgen. Het ophalen bij het hoofdkantoor in bangkok is helaas ook een nadeel

Too small bed for me, I am tall and also AC too cold but overall it was okay;) I would add some power socket in upper bed because there are some only very low and I couldn’t charge my phone.

Great. The building isn't as easy to find as it could be. There could easily be a stand in the station itself 2 hours before travel. One important thing to mention is that train staff don't tell you when your stop is coming up. Use google maps to prepare yourself. We were advised by 123Go that there wasn't food on the train due to COVID, but there were heaps of vendors.

Loved the train. They keep the lights on so bring an eyemask. The toilets were clean and the beds comfi, although a bit small for european sized people (1.75m+). There was no possibility to buy food or drinks.

Great organising from the 12go office to ensure I had tickets ready in advance. Train was on time. it was clean and the man in charge of the carriage I was In was very helpful in making sure everyone was settled for the night. Enough privacy in 2nd class berth to get some sleep.

We booked our train tickets from Bangkok to Chiang Mai via 12Go and opted for train ticket delivery at our hotel. Impeccable service: confirmations both via WA CALL & EMAIL. Tickets were waiting for us @ our hotel when we arrived. Perfect!

Good affordable option, ticket collection straightforward, family enjoyed journey, but accept that this will never be the best nights sleep of your life! Conductor/commissar was outstanding!

Our night Train had 2,5 hours delay. Staff in the ticket center was not able to provide us with any reliable information when train will come. They had simply no idea. It’s a poor experience, especially when you’re travelling with a child as we did. The train arrived at night. Inside the train beds were well prepared. Staff in the train was nice.

I booked a full cabin for our daughter to travel overnight Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Booking and ticketing with 12GO was a breeze from the US. Quick customer support response by email from their end to answer any questions I had and to confirm that I really did want a full cabin. FYI, full first class cabin is really not needed, so probably would just book a single bunk next time. She had no issues with ticket pickup in Chiang Mai just before her travel and had a great experience. In her words: easy checkin, excellent help in getting my large baggage on and off and making sure I knew when to get off, comfy cabin, good blankets, made sure I went to get food before we left, absolutely beautiful. Would do it again.

Probably not 12Go’s fault but midway through our journey the train stopped and was delayed for 2 hours which caused us to miss our boat at Surat Thani. However the service from 12Go was very helpful.

great ride to Chiang Mai... Good service especially at Don Meuong, an officer noticed I was looking like I'd lost my dog, approached me and had me follow him to the parcel office to give me my tickets, this was afterhours so I was particularly grateful, as the phone in that office had never had anyone pick up though I'd called several times to try and arrange a late pick up. Not just that, but when I noticed this issue about the parcel office being closed I was about to board the plane for bangkok, I opened up a service request on the 12go site, and had an answer with a phone number and twoo solution possibilities within minutes, it cannot have even been ten minutes. Thank you 12go!

It was great booking with 12go. The train from Bangkok to night train to Surat Thani was quite comfortable. But it gets quite cold at night with the AC. We had about 2 hours delay to Surat Thani. I was told that it was normal. I would highly recommend both 12go and the sleeper night train.

Nice easy journey, the train was an hour late getting in, but for a 13hr journey that isn't a massive difference.
Our first class cabin was extremely comfortable.
12Go were really helpful, and their office is very well placed.

Taking an over night train in Thailand is ok, I was able to sleep in the second class. It's not great luxury but it's doable. Often the best quality-price ratio taking into account time needed for the trip. Don't expect any services other than toilet. In all the stops people though come to sell food but you can also take your own picnic or eat before/after getting in the train. In the night train you get clean white sheets and a curtain to have some privacy!

This was probably the worst train ride I've had in Thailand so far, and I have had many. Overnight Express Train #13 from Bangkok to Chiang Mai... exhaust fumes were blowing through the air vents, I struggled to breathe. I speak Thai. I asked the conductor to switch on the fans, and he ignored my request. The train was 2 hours late arriving in Chiang Mai.
