Netta MI just had a really traumatic experience on my trip from Chiang Mai to Pai.
I booked a van through 12Go, operated by the company PREMPRACHA / AVIA
The driver was driving like a maniac – I felt unsafe the entire ride. The road is already known for being bumpy, and curvy but he made it so much worse.
It got to the point where I threw up and felt extremely unwell during the last half hour of the journey. To add to the whole situation, I asked him to stop the van so that I could finish puking outside, he didn’t even say anything and didn’t stop the van, I had to spend the rest of the drive soaked in my own vomit.
When we arrived in Pai, I was trying to gather my belongings, which were completely messy and dirty from the whole situation. I was feeling dizzy, on the verge of fainting – all I wanted was to get to my hotel and recover.
Suddenly, the driver started yelling at me for throwing up (even though it was because of his reckless driving, I have never experienced throwing up in a car ride and I did this trip a year ago as well and felt good). He grabbed my backpack and started shaking me, even touching me in a threatening way, shouting that he would call the police if I didn’t clean the van right now.
I was standing there pale, nearly passing out, crying and telling him I wasn’t feeling well and just needed to get to my hotel – but he kept yelling at me in Thai (he didn’t speak a word of English), demanding I clean the van.
Eventually, I cleaned it because he physically took my backpack and refused to give it back until I did.
I’m really shaken up by the whole thing, and honestly, looking at the reviews here, I am not surprised that others had similar experiences with this driver. He drove in a completely reckless and terrifying way – and I’ve traveled a lot in Thailand, I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

Charlotte RThe driver took the turns like he had nine lives. My poor sister puked and everyone on the bus felt sick too. We could ear everyone including ourselves take deep breath the whole ride to hold back the vomit.

Annelise RBus was so uncomfortable, tiny upright seats. Not helped by the reckless driving by the driver. Everyone on the bus was genuinely terrified at some points for their lives.
