About Super Nice Express
Company Information
Super Nice Express began in the early 1980's, now almost thirty years ago. The company has grown immensely over the thirty years, expanding from just a single bus to a fleet that is now thirty busses strong.
The headquarters of the company is based in Butterworth. However, the company prides itself on their level of accessibility with many agents and counters at various destinations over the country. Tickets can be booked and assistance in times of trouble can be attained from these agents. Some of the locations that the company has counters include Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Alor Setar, Singapore, Klang, and Palua Pilang.
The company has a great safety record and provides stress-free trip to its customers. A combination of the use of high quality busses that ooze safety features, and a good level of maintenance on their busses ensures that they have few mechanical incidents or accidents.
Routes served by Super Nice Express
Super nice express offers long-distance VIP express bus services to major cities in Malaysia as well as a route through to Singapore.
From Penang
The bus from Butterworth through to Singapore will set you back a mere MYR 70 - definitely one of the more cheap fares when compared to competitors. The trip takes around 10 hours, with both day and night busses available. Considering the distance as well as time spent at the southern Malaysian border, a night bus would do well to save you valuable daylight hours, time at the border, and money that you would have otherwise spent on accommodation.
Beyond this most popular of routes, the company offers regular departures from Butterworth to a host of destinations within Malaysia. Among the exhaustive list of destinations are Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Seremban, Ipoh, Klang, Muear, Genting Highlands, Alor Star, Sungai Petani, and others.
Pros
The strong presence of the company at the various destinations to which it travels is a distinct benefit of using their services. Booking tickets, ascertaining information and putting any doubts that you have to bed is made easy through the direct contact that is afforded to customers.
Another benefit would also be the average cost of the trips. While at some points it may be at the market average, as a general rule the company is very affordably priced, allowing at the very least for some tasty snacks on the bus!
Cons
Unfortunately, there are always downsides to busses priced below the market average. While Super Nice Express claim to train their staff well, customer experience has been a tale of dissatisfaction and rudeness.
The companies adherence to their scheduled times is notoriously bad with both departure and arrival times being drastically off. Further, the accuracy of the label "express bus" is somewhat diminished when there are many stops to pick up new passages and inexplicable delays.
The usefulness of the online booking system is made largely redundant by the all too regular incidence of boarding your bus and finding that the seat you have booked has been taken and that you need to make do with whatever is available.
Travellers Reviews
Travellers are generally happy with the buses kept in good order, clean and tidy. All of the buses used by Super Nice Express have 3 soft reclining seats in a row ensuring enough legroom even for longer travels.
There have been reports of people being left stranded at the border after their bus left them. We do believe that it is an extraordinary incident but keep that in mind and do your best to go through the immigration as quickly as possible. Do not spend time in duty free shops at the border while travelling by bus. If you decide to get off the bus at the border (before you arrive to the final destination), do tell it to the bus driver, though.
