Carriage, compartment and definitely the toilet had seen better days. "VIP"? Not one bit.

There was nothing VIP about the cabin the bed is hard like a rock and the train is very bumpy also there was a light right above your head

Even though we originally booked 2 lower births in a cabin. After a couple of stops the guard insisted that I moved to the upper birth to allow a lady to have the lower one. But the upper birth was comfortable once I had managed to get up there. The guard knocked on the door to let us know that our station was next and directed us to our exit.

We had small problem in our booking. The operator solved our problem.

If you ignore the rough tracks the train is driving on, it’s perfect. But thats everywhere the same. With a sleeping pill the time flies. Everything was good, other companies have nicer wagons, but it was clean and we got small bags with bananas and water. So all in all it’s good to travel with.

The 4 berth on Livi is not as good as the 2 berth on Vietnam rail. Random people come in and out for different stops and the cabin door is a bit loose rattling on every move. The Livi operator just came and disappeared. No wifi available

Nothing like VIP … the place is just basic, not clean. The staff at the station was not aware of this kind of reservation. After 15 minutes and calling someone they gave me a ticket with a different coach number … don’t expect much… if you want a VIP treatment, book a premium car not the train!

It was ok, my bedsheet was itchy and the bathroom was not very nice.

The Staff are very helpful, my friend and I had the 4x vip sleeper to ourselves which made things a lot more comfortable! We both slept on and off, you kind of get use to the swaying and stopping and starting motion, it’s a little noisy so take ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper

The service was fine although navigating the stations was an interesting experience. The sleeping couches were not comfortable - very very thin mattress.

Bathrooms were disgusting, my cabin was nice and clean, but one woman was complaining of roaches in hers. It was an ok experience. Train was bumpy so was unable to get a good nights rest, but it could have been worse.

Very nice trip. The beds and room were tidy, blankets adequate. Nice free snacks and drinks.. Star of the trip was the scenery- Amazing. Toilet wasn't too scary by the journeys end. Hardest part was the confusion of checkin at Hanoi Train Station. But this was worked out by us and the rest was easy.

Het was niet duidelijk dat ik een man moest zoeken die mij het trein kaartje zou geven. Zeer onduidelijk!! De man was ook niet te herkennen, gewoon paars T-shirt. Met toeval op het laatste moment gevonden. Zeer stressvol

We travelled with Livitrans and on the voucher, there was written that the paper itself is a boarding pass. But the staff did not let us in. Luckily, we asked a lady in the near bistro (she was surprised as we were) and she called someone else who came with our tickets. It was one big chaos! The staff in the trained asked us if we want tea or coffee in the morning, but in the morning, they wanted us to pay for it. For comparison - from Hanoi to Lao Cai, we used Fanxipan Express and the morning refreshment was for free, beds were longer and air condition was fine. Air condition in Livitrans was really cold - people sleeping downstairs had to sleep in jackets and hats!

I really recommend it. Very comfortable way of transport. Everything was clean and perfect organised.

Train ran an hour and a half late, no bottled water supplied, wipes or snacks.....spoilt on first sleeper from saigon to nha trang.

Very clean and nice overnight trip.

We had a voucher four four people in a 4 person VIP sleeper. I went to the station the day before to try to get the actual tickets with cabin numbers but was told to return a half an hour before the train. We arrived an hour before and were told to wait and then someone ushered us through to the train with just the voucher. He was a helpful employee with no English but he got us to our cabin. The cabin looked fine but the teenage girls with us were freaked out by three different bugs going up the wall. Air con was nice and cold. It is great to leave from city centre in HCMC and arrive into the city centre of Nha Trang. We didn't see much scenery because we went overnight but previously enjoyed good views on longer routes. The toilets were very basic but functional.

Sleeper car looked absolutely nothing like the pictures and the cabin was clearly much, much older! However, linen was clean, room was also quite clean and had enough space for all the luggage. Air con was ultra high (which was okay for most, but got a bit too cold overnight). Train left and arrived on time. Was expecting (based on previous reviews)horrible toilets, but they were, actually, very normal!

I had a very nice trip on the train. The cabin was very clean and the attention was great. Very comfortable with AC. We left and arrived perfectly on time. Very good experience!

VIP x 4 sleeper was not as expected. Reasonably clean however loads of bugs everywhere including small cockroaches. 2 free bottles of water but no snacks. Mixed male and female and train ran almost an hour late. My standards were never high to begin with but this was slightly lower than expected. Also train does not just stop at Da Nang but multiple stops. Ensure to ask when you are arriving at your destination and set an alarm to wake you up around that time. It would be easy to miss your stop.

Not sure if the fault here lies with 12goasia or livitrans. As per many other reviews on tripadvisor this did not seem to be a livitrans service but a standard vnr train. Whilst I’m not bothered by this and the train was fine it was not as advertised and the communication about how to pick up tickets was awful. Just so people know you exchange the voucher at the desk in Da Nang station for your tickets...

great fun, fast friendly reliable service. comfy and clean and complimentary drinks and snacks on arrival waiting for you in your cabin.

As with other reviews, there was no Livitrans ticket place at HCMC. We had to ask platform staff for help. Carriage nothing like pictures and no different from standard despite paying extra. Small bottle of water and a face wipe was all that was provided. AC worked. Bring earplugs!

Journey was pleasant and train ran roughly to time. The only issue was boarding the train. Despite our printout from 12go stating go straight to coach 11 and the staff at the Livitrans desk in Hue station also saying go straight to train, we were nearly refused boarding due to the on board staff not understanding our ticket. We were allowed on and after around 10minutes the Livitrans rep on board ushered us to coach 9 and gave us our actual ticket. This actual ticket did not match the berth we were in or our passport numbers

The train ride was typical, the compartment we were in had A/C and if you kept the door shut you could keep out the cigarette smoke smell, however it was infested with small cockroaches. If you have the option to take a sleeper bus instead I highly recommend that route.

Compartment was simple but had sheets and covers, complimentary soft drinks and some biscuits. We boarded at Dong Hoi ( not Hue) but that went smoothly. Thanks GoAsia you have been so helpful with all our Vietnamese travel bookings. Highly recommended

Train departed and arrived on time. Cabins weren’t particularly clean and the toilets were horrible, although you could walk to other companies carriages and use the toilets

They either overbooked the train or had people in rooms they were not supposed to be in because there was not a room for us originally. It took some time to get worked out. Very noisy train.

What I expected,the train was ok very rough sheets, annoyingannouncements quite late at night. But the biggest and most avoidable problem is the voucher instructions very stressful people boarding train and you cant exchange ticket.a agent arrives kiar before but we did not know that was going to happen.

When I did the booking, I hadn't realised that I would receive only a voucher (without seat reservations) to change into a ticket at the train station, so when we arrived at Nha Trang, I was told at the desk to come back again 30 minutes before departure of the train. But since I didn't want to take the risk to end up with the upper benches in the compartment, I went to a different desk, and the staff noted the seat reservation in ballpoint pen on my voucher. When I returned 30 minutes before departure, I was given a scanning printout, so everything was fine in the end, if not a bit inconvenient. According to the display panel the train should leave from platform 2, but everybody told us to wait on platform 1. When the train arrived finally, we all crossed the tracks to board the train from the "wrong" side - a new experience. The compartment was okay (no cockroaches), but due to the air conditioning extremely cold in the upper benches (it must have been like 18 degrees Celsius). In the night the air conditioning stopped from time to time, so it was more bearable. In the morning there was an announcement via loudspeakers and by the conductor also to get ready for arrival at Da Nang. It was a good experience and I slept well during the night.

Brilliant Trip! Nothing like travelling in a train, beats a bus and plane and you get to meet and engage with other travellers, sleep, eat, view the countryside. If the journey is not just the destination, this is the way to travel, just Brilliant. Train was great, complementary drinks provided (bottle of Coke and water), steward service for most consumables, including a bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

Flight was delayed. But overall good service.

Excellent! Really clean and comfortable

Not luxury. But ok . No insects. Bed linnen was clean. Ac not working properly it was very hot during the night. No toiletpaper in toilet no cleaniglist there. Floors very dirty. Friendly staff and theride wen well.

train is dirty even though you get the vip class .. very narrow beds and i think the blanket is used by the previous passenger.. toilet is filthy.. service is bad.. no much food choices, better bring your own food you will get very hungry.

Very cold on top bunks. Please turn aircon down a touch! Toilets were as expected but could do with someone cleaning every other hour. Beds are quite hard for someone with a bad back!

Everything went well. The airline staff were very friendly and we had a smooth flight. Perfect!

We were not put in a livitrains carriage at all, just a normal one. We did not receive any free snacks or bottled water like promised. It was quite dirty but the sheets and pillow seems clean enough to sleep on at least. Bottom bunk was slightly cool, the people on the top bunks froze due to the air con being blasted. No toilet paper in the toilet so bring your own!

Vse probehlo v poradku, ciste pokoje, povleceni i zachody. Po zaplaceni vam prijde na mail voucher, ktery musite vymenit na nadrazi za listky na vlak. Ty vymenite v druhe nadrazni budove na ulici Tran Quy Cap. Staci ukazat voucher a oni vas nasmeruji k panovi, ktery vam preda listky. Nechodte do hlavni budovy nadrazi na ulici Le Duan, stejne vas poslou na vyse zminene nastupiste. Everything was clean and OK. You can exchange your ticket voucher into train tickets at “Tran Quy Cap” street. Do not waste your time to go to the main train station hall at Le Duan street ;)

Train was lovely. Very clean. Aircon wasn’t the best but definitely doable. We booked a 4 berth sleeper and it was fine. Bit of confusion at the ticket office over berths but all was sorted. Would definitely recommend for gettingvfrom Nha Trang to da nang.

Train was fine, but lacked some facilities found in the basic Vietnamese soft sleeper cabins. No USB charger and air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the night — very hot and humid journey

We presented the voucher at the desk and were given boarding passes no problem for our family of six. They looked after our bags for a small fee while we looked around Nha Trang as we had come from Da Lat. We had a compartment with four beds and another for that two of us had to ourselves. Yes the toilets were pretty average and there were a few little cockroaches but staff were so nice with the kids and it is an adventure not the Hilton so enjoy what was a great overnight to Da Nang for our family.
