pleasant cabin, good night's sleep, decent bathroom, friendly staff

The train ended up being very easy and comfortable. I didn't have to show the voucher and exchange for a boarding pass anywhere the staff recognised is and were happy with that. Initially they had me in a four berth bay by myself but then the train attendant said that the company had moved me into a two-berth cabin. An upgrade. That was fine until around 9pm a man came and said he was sleeping in the other bed. A little bit awkward as there is not much room between the two beds. But apparently he was travelling with his wife and kids and they couldn't all fit in their cabin. Other than that, the train was on time, I slept well and arrived rested for exploring the next day. Oh and bring food or snacks because the the food on the train is expensive and not that great. But overall a good experience and I'd do it again for sure

Unable to amend booking

The carriage was very noisy, with no soundproofing whatsoever, so you could hear every noise. The most annoying part was the sound of the train on the tracks, which felt like constant banging. The rocking motion was also very uncomfortable, and the train kept sounding its horn throughout the entire journey. Compared with the Sapa train, which I rated as excellent, this train leaves a lot to be desired.

I have to say the booking process was very confusing as I thought we were booking a 4 berth cabin all 4 berths and even though I did my research it still was very unclear on the site. I ended up with my 4 yo son having roommates. Then they offered to upgrade us for 50USD which of course we accepted so we could have our privacy but it felt very scammy. Also then we ended up in a different operators cabin so we had none of the normal amenities that we’re supposed to come with the Laman cabin we booked. It was a very cool experience overall but too stressful and I feel that 12Go’s website is not very user friendly for this trip.

The booking stated that the train would be new and luxurious. In reality it was a super old worn down train and cabin that received a sloppy paintjob and halfhearted renovation to make it look better. Sadly that didnt work out. The light breakfast consisted of a packaged burger bun with butter, an orange and a jogurt. The jogurt was in the cabin already and not cooled. So the next morning we decided out of caution to not eat it anymore. The train ride was very bumpy throughout the whole night which didnt benefit sleeping. We chose the train over bus cause we thought it would be more comfortable but after trying both it dient feel like. Train personal was really nice thought.

The train trip from Ninh Binh to Hue was perfectly acceptable and went smoothly. Boarding and transit were efficient without any major issues, and the general cabin conditions were completely fine. The only downside is that the sleeper beds are exceptionally hard. If you are used to a softer mattress, you may find it difficult to get comfortable. Overall, it is a reliable and decent transit option to get to Hue, just be prepared for very firm bedding.

Unforgettable journey, beautiful landscapes, great cabin

Train trip was great, comfortable carriage with clean toilet and bedding, enough room for luggage under beds. Small breakfast, drinks and snacks provided.

On time. Compact cabin but well laid out for 4 adults and suitcases. Snacks laid on for brekkie and lots of food / drink offers from the train staff. Mattresses a little hard but her decent kip. WiFi just about allowed us to watch all and World Cup game live. And England won!!

Expect what you would expect in a country like Vietnam. We were checken in and showen to the track at the right time. There’s A (simple) breakfast box, some snacks and drinks ready. If you’re a bigger eater, make sure you bring plenty of food for yourself. Beds are fine, not as soft as a hotel bed of course. We had a good nights sleep, and the views towards the end of the ride, approaching Da Nang are amazing! I thought it was a great experience. Just keep your expectations realistic.

Excellent trip. Booked a vIp cabin for four- there were three of us so you have to put in one persons details including passport details twice which is allowed. Cabin was clean.. there were some drinks,Christ’s and a breakfast box with bread jam banana yogurt. Sleep was good, toliet was clean and so was was basin. They have. A machine for hot water and cold water so you can bring your own pot noodles.

VIP is nothing on this train you are the same as everyone else.Everyone just ran to get on train.Crossing 4 tracks and lifting suitcases up half a meter onto train.Room was nice and staff are lovely,on the train anyway the station is another matter .Station they are not helpful,very unprofessional.

Beds were too hard and the blanket was too short for tall people. The carriages are not new as they claim to be.

It would have been excellent had the seat numbers been correct. We were told seats 13 and 14, the welcome letters in the room said 13 and 14 - but we were actually in 11 and 12, and it caused enormous problems with other customers on entry. When we got to 11 and 12, it greatly exceeded expectations and the journey was very comfortable indeed.

It's meant to be a luxury experience and it isn't. Cabin is dirty, beds uncomfortable and we brought out own food this time as the snacks offered are laughable. Not worth the money. Fly instead.

Couldn’t sleep bed where so uncomfortable, Wifi didn’t work either

Service to get to the coach was good. Everything was done properly and on time. The issue started with the cabin, which was filthy. We had to use wipes to clean the dirty footprints off the floor. The compartment above the door for bags, was also dirty. After about half an hour of cleaning we felt able to put our bags away. There was a lamp and a fake plant on the table which were so dirty, we had to put them on the floor. Yes, the carriages are old and a bit noisy, but this is not a problems. We've travelled on trains in Africa. Cleaning is a basic function that was just not done and looked like it had not been done for some time. I cannot recommend this train service, especially for the €500 it cost. Toilets and wash basins were clean. Beds were simply too hard and uncomfortable. We will have to do the return journey as we have booked it, but we won't use this service again. Far too dirty.

Wonderful experience, but set your expectations accordingly! Train was 4 hours late (apparently hit a car on a crossing, and I’m sure there was still a bumper off a car hanging on the train!) but you have to be patient as this isn’t like taking a train in Japan. Sleeper was comfy and clean but can get noisy, but overall it’s a wonderful way to see the beautiful Vietnamese countryside. If you’ve got the time do it

This was my first experience on a highly recommended sleeper train, and I was genuinely excited for the journey. Based on the reviews, reputation, and premium price, I expected a comfortable and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the reality was the complete opposite. During the journey, a woman in our cabin was openly smoking what appeared to be marijuana. The smell filled the compartment and was impossible to escape. I became physically sick from the odor and was unable to sleep for much of the trip. She was also heavily intoxicated, making the experience even more uncomfortable for everyone sharing the cabin. What was most concerning was that this was not a discreet incident. The smell was obvious, other passengers could smell it, and staff either failed to notice or failed to take appropriate action. At no point should paying passengers be subjected to drug use inside a shared sleeper cabin. When I later raised the issue, I was asked whether I informed staff. There was little need to do so when the smell was so strong that anyone walking through the carriage could have detected it. Staff were present throughout the journey, and this situation should never have been allowed to continue. I genuinely wanted to represent this company positively and even hoped to explore future collaboration opportunities. Instead, I was left disappointed by what felt like a complete lack of supervision and customer care. Rather than enjoying what was supposed to be a premium sleeper train experience, I spent the journey simply trying to make the best of a bad situation because the train was fully booked and there was nowhere else to go. For the prices being charged, passengers should expect safety, comfort, cleanliness, and attentive staff. In my experience, those standards were not met. As a first-time sleeper train passenger, this was not the experience I was promised, and certainly not the experience I paid for. ⭐&#7.7120693409341E+32;

The train service was excellent, the service given by mango Hotel was also great. The scenery along the trip from Hanoi - Da nang was beyond words.

Cabin was neglected and dirty. One of the two bathrooms also dirty. Train was on time.

The check in service was very good. We travelled First Class to have a cabin to ourselves. The cleanliness of the bathrooms were fairly well maintained throughout the duration of the journey. The beds were very hard. The pillows provided were also hard and too bulky to be useful for sleep, although came in handy for back support when sitting. Although rock and roll movement is expected on a train journey, the carriage was very noisy (constant squeaks and bangs) even with good esrplugs. Additional noise from fellow travellers with children is not something that can be controlled by the service, but it might be worth paying extra for Premium if you would prefer to avoid this. The views in the morning were excellent.

I was moved from cabin to cabin even though my ticket clearly said what I had paid for. I went to the dining car twice and was ignored and my wall charger was not working. The food trolleys practically ran past and only called out once that they were there.

Time on app booking was different to actual train time, and when speaking to other passengers they had a different time again. It was only 15 mins of variance but did cause me some concern regarding validity.

Easy and uncomplicated check-in. The berths were comfortable enough for a sleeper train. We had a good night sleep and arrived in Hue even ahead of schedule. Clean and enough service in the train. Besides the included beverages and food, there is also a cafeteria on the train and a possibility to order more snacks. Toilet was clean and staff friendly.

The staff in Hanoi were lovely & efficient, it was the other people in my cabin that made the journey difficult.

The cabin was vintage styled and beds were comfortable. Only bad part was the wash basin in the bathroom was leaking. Otherwise the experience was good

Very slow train, not able to open windows, dirty toilets and limited snack options.

I booked a bottom berth. When I checked in, the agent told me I was to be in a different car but still in a bottom berth. When I arrived someone else had been assigned that seat and the scroll on the bed had his name. I had to take a top berth in another compartment and none of the agents on board would help. Otherwise th train is clean and attractive. The beds are very hard but still aside from these things I enjoyed the ride.

It was recommended to try and I’m glad I did, I shared a room with a nice family, I am 192 cm and the bed was long enough the food and drinks served were good

We had a fantastic time on our trip from Da Nang to Hanoi. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and we would recommend anybody visiting Vietnam to take a train ride!

The floor and shelves were not very clean. Otherwise was all very good. Train was pretty much on time, the toilet facilities were OK and it was nice with the complimentary food and drinks. Would have been even nicer and fresher with white bed sheets.

The rude was nice and the service was ok. A snack for the morning, free drinks at the start (but not in the morning, a free coffee would have been nice) and I didn't had a water bottle. The wifi was really unstable, but it was nice apart from that.

Very comfortable, free water (if you want to Beer and Coke also - 1 tan each Person), Chips and (Tony) breakfast too.. very clean if you Imagine that you are in a train! Can reconmend the ride!
