Two Public Places of Phnom Penh to Get Free Fast Public WiFi

In two public areas of Phnom Penh there will appear a free fast public access to WiFi thanks to KT Corporation (former Korea Telecom) which, in collaboration with the Telecommunications Ministry of Cambodia, will provide it.

On April 27 the Ministry issued the statement that WiFi will be available in two gardens of the city. The official opening ceremony is scheduled on May 9.The Internet is already available in Samdech Hun Sen Garden and the garden near the royal palace. The Internet connection speed is quite fast – one Gigabit a second.

Besides, three high schools in two provinces of Cambodia will also acquire digital connectivity. Two high schools Hun Sen Kampong and Hun Sen Toul Khpus in Kampong Chhnang province and Iva Srang High School in Kampong Speu province will become connected to the Internet, too. 

Of course, tourists can have the Internet connection in most hotels, cafes and restaurants which compete by offering better on the spot experience and at the airport. Speed and reliability is on par with neighboring countries. 

Phnom Penh on the river Mekong is the capital of Cambodia, one of Southeast Asian countries.
