Naga Travel

The pick up at the restaurant was weird. You can be there at 17.00 of you already have eaten something. The bus was very comfortable and had toilet. The crossing at the border was no problem and did not take longer than 30min. We stopped halfway, around 00:00 to eat. Do not forget your bus ticket is also a food coupon at this place.

Communication on what bus to get was poor, we got told to stay on transport which was going to Paksa when we were going to Luang Prabang. The driving was crazy and my partner was unable to sleep more than 2hrs. Air conditioning was good and bed wasn’t too bad.

-do not state which bus terminal. Yes, they’re opposite and I was fortunate in having not much luggage as I went to the wrong one. Others had a lot to carry across the main road! -very hard to find the bus counter as one is inclined to look for Naga Travel when it’s actually something like ‘99’ -Company did not and still have not responded to my email sent 5 days before bus. If they had, I could have gone to the right terminal... -snacks were nice -sleeper bus never chanted at Laos border. Just reclining seats -toilet had no light or flush and smelt the whole bus within an hour of departure -driver was smoking and it filtered to the coach through the endless ‘no smoking’ signs... But, as all the other reviews are the same comments, Naga Travel clearly has no intention of doing anything!

The staff were nice and very helpful and explained what was going on and sold us SIM cards. Luckily we were a couple so the seat/bed that you have to share was fine, but if you’re on your own may be slightly weird sharing with a stranger as they’re not large.

Very good journey, the trip was comfortable even though it was one hour late. Just take your time while traveling in Laos !!

The bus was comfortable and the driver drive it well ..

I traveled from Luang prabang to Vientiane. The trip was okay. They started and ended mostly on time. The road is quite bad and unpaved most of the way. If you are tall, you will have trouble in the sleeper version of the bus. It is a bit cramped and there is not enough space to keep your handbag. You might want to bring some jacket. The AC could be freezing. The blanket they give is too thin to be of any help. Another awkward thing is the lack of bathrooms on the way. The bus stops periodically (every 45 minutes or so) but you have to take a leak in the open on the road!

From the hotel I transferred myself to the Souchai small sub office in town where I was warmly greeted arriving 15 minutes ahead of the departure time printed on the ticket; not 30 minutes prior as the Tuk Tuk I booked the night before decided not to come so I scrambled for another one.........,,,,,,,,,, Anyhow after the warm greeting in English I may add, I sat inside with my bag until for 15 minutes after the printed departure time on the ticket,, thinking the large bus was probably having in city traffic issues.................... Anyhow I was then about 0905 put into a lot electric buggy car where we then went around town to collect other guests from their hotels, this took 15 minutes from there on we drove to a large car park to find the bus awaiting and loaded out bags into the hold and boarded about 0925................ We then waited for a few more electric buggies to turn up discharging it’s lad of passengers across to the bus............ In the end we left about 0935 with the bus from van Vieng to Vientiane....... I did notice whilst sat waiting room the schedule out on a large roadside public poster was that the scheduled departure time of the bus was actually 0930 :)).......... En route we stopped at a roadside diner with the bus parked right at the door. The driver got out but he DID NOT say we were stopping or for how long so none of us knew if we could sit and eat, go to the toilet or what. In the end it seemed that most went to the bathroom and bought junk food as quickly as possible whilst staying close to the bus to avoid being left!! It would have been polite and more professional to have informed us exactly what was going on; no harm done........... The bus was in good shape, very clean and everyone working for the company were well dressed and came across happy to be doing their job............ The driving style was safe and the trip went well....... We were dropped off at the roadside with the vultures ready to pounce; Tuk Tuks.. Lucky for me my hotel was walking distance. Plus there was an ATM right at the bus door which was great help too........... ......In all the service is very good and I recommend it to anyone considering this trip.....

Bus was on time and we arrived early. Minibus in good condition, but very cramped. Driving was bumpy, fast and erratic at times (but have come to expect this while travelling SE asia!) Overalls not a bad journey at all

The bus is ok, but the drivers are crazy and they stop all the time in the middle of the nowhere to get and leave things, super weird and we got really afraid. Take your own food cause the stops are really bad.

They were late without communication. We were then dropped off at a petrol station and had to wait again for the coach to arrive... When we were eventually dropped off we had no idea if we were at the right place as no one spoke English and it was a fair way outside of the city centre...

The way to Vientiane was fast and smooth, one stop on the way, minivan clean and nice :)

Ticket Abholen am Bahnhof, eine Station fahren, Visa on Arrival und vom Personal zum Bus gebracht. War alles super einfach auch wenn es für uns noch ungewohnt war, da wir erst vor einer Woche in Asien angekommen sind. Auch der Busfahrer war super freundlich und hat uns für ein sehr kleines Entgeld zum Hostle gebracht.

They forgot us. They did manage to get us on a different mini van which is why I'm not rating the lowest. But we did everything as was described in the description. Waited in front of the restaurant 30 minutes before departure time but they never came. Eventually called them and we were picked up by a tuktuk which dropped us off at a regular bus station. Can't really recommend this because of my bad experience. You are better off booking at a local office or at your hotel. Plenty busses there

The trip itself was very nice. The staff on the train was very friendly. Everything was kept clean during the whole trip. About the booking I am less positive. The staff made mistakes with our refund. It was supposed to be refunded to our creditcard but when we want to the 12Go office one of the staffmembers gave us the refund back in cash. Later we received an email with two options: either to pay back the refund via PayPal or to pay it at the office. Since we were taking the train the day after, we decided to go to the office right before we would catch the train. In the mean time we received an email with a treathing tone, that if we ignore the request of paying back the refund they would give all oir personal information to the railway staff. The railway staff and the 12Go staff would wait for us at the station and that they would cancel our tickets. I think this is not the proper way to communicate with customers. Especially since I was not the one who made the mistake.

pickup location and time were unclear. Vien-pak Sleeper bus was comfortable, and cozy with 2 people sharing the bed. Pakse-don det bus service was erratic and communication was poor. Delayed for an hour because of one passenger. Arrived in one piece, so I guess it's all fine.

The bus was on-time (actually got to Luang Prabang early), but the conditions were pretty bad. The shuttle that takes you to the bus station at 18:00 didn't mention that you have to wait 2.5 hours at the station (food stalls close by the time you arrive). Also, the bus operators have no idea what assigned seats mean. It's mostly first-come first-serve and everyone ignores their ticket's seat number. It was a hassle finding a bed and the sheets smelled terrible.

Bus was very comfortable and hardly anyone on it so we could all spread out. But very spacious anyway. Driver good enough, a bit grumpy but that’s ok. Snack pack given out. Visa process in Laos was quick. Was early to Luang Namtha BUT got dropped as bus terminal out of town and no tuk tuks or taxis at night. Had to hitch hike which as a lone female was frightening. Only time I could arrive though was 9pm. Contact your hotel before to see if they can pick you up. Other than that v good experience though.

All fairly good but was dropped off at train station where couldn't get bus north which is where most people are heading so had to get half hour tuk tuk across town. Not very useful drop off point.

Simple bus, confortable seats. Moreover it was almost empty and I could lie down.

Stuck three of us in tiny compartment over engine at back of bus. Not impressed. These spaces not designed for three large western guys.

I like this... It wasn't hassle like I experienced on the way to Vientiane from Bangkok... It was a direct bus from Vientiane to Bangkok... Everything was okay...i was informed from the time you leave... :) thanks

Great. Left it till last minute to pick us up but suppose can understand the logistical probs.

All good. Lovely people running the service. Just a suggestion, maybe have the meeting place for pickup at a place where people can escape the heat while the wait for the driver. Thank you

I bought the ticket via 12go and I am aware that they are only selling the ticket and are not operating the buses. The bus had 12-15 passengers, give or take, during the tour. The trip between Vientiane and Luang Prabang was interesting and I can summarize it as: Pro: - We made it all the way without any incidents . That said there was several near-misses and some serious incidents observed on the way (see below) - The driver of the bus was politely and friendly - The air-con was not to cold (which is often a problem on this buses) - Plenty of stops en-route (might be annoying for some) ensured that the engine - and most importantly - the brakes could cool down before continue the ride. Con: - We observed a truck involved in a "front to front" collision with another heavy vehicle. This caused some delays both southbound and northbound. - We observed an incident involving two motorcycles with at least two fatalities. Shocking! - I showed up the 1 hour before pick up (as instructed on the ticket) just to experience that I had to wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes for the pick-up. - At the bus station there was some confusion about which bus to take, wen it was leaving etc, but it was sorted out in the end. - The bus was old, noisy and had seen better days. But remember- this is Laos - The roads was bumpy, and to some extent, unpaved. But remember- this is Laos

Good trip, good service, beds quite small for 2 people but not much you can do about that! Actually a quite enjoyable 20 hour bus ride!!

Everything is good, except there is no charging station

It was not a sleeper bus. The only quality that could hint to a sleeper bus is that the seat reclined a bit. Only problem was that if you actually did recline the (highly uncomfortable) seat back it hits the person behind you and takes away the already non excisting leg space. In the ticket it said that it could be an older bus but that once you crossed the boarder the bus would change into a sleeper class bus. It did not. The bus ride lasted abou 20-21 hours so you can imagine the joy. I was quite dissapointed as was the whole bus full of people. I am quite short (5'2/157cm) but I left the bus with sore legs, back, neck and arse. I dont want to imagine what it would have been like for someone taller. The thought that kept occurring to me during the journey was: my school bus at home is more comfirtable than this. At least there's wifi on that. On a positive note the staff was very nice, the snacks they gave were good as well and you meet a lot of nice, new people who also think the bus is horrible. That's at least something to bond over.

We didn’t change into a sleeperbus. The bus was okay but not for 20 hours. Very late stop to get dinner.

They picked us up from our hostel. Left the bus terminal an hour late but I think that’s okay. Thank you!

Really not a good experience. If I did it again I would pay the small amount more and take a private taxi

The bus was late Aircon didn’t work to it fullest Sketchy road, but the driver handled it very well

More than 1 hour late bus with no explanation, different kind of vehicle

We were expected to leave at 0900hrs but left at 1000hrs. Very disappointed

- The information about boarding and the pickup point was inadequate. - There was a delay of 1,5 hour. - The bus was nice and clean. - The staff was friendly.

we were packed into a mini bus for over 4 hours. 2 passengers had to sit on tiny pull down seats and virtually had their knees around their ears !

The problem is GoAsia. They sell a trip that does not exist. It said Naga travel leaving 9am. But there is no Naga 9am trip from vientiane, only the 9.30 Soutchai one. This one left only after 10am. Trip itself fine.

Bring some earplugs and you are fine.

We booked on 12go.asia. Unfortunatly they charged more to book the bus than the cost of the bus itself. If you book the bus with a local travel shop or at the bus terminal itself it’s much cheaper. On the site it’s also sold as an VIP bus, when it’s just a normaal sleepingbus with not much of sleepingspace.

22 hours with no sleeping bus. No lights at the toilet and was smelling really bad. Hopefully i had bought some snacks and water because the bus did no stop for this until 19 hours later. Good thing is that drivers seemed friendly and could understand English.

Got my ticket very easy

The bus drivers were kind.

This was a surprisingly comfortable journey in a pretty good bus. The Air con worked and the seats were comfortable. We were late starting and late arriving but just by 30 mins which isnt bad.

Was not happy at all. The bus was late by two hours and there was no communication to when the bus was arriving.

The bus was very nice. New and clean seats. AC level just ok. The road a bit bumpy
