Suvarnabhumi Airport to Trat Destination Reviews

TM
It was my first time to travel by bus from Suvernabhumi Public Transportation Centre. I booked my ticket online and I thought that I still needed a paper ticket by checking-in to the counter at the Transportation Centre. Therefore, I expected that there was a counter for the bus company ‘Cherdchai Tour East’, but there was none. Also, there was no timetable displayed there. A member of staff at the Information Desk did not speak English at all. However, a few members of staff at Pattaya Bus Company very kindly told me that my bus to Trat would depart from Platform 3. It should be a timetable or at least a simple sign ‘Departing to Chanthaburi / Trat at 10:20am by Cherdchai Tour East’ written in English, so that foreign travelers could certainly make sure that it was a right place to board the bus. The bus was actually delayed nearly 30 minutes. Imagine that you were in a foreign place, the departure time was already passed, no announcement of when the bus was coming, and even you were wondering whether the bus was surely coming or not, although you had booked a seat. My opinion is that more announcement and information in English should have been provided to foreign visitors, since it is a public bus station in Suvernabhumi International Airport. The bus journey was very comfortable. A bottle of mineral water and a McDonald’s chicken burger was provided. I saw quite many local Thai people ask the driver to stop and drop them off en-route, not at designated bus terminals / bus stations. So, I asked them to stop in front of my hotel on National Road 3 along the way to Trat Bus Terminal, and they could kindly dropped me off. So that I managed to save my time to walk from the Trat Bus Terminal to my hotel, which was good.

The driver kept stopping every half hour. Sometimes for a cigarette, sometimes for food, sometimes for a drink. He was also driving recklessly.

It took a while behore we found our name (30 minutes) because it was supercrowded and a lot of people were there for a taxi. From the moment we found somebody to help us, they were very friendly and fast. The drivers had a terrible drivingstyle, he drove unstabil. He gave gas and let go the while time. Normally we never get sick but now we all did.
