I actually expected the worst because of the negative reviews I have read. 4pm was the pickup time and it was communicated in the confirmation email that pickup might be delayed. I almost panicked. At 4pm I did receive a call from the driver that he would pick me up at 4:30pm so that was good enough. It was a short ride to the train station and I appreciated that the driver helped me with my luggage. Not a complicated process for me for this Vang Vieng to Vientiane train booking via 12go. Thank you.
Nothing wrong with 12go service obviously you pay for this but well worth it. The negative is with the train company you are not allowed to take any toiletries over 100ml or any alcohol and they take things off you as they please, things disappeared under desks instead of going in the bins.
Our pick up was booked for 11.30 the bus did arrive slightly late but no problem. We were taken to our coach which was very comfortable. Good air conditioning and a nice smooth drive to Vientiane. Would definitely recommend.

I booked the 6pm pick up and the 8.06 arrival in Vientiane which would have put me on the 7.06 train. I wasn’t picked up until 6.25 with no communication (sat there waiting from 5.30 as required) and then I was given a ticket for the 7.56 train, not the one I had booked.
I’m most annoyed by this because of the lack of communication. This cost me the opportunity of doing the VV hot air balloon ride (cancelled because of rain 4 times to that point) - a bucket list activity. Had they told me about this change I’d have not needed to be ready until 7pm!
Bus left two hours later than was promised. We had to wait two hours at the busstation and employees told is multiple times the bus would leave shortly, but it didn’t.
Eventually two busses left. One fully packed with people (we we’re in this one) and one with just three people in it. The A/C in the bus didn’t work, so it was so warm.
The car was really good and the road too
Unfortunately, the driver put a children bench between two of the seats and since I was the last to be picked, I was the one that had to be seated 2 hours on it, without a place to rest my back.
On my voucher departure was 11:30 and they asked us to arrive in advance. We didn’t leave till 11:55 and waited in front of hostel for an hour. Unacceptable for me. I know you want the bus to be full but if people not on time not fare for others. Be mindful of your customers’time ! But on highway all the way , easy road to go to vientiane
1. when I reached out to you and asked to be picked up at the hotel you said this wasn’t a pick-up bus. turns out we were the only people starting the journey at the bus station, everybody else was picked up afterwards and paid less money than we did. thanks for nothing
2. the bus driver was on time and we could have left on time but he preferred letting us wait in the hot car for half an hour before coming back, never told us we could wait outside because it’s going to take a while
3. is is really necessary to make a 20 minute stop 10 minutes before the destination?
