Die Fahrt ging super schnell. Die Route war gebucht von der Khao San Road und war definitiv unter 3,5 Std, jedoch auch dementsprechend riskant.
Der Bus war in einem desolaten Zustand, hat uns aber sicher ans Ziel gebracht.
Preis-Leistung passt. :)

El bus salió una hora tarde. No tenía wifi lo cual nos habían asegurado al hacer la reserva y no se parecía en nada al de las fotos. El baño era deplorablemente. Al subir nos dijeron que tendríamos la cena incluida en un parador y jamas pararon para comer. Si nos dieron una manta, una botella de agua y un paquete de galletitas. Los asientos eran bastante incómodos. Lo único positivo es que te incluía el taxi dentro de la ciudad vieja de Chiang Mai sin costo.

Nous sommes partis 30min en retard, tout ca pour prendre une autre navette à une gare routière dans Bangkok où nous avons attendu de nouveau 30min, et au final nous sommes arrivés avec 1h de retard.

The agency itself is a very small and untidy place. The lady is bad tempered and don't talk to customers. The first van is scary and take you to another van. The van driver is not good. He kept on hitting the gas pedal every 2 seconds!!! We arrived one hour late. Do not recommend.

Un grand merci à Nancy patronne de l'agence qui a bien voulu changé la date de mon voyage car je m'étais trompé de date lors de la réservation en ligne. Elle nous accueille au moment du départ et nous attribue les places. Le chauffeur a conduit de manière très prudente et le voyage a été confortable. A notre disposition une couverture, une bouteille d'eau des biscuits et la wifi à bord. Un ticket restaurant nous est offert et un service de taxi à l'arrivée nous dépose à notre hôtel ce qui est très appréciable. Je recommande vivement l'agence de Kha San Tara Travel à Bangkok.

Bus came on time, arrived in Ayutthaya 30 minutes early to schedule. Minibus was spacious enough (I am 6‘4‘‘) for the ~90 Minute trip and we’ll air-conditioned

Der Bus fuhr pünktlich gegen 10.30 Uhr in Bangkok los und kam vor der geplanten Zeit in Kanchanaburi an. Der Minibus war zwar älteren Baujahres (Stoßdämpfer etwas ausgeschlagen) aber für diese Strecke ging es. Menschen mit Rückenproblemen sollten diesd Art der Anreise aber überdenken da die Straßen mitunter recht bumpy sind. Der Fahrer wsr sehr freundlich und brachte mich für eine geringes Aufgeld sogar zum Hotel. Ca. 60 Minuten vor der Ankunft legten wir an einer Tankstelle eine kleine Austritts-Pause ein.

We waited for the bus for a long time, the departure time was different as it was stated on the tickets! Also you 1st need to check in in one office (Tara) - the address provided on the ticket is not accurate. The shop is on the main road not in the Soi Samsen 1. Then from that shop we needed to walk to another one with all our heavy luggage. And waited there 1,5h for the bus.
The bus was confortable, enaugh leg space, they gave us a chocholate bar and a bottle of water, blankets. The bus has AC. We were also provided with free dinner and a taxi transfer to our hotel.

-- Good organization, terribly shaking overnight bus --
We travelled from Bangkok to Chiang Rai by bus. From the travel agency near Khao San Rd. we were brought by taxi to the big bus terminal in the north of Bangkok and the lady in the office gave us a good description how to get to the gate where the big bus departs. The big overnight bus was shaking so much (1-2m) that we had to fear it might fall on the side. It felt like the bus was going very fast (GPS showed it was only 85 km/h, but aweful feeling though). Safety belts were broken. Could not get much sleep, just hoping to arrive save.
Free water bottle and snack on departure, very kind. On the first break stop, we got another free water bottle by retrieving a coupon that came with the ticket. (Maybe the second coupon was for a meal, didn't understand).

We paid 580 Bath per person for a trip that was actually worth only 180 Bath (usual price for a bus ride from Bangkok to Pranburi)
On the website there was no information about the fact that this bus goes to Southern Terminal before going to Pranburi - with additional waiting time and change from one bus to another. If I had known that, I would have taken a taxi directly to Southern Terminal - for a cheaper fare - and not to Khao San Road!
At least the bus was on time, this is the reason I gave two stars.

We came to their office 1 hour earlier and they help us for luggage with no deposit needed while we take a walk around Khao San rd. before departure. The lady at the office helps us to get minivan.

Impossible de trouver l’agence pour le départ du van car pas d’enseigone Puis, le van est arrivé il nous a depose à une gare des bus où nous avons pris donc un autre van après avoir attendu ... autant se rendre directement à la gare des bus par ses propres moyens!

L’agence n’est pas facile a trouver mais l’accueil est bon. L’horaire est respecté mais le petit van n’est pas confortable et surchargé.

I paid extra to take a bus to Kanchanaburi, specifically because I didn’t want to spend three hours in a cramped and uncomfortable minivan. Khao San Tara Travel misprepesented this trip by showing a picture of a bus, and charging extra for it. The ticket said to show up half hour early, so we did, and the lady didn’t open the shop (which was very messy and uncomfortable) for another 15 minutes. Then she walked us across the street, said “one minute” and left us there. Finally a rickety old minivan shows up, the lady yells at us from her shop and waves is to get into the van. It’s cramped, dirty, there is mold growing on the walls, and there has been a constant schreeching noise coming from beneath the van, which makes me think it could break down any minute. This is NOT what I paid extra for. The driver did not stop to allow us to use the toilet, grab a snack, or stretch our legs. The only plus side is that we arrived at our destination an hour early, but that also meant that we had to hope our hotel would allow an early check in (luckily they did). I guess that’s what Tara Travel means by “Express”? I do not recommend travel with Khao San Tara Travel.

You get taken to a coach ,so not in a mini bus the whole way. The coach ticket itself is only 120 baht so probably better to get a taxi to the coach station. It took us 4 and a half hours not 3 and half.

A little bit difficult to find the office in Bangkok. For night bus you can give pillow, not just blanket. Bus come to chiang mai 2 hours before the time. I understand that It an impossible to predict the exact time of arrival, but 2 hours it really ti much time. My hotel was closed in this time

It was confusing where we had to hand in the voucher and the tourism agency was difficult to find too. Taxi drivers didnt know the street. Once we could find the office， the trip was all right.

I did manage to go from bangkok to kanchanaburi, but the part that was done by tara tour & travel was pretty bad. The people that work at tara are extremely unfriendly and they just drop you off at the busstation, so you can also just take a grab to the minivan terminal and buy a ticket there. The rest did go as planned although it took a bit longer.

Trip was fine. Nice van took us to the main van area and purchased tickets for forward travel. Negative was the lady and driver were both miserable and in very bad moods!

Booked to pick us up at 11 but left at 11.30 but still got there on time :) Tara travel was a little hard to find as maps says it’s over the bridge on the right side but it’s the left of the road. Had to swap buses but got aircon and a comfy seat. Really lovely people

I got on a first mini bus that took me to another bus station, where I waited around 30 minutes for another mini bus to start.
I don’t recommend if you are in a hurry. As I was aware this could happen, it did not bother me. We got there in the end !

Booking process was easy. We arrived at the Khao San Road office 30 minutes in advance, as advised. We were told to wait and left only at 11.30, half an hour late, when a man came out of the office who had already been there when we checked in and led us to a van that had already been parked there ever since we got there... he drove us to the bus station and showed us the platform where again we waited for quite a while. No one told us what we could expect, they didn't speak much english so information was very poor. Eventually the mini bus arrived that would drive us to Kanchanaburi. This was a comfortable van with good ac. Along the route we stopped a couple of times to pick up or drop off passengers. We arrived in Kanchanaburi around 5.30 instead of 3.30 as scheduled. All together it was a comfortabele drive but if you choose the 11am bus just consider it a travel day and don't make any plans as the time schedule means absolutely nothing.
