En règle générale, il n'est pas possible de choisir une classe de billets lorsqu'on voyage en van. Vous pouvez cependant vérifier auprès de l'opérateur et/ou choisir le type de van qui dessert votre itinéraire. Certains fourgons ne peuvent accueillir que 9 à 10 passagers, d'autres jusqu'à 15 voyageurs. Dans le premier cas, vous aurez plus d'espace pour vos jambes, des sièges plus larges et donc un trajet plus confortable. - Les vans atteignent souvent des destinations où ni les bus ni les trains ne circulent. Il s'agit notamment des villes secondaires et des petits villages.
- Dans la plupart des cas, les fourgonnettes sont le moyen le plus rapide d'atteindre votre destination si vous voyagez sur des distances relativement courtes par voie terrestre, simplement parce qu'elles sont plus petites et plus maniables que les bus.
- Les vans peuvent vous permettre de descendre à un endroit plus pratique pour vous en cours de route, pas nécessairement au terminus, ce qui peut vous faire gagner beaucoup de temps et d'argent dans certains cas.
Inconvénients du Voyage en Van
- Certains vans peuvent être assez exigus, avec un espace disponible limité pour les bagages. En fait, presque tous les vans offrent un espace limité pour les bagages, et si vous avez plus d'un sac, valise ou sac à dos, il peut être une bonne idée d'acheter un billet supplémentaire pour vos bagages - oui, hélas, vous allez payer double pour votre voyage...
- Cela vaut la peine de vérifier si votre van part à un horaire précis, ou s'il part quand il est plein. Dans ce dernier cas, vous risquez d'attendre longtemps, car sur certains itinéraires le remplissage d'une camionnette peut prendre un certain temps.
- Vous devez savoir que les conducteurs de vans sont connus pour leur conduite rapide. Même les compagnies les plus réputées ne parviennent pas toujours à persuader les conducteurs de respecter les limites de vitesse. Même si le chauffeur de votre van ne vous le demande pas, bouclez toujours votre ceinture de sécurité lorsque vous voyagez en van.
- Si vous êtes sensible au mal des transports, et que votre voyage comporte des tronçons sinueux, le risque d’être malade est plus élevé en van qu'en bus. Prenez vos médicaments une demi-heure avant le départ pour plus de sécurité.

First a minivan comes to your hotel and drop off you to a bus station
Then you will have to wait for a second big bus which will be the same one which wait for you during the two border crossings, until the Nong Khai bus station.
We arrive a bit before 5pm so it was perfect to have our night bus at 6.30pm.
Staff was nice and helpful. I recommend
We also didn’t have to pay the 2$ to cross the bridge as it was indicated in the voucher

We ordered and payed for pick up in mini van but we’re picked up in big tourist bus. Had to wait 50 min for the taxi pick up because they were late.

Our pick up was booked for 11.30 the bus did arrive slightly late but no problem. We were taken to our coach which was very comfortable. Good air conditioning and a nice smooth drive to Vientiane. Would definitely recommend.

Le taxi est venu nous chercher avec 40min de retard par rapport à l’heure annoncée. Lorsque nous sommes arrivées à la gare routière, le van que nous devions prendre était plein. Par chance, nous avons pu monter dans un autre bus qui allait au même endroit. Finalement, nous sommes parties avec 1h30 de retard. Pour finir, le bus nous a déposé en plein milieu d’une rue. Nous n’étions pas à un terminal de bus, et il n’a absolument pas communiqué pourquoi nous étions arrêtées ici.

The air-conditioning was set to low power during the trip, almost non-existent. For this trip it's better to book with the accommodation operator directly(about 150000kip) as it's cheaper than the website (about 180000kip plus service charges) and have more departure timings available.

Pünktlich wurden wir von einem Tuck Tuck am Hotel abgeholt und zu einem Sammelpunkt gebracht. Auch dort ging es dann pünktlich los nach Vang Vieng. Es ging über die Autobahn u d daher war die Fahrt sehr entspannt und auch am Ziel sind wir pünktlich angekommen.

14 hour journey took 20 hours! No mechanical issues or traffic instead stopping every 1-2 hours for cigarette and toilet breaks. Solo female traveller dropped off at 3am on the side of the road in pakse and told to get out instead of the bus station. Before getting on bus was told i had to pay extra 50,000 lak to get on. No explanation to why. Pay the extra £20 to fly. Wish i did

Je recommande !
Un van est venu nous récupérer à notre hôtel, (arrivée très ponctuelle à 13h15 pile) et nous a déposé à la station de bus de Vientiane.
Nous avons ensuite pris un bus de Vientiane à Udon Thani, bus propre, passage de la frontière sans difficulté (facturé 20 baths ou 10 000 LAK par personne), et arrivée avec quelques minutes d’avance à Udon Thani.

The bus left a bit late but the actual trip was a bit shorter than expected (we arrived about 4pm). They upgraded us from the minivans to a big bus because I think they overbooked but it was more comfortable that way anyway. 1 bad part was the a/c on the bus was barely operational and made for a hot journey. Overall it was a good trip.

The whole trip went well. The pickup from the hotel was on time and the transfer to the big bus at the bus station went smoothly. Transfers through both borders was excellent and we were dropped safely at the bus station in Nong Khai. A lot of things needed to go smoothly and they did.
