Ưu điểm của đi tàu:
- Lợi thế lớn nhất của đi tàu hoả là không có việc tắc đường. Ngay cả khi vào giờ cao điểm, cuối tuần hay mùa nghỉ lễ.
- Có thể đặt vé tàu online dễ dàng - bạn không cần phải đến tận ga tàu mới mua được vé.
- Giá vé tàu thường khá “mềm" khi so sánh với giá vé máy bay cho cùng một điểm đến, và thậm chí tổng thời gian di chuyển thì tương đương nhau.
- Dù tốc độ di chuyển tàu hoả chậm hơn đi máy bay, thì các ga tàu hoả lại thường được đặt ở trung tâm thành phố, sẽ giúp bạn tiết kiệm được rất nhiều thời gian di chuyển do sân bay thường đặt rất xa trung tâm.
- Đi tàu đêm sẽ giúp bạn tiết kiệm một đêm phòng khách sạn, và bạn cũng có thể dễ dàng ngủ ngon - ngược lại với xe khách đêm, đôi khi rất khó khăn để có thể ngủ trên xe khách.
- Đối với một số tuyến, các hãng tàu có cả dịch vụ cao cấp
Nhược điểm của đi tàu:
- Đối với các hành trình dài, đi tàu chắc chắn sẽ tốn nhiều thời gian hơn máy bay.
- Tàu thường khởi hành đúng giờ, nhưng cũng có trường hợp lịch tàu chạy bị thay đổi - và trong trường hợp đó thì giờ tàu có thể bị trễ rất lâu. Vậy nếu bạn lên kế hoạch cho một chuyến bay nối tiếp, hãy kiểm tra kỹ thời gian tàu vào ga và cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng.
- Vệ sinh trên khoang tàu có thể là một vấn đề đối với khoang hạng hai hoặc hạng ba, và cả nhà vệ sinh.
- Nếu tàu bạn chọn có nhiều điểm dừng, đôi khi bạn sẽ gặp khó khăn để xác định ga xuống, vì có thể các điểm dừng không được thông báo rõ ràng hay không có bảng thông báo hiển thị trên tàu.

Debbie GChuyến tàu khá tốt, nhưng nếu chỉ có hai người thì tôi khuyên bạn nên đặt khoang 4 giường. Hai mẹ con cùng khoang rất dễ thương nhưng người mẹ ngáy suốt cả chuyến đi. Thật tuyệt khi được giao lưu với các em nhỏ địa phương muốn trau dồi tiếng Anh tại nhà ga trước khi khởi hành.

Tiziano ZToa khá ồn ào và rung lắc. Giường thì cứng như đá. Chúng tôi phải đưa cho nhân viên soát vé 500.000 để ngăn anh ta không cho thêm hành khách vào toa của chúng tôi nữa. Chúng tôi không nhận được hóa đơn cho số tiền 500.000 đó.

Boris FSau tất cả những câu chuyện kinh dị về chuyến tàu đêm, thực ra nó khá thư giãn. Tất nhiên, nó không đạt tiêu chuẩn vệ sinh của châu Âu, nhưng vẫn ổn. Nếu bạn muốn di chuyển nhanh hơn, máy bay có lẽ là lựa chọn hàng đầu.

Louise LHighly disappointing. This is a very cheap and unorganised company. No ticket office, no waiting room, nothing. The service was very bad with no one speaking English. They don’t include the drive to your final destination if you go to sapa. No one is helping you with the luggage or welcoming you in the train and showing you your room. You just have to guess everything. Then a lady comes up asking if you want coffee in the morning without mentioning you have to pay for it and when you tell her that the next day she answers yes with a big smile as she knows what scam she is doing. Very cheap company for an expensive price it’s not worth it. And it’s not comfortable.

Brad WIf you’re visiting Vietnam you must do this. Travel overnight, see some sights until it’s too dark, then off to sleep. We had a 2 x cabin and slept well with the clickity-clack and gentle rock and rolling of the train. Beds were comfortable. We LOVED it!!!

Status of trains arriving or departing in Ninh Binh. Only info on board was obsolete. Train was bumpy and people next to us was loud and watching tv at 3am yelling with tv volume very loud. Told them to be quiet and they moved to the next carriage. But that did not help. Luckily I had ear plugs. It was the worst experience ever.

LEE TI was worried when I booked the train ride as I was concerned over cleanliness. Many a times, what are sold online differs from what we book and get.
BUT I am very happy with the booking and thr ride. 1st time experience for my hubby and I and our kids. The cabin is spacious (i thought it will be crammed), there is space underneath the lower deck for all our 3 luggage with room for a 4th one. The covers on the beds are clean and fresh.
There are bottled drinks, biscuits, snacks and bananas for all 4 of us.
Charging of mobile phone is easy as long as you have an adapter and plug type charger.
Air-conditioning is weak for those on the upper deck.
Toilet is clean!!!
Overall, I would rate this experience a 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Jocelyn HIt was very good organised. We could leave the suitcases at the station before departure. So we webt into the centre of Hanoi. After that they helped you find everything to the train.
For me it was a 4 star range because the hobbeling during the ride was a little bit sickening making.
Overall very good!

Anahita GIt was a great experience to go on the sleepertrain. Really a recommendation. Funny to see the trainstreet from the train’s pov. However the bed is not super comfortable and the trainride can be bumpy/wiggly at times. So not the best quality of sleep.

Nicole SGreat train ride, but at the train station they scammed us wirh a shuttle bus from Lao Cau to Sapa. We paid way to much for a shared bus ride, where the bus driver even redused ro drive us to our homestay.

The right was comfortable and stuff from 12Go really took the time to find me in the busy station and hand over the tickets to me. Neetu GIt was a different and pleasant experience. The train was clean and the washrooms were cleaned multiple times during the travel. The AC was cold at certain times so the blanket provided is perfectly apt. The trains shakes a bit of course which could be difficult for some but we were mostly ok and we slept most of the night hours to feel much of it. Would surely recommend

Lara PWe booked on the VIP cabin and were not given the cabin we booked. We spoke to people who did get a cabin in vip part of the train and they paid the same and got what they asked for. We were give a 4 sleeper cabin with 2 single beds. The toilet was disgusting and dirty. It seemed they over booked the vip Avon and sadly we got the down grade with no refund!

Elena MThe driver stopped twice to pick people up and i ended up squished between two people. Too many people in a small car. We also had to change vehicle. I give it two stars because we arrived on time, but we were asked to leave 45 min before scheduled departure time.

Shobhit SSleeping was not comfortable. It was noisy. There should be some sound proofing or ways to cut down the noise. It impacts the next day of you haven’t slept well since we are on a holiday each day counts.

Martin SA lot of snacks (potato chips, cookie, nuts), a coke, a water. + Wet tissue. We had 2 bed VIP class cabin. The upper beds were just lifted up. Since the floor under the bed was really dirty (dust, used water bottles, used earplugs) we had to put our luggage on one of the upper beds. The toilet room of our wagon was really small. You have to put one leg each on one side of WC in order to be able to close the door. But the toilets in neighbor wagons were bigger, if not that large that a shower cabin could fit into them. The wagon was quite shaky in comparison to the Demitrans train that we took in the other direction.

Darren KIts great value for money for sure but the room is not sound proof at all. the neighbouring rooms are so noisy as they are drinking and talking loudly all night. Since we booked the VIP room (2 pax room) they informed us its sold out and gave use the 4 pax room instead (althought its still just the two of us and they did inform beforehand), but we think they should have more separation between guest if its not fully booked.
No water so the toilet stink.

Sascha SOn the voucher it was pointed out to pick up the tickets at gate 2a. That’s a false information. On any random time before departure an employee is seeking for possible guests and handed out the tickets.
No gate 2a. No hints about this procedure. No ticket counter existing. Just no right informations available in front of the ride.
The indicated „Deluxe“-Cabin was just a standard cabin only with another Arrangement of the beds.
The air-conditioning was a killer. Much too cold and without any chance to reduce the operating.
The personal just opened the cabin doors on her own. Even though it was locked from inside the cabin. And without any invitation. An absolutely no-go.

Michael ZDuring the train ride there was something nearly constantly banging and hammering against the train floor or walls, as if a part of the train was lose and now it was making those banging noises. The noise appeared so regularly and loudly that getting some sleep was nearly impossible. It could have been a nice ride because the rest was very good. But that noise really ruined it all.
