If you ignore the rough tracks the train is driving on, it’s perfect. But thats everywhere the same. With a sleeping pill the time flies. Everything was good, other companies have nicer wagons, but it was clean and we got small bags with bananas and water. So all in all it’s good to travel with.

Very nice trip. The beds and room were tidy, blankets adequate. Nice free snacks and drinks.. Star of the trip was the scenery- Amazing. Toilet wasn't too scary by the journeys end. Hardest part was the confusion of checkin at Hanoi Train Station. But this was worked out by us and the rest was easy.

As we arrived After 5pm we showed our Voucher to the Lady in charge of the announcements at the Train Station. She wrote the numbers 1 and 2 for our beds on it and told us that it was ok and that we should wait. The Train arrived 45 min. late. We had to Cross the Tracks for getting into our Coach no.9. The bedsheets were clean, but the Toilette very Dirty and no paper. We got just ohne bottle of water and no Snacks. There was no Information or announcements in English. I would not call this a luxurious VIP Train at all.

What I expected,the train was ok very rough sheets, annoyingannouncements quite late at night. But the biggest and most avoidable problem is the voucher instructions very stressful people boarding train and you cant exchange ticket.a agent arrives kiar before but we did not know that was going to happen.

train is dirty even though you get the vip class .. very narrow beds and i think the blanket is used by the previous passenger.. toilet is filthy.. service is bad.. no much food choices, better bring your own food you will get very hungry.

Cabin was very nice with snacks also... male staff member asked money to have only 3 in cabin$200000, offered us white or red wine no charge then kept knocking on door a lot which was very odd... only for him to then charge us $400000 dong for wine.. we were suprised .. he then said $100000 dong then came back and said dont worry but we would have to have tea coffee in morning for $120000... the no 11 carriage was empty when we boarded 15:30pm at Hue' then upon the half way mark there were a lot of people in the cabins.. all full.. running around.. screaming.. very noisy... not the type of people that would have paid that much for ticket!!! We travelled from saigon to danang in first class sleeper , paid quarter price and had top service, no noise.. would not recommend again..

Very clean. Also the toilet was clean. Very good value. No wake up in the morning. We had a good sleep. The beds a little bit hard. We can really recommend this company. The staff could be more flexible. We had the cabin for our selves , but we could not change to lower beth for both of us when we asked the staff.

Train was clean and comfortable
But one of the staff woke me up an hour and half earlier claiming that we've reached my destination and told me to get off. Lucky I checked using my GPS to find out there's still 2 hours to go to reach nha trang. So maybe the company can add a display that shows which station they are at so that foreigners can understand where they are at
Otherwise the ride was great.

I wanted to be enthusiastic & embrace the train. I’ve travelled extensively by train. The coach was filled with cockroaches & the western toilet was filthy. You shouldn’t need to clean it every time you go in! The beds were rock hard offering not a fraction of comfort & the main bedding smelt of urine. The violette carriages looked cleaner & there were no roaches. The staff were helpful & polite. I’d now opt for a plane every time!

Instructions for receiving tickets were incomplete, despite my inquiry via email with 12go. You will need to find a lady right outside the platform, who will be confirming your identity from a list and giving you the actual tickets.

Compartment was good, was afraid because of the air con, but it was turned down a bit during the night. Yes, train is a bit bumpy, but hey, why would you expect to sleep as well as in your own bed?

It was absolutely freezing all night long: that combined with the very rough train ride made sleeping fairly difficult. Take a lot of warm clothing and a hat! Very thin mattress so hard bed. It was an on time departure and arrival. Also, my voucher said that I was to pick up the ticket at the actual carriage on the train, but in fact I had to ask around - a man was just walking round the waiting room looking for people on his list: fairly hit and miss, but I did get the ticket. Also I had asked for a lower berth and said that I would not want a ticket if that was not available, but my ticket was an upper berth. Luckily I was able to change it as I was there early. But be careful - there are no ladders to the top berths so they require considerable agility.

The cabins were good and the staff frendly. The were just two ting i didnt like. 1. I was a singel woman traveler and because of that chose the bed for me. It would be ok but i got a bed in a cabine alone and then in the night 3 of the staff sleept in ther... and there were other travelers who had space in the cabins... so that was the only dislike. They diden bothered me but i just woud like to bo informed in such meters. All together it was fine. Just a bumpy ride :))

Linens and cabin were clean and overall everything was ok with the actual train ride. Much better than the standard VN railways cabin. However a lot of confusion while attempting to board with only a voucher. A LOT. Basically the staff wasn't letting us on the train because we did not have printed tickets. We were asked to step aside and wait. My wife and I started to get very worried because none of the staff knew what to do with us until last minute someone came running with our tickets. No sure what exactly transpired, but we were only then were we allowed to board.

Hanoi to Hue, couldn't sleep due to loudness and shocking of the train. Cockroaches crawling on the wall (was warned of this beforehand though, so no big surprise). Toilet was fine.

Even though we originally booked 2 lower births in a cabin. After a couple of stops the guard insisted that I moved to the upper birth to allow a lady to have the lower one. But the upper birth was comfortable once I had managed to get up there. The guard knocked on the door to let us know that our station was next and directed us to our exit.

The 4 berth on Livi is not as good as the 2 berth on Vietnam rail. Random people come in and out for different stops and the cabin door is a bit loose rattling on every move. The Livi operator just came and disappeared. No wifi available

Nothing like VIP … the place is just basic, not clean. The staff at the station was not aware of this kind of reservation. After 15 minutes and calling someone they gave me a ticket with a different coach number … don’t expect much… if you want a VIP treatment, book a premium car not the train!

The Staff are very helpful, my friend and I had the 4x vip sleeper to ourselves which made things a lot more comfortable! We both slept on and off, you kind of get use to the swaying and stopping and starting motion, it’s a little noisy so take ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper

Bathrooms were disgusting, my cabin was nice and clean, but one woman was complaining of roaches in hers. It was an ok experience. Train was bumpy so was unable to get a good nights rest, but it could have been worse.

We travelled with Livitrans and on the voucher, there was written that the paper itself is a boarding pass. But the staff did not let us in. Luckily, we asked a lady in the near bistro (she was surprised as we were) and she called someone else who came with our tickets. It was one big chaos! The staff in the trained asked us if we want tea or coffee in the morning, but in the morning, they wanted us to pay for it. For comparison - from Hanoi to Lao Cai, we used Fanxipan Express and the morning refreshment was for free, beds were longer and air condition was fine. Air condition in Livitrans was really cold - people sleeping downstairs had to sleep in jackets and hats!

We had a voucher four four people in a 4 person VIP sleeper. I went to the station the day before to try to get the actual tickets with cabin numbers but was told to return a half an hour before the train. We arrived an hour before and were told to wait and then someone ushered us through to the train with just the voucher. He was a helpful employee with no English but he got us to our cabin. The cabin looked fine but the teenage girls with us were freaked out by three different bugs going up the wall. Air con was nice and cold. It is great to leave from city centre in HCMC and arrive into the city centre of Nha Trang. We didn't see much scenery because we went overnight but previously enjoyed good views on longer routes. The toilets were very basic but functional.

Sleeper car looked absolutely nothing like the pictures and the cabin was clearly much, much older! However, linen was clean, room was also quite clean and had enough space for all the luggage. Air con was ultra high (which was okay for most, but got a bit too cold overnight). Train left and arrived on time. Was expecting (based on previous reviews)horrible toilets, but they were, actually, very normal!

VIP x 4 sleeper was not as expected. Reasonably clean however loads of bugs everywhere including small cockroaches. 2 free bottles of water but no snacks. Mixed male and female and train ran almost an hour late. My standards were never high to begin with but this was slightly lower than expected. Also train does not just stop at Da Nang but multiple stops. Ensure to ask when you are arriving at your destination and set an alarm to wake you up around that time. It would be easy to miss your stop.

Not sure if the fault here lies with 12goasia or livitrans. As per many other reviews on tripadvisor this did not seem to be a livitrans service but a standard vnr train. Whilst I’m not bothered by this and the train was fine it was not as advertised and the communication about how to pick up tickets was awful. Just so people know you exchange the voucher at the desk in Da Nang station for your tickets...

As with other reviews, there was no Livitrans ticket place at HCMC. We had to ask platform staff for help. Carriage nothing like pictures and no different from standard despite paying extra. Small bottle of water and a face wipe was all that was provided. AC worked. Bring earplugs!

Journey was pleasant and train ran roughly to time. The only issue was boarding the train. Despite our printout from 12go stating go straight to coach 11 and the staff at the Livitrans desk in Hue station also saying go straight to train, we were nearly refused boarding due to the on board staff not understanding our ticket. We were allowed on and after around 10minutes the Livitrans rep on board ushered us to coach 9 and gave us our actual ticket. This actual ticket did not match the berth we were in or our passport numbers

The train ride was typical, the compartment we were in had A/C and if you kept the door shut you could keep out the cigarette smoke smell, however it was infested with small cockroaches. If you have the option to take a sleeper bus instead I highly recommend that route.

They either overbooked the train or had people in rooms they were not supposed to be in because there was not a room for us originally. It took some time to get worked out. Very noisy train.
