The bus to get to Surat Thani was delayed and we did not arrive on schedule at least 1 hour 15 minutes late.

The ferry was OK. The minivan transfer was a disaster. We were waiting 1,5h at the Donsak pier (waiting for some People from different ferry) but after that delay we depart wirhout anybody else. Waiting in vain! Then the driver did several stops without explanation and was driving extremly fast and dangerously. In the middle of the road he suddenly turned back and stop on a highway to meet second minivan and finally onboard some New passangers which initially got on wrong van. We were 2h late in our final destination at Cheowang Dam and lost the boat booking due that. Chaos and poor Service.

Easily booked ferry crossing tickets the night before, received confirmation. Had to goto Phantip Samui to collect tickets. Was given a map on where ferry was departing. On the otherside, bus picked us up and dropped us at Phantip Surat Thani.

Why do I book online if I have to head to the office to get the same ticket as paper version. Waste of time and money. On the ferry: AC freezing inside. Outside loud music blaring. Upon arrival: Bus station without shade in glaring sun. No schedule, no staff to inform. 1.5hrs waiting time for the bus. Chaos, poor communication and exhaustion. Book Seatran if you can. Way better experience with them.

Just a heads up if you’re going from Koh Samui to Surat Thani. The Lomprayah ferry stops at Donsak pier. You can get a cab from there. Or if you selected Tapee pier then you travel by bus from Donsak.

This worked out well in the end, although info was slightly lacking in the middle. Tips are : A half hour check in is not necessary, we ended up on an earlier boat through turning up 40 minutes early. The boat takes 1.5h, the bus is scheduled to leave 15 minutes after the boat arrives, they had our names at the bus station so probably would have waited a bit. The bus that stops at the train station is the airport bus, not the town bus
