The overnight trip on the train from Surat Thani to Bangkok was a fantastic experience, from eating at a local restaurant near the train station, to the comfort of the cabin and then the trip into Bangkok in the morning it was worth the time compared to flying.
Everything was well organised. A smooth transfer from the ferry to the bus, to a taxi to the agency and eventually to the train. The train left on time and was only delayed for one hour.
On the booking it's says we arrive at 7 am so had only 3 hours to wait. Turns out we arrived a 3 am. Which give us 7hours to wait outside. If we knew we would have took an hotel.
Good beds for a sleeper train, but many people talking very loud all night, including staff and vendors. Also very bright lights in the sleeping area, why can’t these be dimmed during nighttime?
