Be aware when booking this bus from Vang Vieng to Pakse. we selected the option of just sleeper bus, when we got confirmation for the bus it had no bus station to depart from, i emailed 12go help team and they were talking about changing date.. which i didnt ask, anyway about the trip we got collected via minivan to vientiane at 2pm and arrived about 3.30pm to be dropped at some sort of trip stall for excursions. the lady here told us another minivan will collect us at 5.30pm. we then arrived at the station to be told our bus leaves at 8pm in the evening even though non of this information is on 12go. we were ment to arrive for 6am. we didnt arrive until 7.30pm. there is also no stops for food but there is a toliet on the bus. beds are uncomfortable but what would you expect. information really lacking on 12go behalf here as we had no idea of anything about our travel day.

Very well equipped bus, clean & comfortable. Seats are generously sized. Views were awesome. A small point for small people… I’m 5’4” and my feet didn’t quite reach the floor or the footrest. If you’re little, consider taking a bag with you as a footrest. There’s loads of space for it.

Can you drink the water in Chiang Mai?

Drinking tap water in Chiang Mai is not recommended due to potential contamination and varying water treatment standards.
