The journey was due to take 4 hours in total . The bus driver was making great time but unfortunately made a number of stops for his own reasons and therefore delayed the whole journey. Not even sure what the stops were for as he would disappear off and then reappear but we would all be left on the bus. At one stage he ripped off what looked like a bus permit .

The ferry experience from Koh Samet was fine but the bus experience wasn't very good. The bus smelled like urine and the seats are extremely narrow and cramped for people with broad shoulders. Some of the double seats are wider than others, so unless you are a petite Thai person you will be sitting shoulder to shoulder with someone

The ferry departed almost on schedule and arrived on time. The bus departed slightly behind schedule. Due to traffic congestion along the way, we arrived about an hour later than scheduled.
