Yöjuna lao cai - hanoi. Sänky oikein mukava, juna hieman äänekäs ja hytkyy välillä aika kovaa. Jos olet herkkäuninen niin en usko että saat nukuttua tässä junassa ( Ainakaan yläpedissä ) Olin yläpedissä 4 hengen hytissä ja ilmastointi puhaltaa hieman liian kovalla. Toisaalta mielummin liian kovalla kuin ilmastointia ollenkaan. Junassa myytiin juomia ja pientä snäkkiä. Juna oli aikataulussa.

Airco was good but a lot of people who eat and even smoke on the train which was not so nice

First time since decades that I suffer from herpes sores. Train and cabin (1 class) was very dirty and given pillows and blankets were apparently pre-used. Toilets were... no words for it. On the other side this 6 hour ride was unbeatable cheap.

Sehr laute und holprige Fahrt. Schlafen war nur wenig möglich.

Nên có các bảng biểu hay thông báo ở nhiều nơi ở ga, trên toa tàu...đơn giản, dễ hiểu nội quy cho hành khách (và hướng dẫn thoát hiểm khi có sự cố). Chuyến đi của mình từ ga Dĩ An đến Biên Hòa (SPT2, toa 2) có 1 nhóm khách du lịch rất ồn ào cả khi tàu chạy, cười nói lớn giọng, đi lại, đứng choáng lối đi...ảnh hưởng đến người khác. ... Nên có nơi để rác trên tàu và nhắc khác không vứt rác xuống sàn. ... Ở các ga cần có bảng tên ga to và rõ để khách biết, nhất là với khách đi lần đầu, ít khi đi hay khách nước ngoài. Hiện giờ có ga có, có ga không. ... Nếu có loa trên tàu thông báo tên ga sắp đến để khách biết thì rất tốt (thu âm sẵn tiếng Việt và tiếng Anh) để phát chứ không cần người đọc tại chỗ.

I would have thought that the beds in the sleeping car would be folded up during the day so that you could sit down. But this was not so.

Ask locals or book somewhere else We had a couple of experiences with 12go asia in our recent Vietnam trip and would not recommend this service. First, you simply do not see all options available, nor necessarily the best options for your trip. So in any case I would recommend to ask locals, e.g., a dedicated receptionist. They will call someone and you pay much less and will probably be guided until you sit in the bus. However, using this service, which in principle can bring you from A to B, there are problems. The first sign for ultra disrespectful behaviour towards the customers (apart from responses to online receptions; just have a look around) is the unneccessary insurance which is sold if you do not uncheck a, by default checked, box when you order. The second is the handling of receptions and inquiries. This leads to the final problem I have with this service, which is our experience with a night bus. When you book such a bus you will get a confirmation and a PDF with coordinates and a time of arrival. You are supposed to be there 60 minutes before departure. Fine. A taxi can bring you there. However, the point is that the bus, as in our case, will probably just not show up. The taxi driver had already kind of an idea that this will go wrong as he didnt know the place. However, checking the ticket he agreed that this has to be the we are supposed to go. So you are there in the night, at a "bus stop" (a shady place next to the Highway; cockroaches, rats, busses and trucks honking included for free) and wait for >2 hrs before giving up. All the phone numbers of the bus company dont work. Problems getting taxi or hotel at that time in the night are self-explanatory - luckily we found friendly accomodation in our previous hotel. After the bus company found it appropriate to just reschedule our trip to the next day (surprise: we couldnt just reschedule and our travel plans were messed up a bit) I contacted 12go. After a couple of mails back and forth with always another person on the 12go side, I found that they neither want to follow my demand of a refund, nor really care. So here it is my opinion about 12go. Have fun with the 30€, you can keep them. And all the Vietnam travelers: Just keep away- there are better options.

The Sleeper Train is not what we expected. unfortunately it was really uncomfortable. we had to share our bed with the other people that had seats in our room. there was no privacy, no laying down, and all the time yelling outside the room and people opening the door.

The traineide itself was fine but the toilets were so incredibly dirty and there were lots of small cockroaches in our cabin. Train left half an hour early, so be well on time.

Great views, good snacks. Train was as expected. Leg room was good. A/C was cooling.

Pros: Bed was sufficient comfortably, closed cabins so the train noise allowed us to sleep well. You travel while you sleep, save on accommodation. Still an experience to make the journey on these trains. Nobody checked our tickets and there’s no need to have printed version. Cons: cleaning is like the average in Vietnam. Just take baby wipes with you ;-) Only one power socket per cabin, better to have a multiple usb charger, so everyone can charge their devices. Train was late. You only get access to platforms like 10min before train arrives.

I booked first class but it didn’t feel like it. The carriage was quite old and didn’t feel clean at all. There was no proper sink to wash my face. The bed was ok. Not sure if they wash the beddings.

The train was very old and the seats small for us tall Swedish people. The man beside me was snoring loud most of the eight hours train ride so I spent as little time as I could in my own seat. The staff on the train were not very service minded, slept alternatively spoke very loud to each other in the food car, but we at least got some food to eat. All in all it is very strange that a developed country as Vietnam have this very low standard train.

the accommodation is not worth the price paid for first class. it is too cold at night. sheets and pillowcases were a little dirty.

it was a pleasant experience. the bed was clean, soft enough for this kind of bed and no bad smells from the toilet. a curtain for more privacy would be good if your neighbors are not that pleasant.

Except that we choose bed number 1 and 2 and then got 3 and 4. We choose them so we would be in the downs one and no one was taken when we ordered. That is a little bit annoying

nice train, we were only in the wrong compartment by the lady so had to run to the other car looking for where your place was eventually found, ride of 5.5 hours train only left 1 hour later

Transport and bed was comfortable, but the train was very loud during night, so it was very hard to sleep. Unfortunately the lock didn't work, so the door opened and closed at each station. The service however was truly amazing. The conducters checked the compartment at every stop to make sure everything's fine and occasionally closed the door. Finally I was Reminder to get off at my destination, as I don't speak Vietnamese and the announcements were in Vietnamese only.

The "bed" was very hard and actually just a board with a small mat, so not very comfortable. There was also a cockroach on the train, but it was outside our compartment, which was still not very pleasant. The 12-hour journey was therefore very long and we were glad when we arrived.

I love trains. This was rough. Not any kind of VIP, not cleaned recently (ever?) and most especially the “toilet” was a horror show. Lower your expectations, divide by 3 and you will be slightly disappointed. I love trains.

Nice smooth trip. Clean and accomodating. Lots of countryside to see.

A bit of a rough ride! We paid for first class but the beds were hard, narrow and the AC was a bit rubbish.

Train was in a lot worse condition than the one we caught from Hanoi to Sapa it was extremely loud something was hitting the bottom of the carriage until 3:30am when they finally stopped the train and fixed the problem. By that point it’s a little too late. Cabins much smaller than the first train and beds a lot harder

We had the cabin for 2. Really spacious with very clean bedding. A supper was included in the fare. Clean toilets, really handy hot and cold water dispenser in the carriage.

Train isn't very comfortable and also not very clean. The toillets are really very dirty. Not really a first class experience. Going by plane is better alternative. Same price and more comfort.

You should look, that you combine people in the compartment with the same starting point.

They contact me and show me how to meet them and were really professional.

We paid a premium price for the VIP 2 berth and were massively disappointed. The linen was filthy, is it really reused?? We had no conductor service whatsoever. We were given a non descript Pho 10 hrs into the journey (that was all). We had to ask for bottled water. The toilet was horrid with overflow soaking the floor and wetting you feet. The booklet in the Vip cabin depicts a much nicer picture. This was terrible for the money we paid. Thankfully the views on dawn lifted our spirits.

Dirty sheets, and full toilet after 20 minutes. Noisy and unconfortable. Not to recommend

The cancellation instructions were poor. I lost my all my money as a result. You state to do so within 48hrs, and when I used the link, there was no cancel button. I was suppose to know that I needed to email you. The link should have said this. Instead I tried to delay my travel. Only after a day I was told that this was not possible, and I needed 72 hours to cancel anyway.

2.5 hours on the train. Left and arrived pretty much on time, comfortable and all I needed.

Great experience, we’d done intramural flights and sleeper buses. So thought we’d give this a try too. 2 person cabin was clean and comfortable, air con worked fine. They give you a pillow and thin quilt/blanket. Thick mattress with a clean sheet on as well. Would use again but give the food amiss and take my own noodles (there’s a machine dispensing boiling water) Toilets were a little grubby but quite useable All in all a fun experience

В принципе, если нет вариантов других, то можно воспользоваться и жд. Но самый шок - тараканы... разных видов и размеров...

Comfortable seats. Easy to navigate and little fuss. The train was 15 minutes late in to Da Nang but because of single track streches on the route, the lateness of a train coming up from Da Nang caused us to wait for a little longer on route so it could pass. Cheap, effective, comfortable way to travel

We had been given top bunks for the 9 hour trip but there was no one else in the compartment so we raised the middle berths so we could sit comfortably on the bottom ones. There was a frequent appearance of food trolleys, and the canteen had cold beer and also food but was mainly full of train staff. The toilet was reasonably clean and one even had toilet paper.

Cockroaches crushed all night)) They are everywhere)) Europeans may be a little unusual for such a neighborhood))

Nice new train wagon. Clean, lots of space, fast and convenient transportation.

I did ask for a ticket to Mui Né and I got one to Binh Thuan... This train station is one hour drive by taxi (at night) to get to Mui Né - no one told me about it. I was very disappointed and not happy to spend 30.00$ (on a tight budget) to get to my hotel

5* experience but toilets were awfully unhygienic and speaker was broken, making a noise impossible to sleep to.

Nice way to travel during the night did not sleep much. Early arrival at saigon so an early walk 6:00 am in saigon was a nice experience

Неплохой поезд. Отправление ровно по расписанию, но прибыл позже написанного в билете. Есть тараканы, за это минус балл.

Not bad at all. Bed was OK, noise level was normal for Vietnam (noisy). Delayed for 30 minutes, so not a massive inconvenience. Didn't use bathroom but smelled it! Food carts, tea, coffee and beer available. Higher prices as a captive market, but not extortionate. Would travel again. (expect to struggle a bit finding your berth if you don't read Vietnamese). Staff polite and well presented.

Train stopped around Hi Van during 3 hours due to the technical problem. We missed flight and rearranged next flight by paying extra money. arrived at the destination 12 hours late. Except for this issue everything was ok. We were very satisfied with services.
