It was still worth the price - it was much cheaper than the bus, there was a toilet, and food vendors, so it was okay. But we arrived about two hours later than the stated time. Also, there was no option for me to buy two seats next to each other, so my friend and I were awkwardly sitting in different parts of the car.

We had a really good experience on the train from Udon Thani to Bangkok in the sleeper bunks. Beds were pretty nice and we got lots of sleep. Pillow and blanket were nice too! Would definitely recommend train travel in Thailand
