De prijs van uw busreis hangt af van zowel de bestemming als de klasse van uw ticket. Wij willen u erop wijzen dat niet alle ticketklassen beschikbaar zijn op bepaalde routes, maar voor langere reizen is er bijna altijd een goede keuze beschikbaar. Kies voor een slaapbus voor de meest comfortabele reis met overnachting. Slaapbussen zijn meestal uitgerust met ligplaatsen of zachte stoelen met verstelbare rugleuning, hebben een toilet aan boord en uw ticket kan ook andere extra's bevatten zoals snacks of zelfs een lunch of avondmaaltijd. Een nachtbus nemen is ook een goed idee als u wilt besparen op uw hotelkamer. Overdag is een expresbus vaak het voordeligst, omdat deze minder vaak stopt dan een gewone of standaardklasse bus. Dit betekent dat u sneller op uw bestemming aankomt. Op sommige routes kan het van cruciaal belang zijn om de juiste klasse te kiezen, want een gewone of tweede klas bus kan bijvoorbeeld 6 uur nodig hebben om de afstand af te leggen, daar waar een eerste klas of expresbus in twee uur uw bestemming bereikt!
Voor- en nadelen van reizen met de bus
De voordelen van reizen met de bus
- Bussen hebben meestal het breedste netwerk van bestemmingen. Ze reizen naar plaatsen waar u met het vliegtuig of zelfs met de trein niet kunt komen.
- Reizen met de bus is gemakkelijk, want u hoeft niet lang van tevoren in de busterminal te zijn, en het inchecken is meestal een zeer snelle formaliteit in tegenstelling tot reizen met het vliegtuig.
- Buskaartjes zijn zeer betaalbaar. Ja, er zijn dure eerste klas of VIP-opties, maar als u slechts een beperkt budget hebt, is de bus uw beste keuze.
- Tegelijkertijd zijn er verschillende klassen van dienstverlening voor elk budget. Als u op zoek bent naar een hoger niveau van comfort, dan hebt u hiervoor de keuze.
De nadelen van reizen met de bus
- Bepaalde busterminals kunnen zich buiten het stadscentrum in de buitenwijken bevinden. Dat betekent dat u rekening moet houden met extra tijd en geld om naar deze busterminals te reizen. Op bepaalde bestemmingen kan u dit meer geld kosten dan u zou verwachten, omdat slechts een beperkt aantal vervoersmaatschappijen de route mag bedienen en de prijzen kunnen zijn opgedreven.
- Tijdens drukke weekenden of in het hoogseizoen kunnen bussen die sommige toeristische bestemmingen verzorgen, volgeboekt zijn en moet u van tevoren reserveren.
- Hoewel bussen niet zo afhankelijk zijn van het weer als veerboten, kunnen busreizen ook worden vertraagd of geannuleerd als gevolg van slecht weer of wegomstandigheden. Houd hier rekening mee als u tijdens bepaalde seizoenen of naar bepaalde bestemmingen reist.

I did manage to go from bangkok to kanchanaburi, but the part that was done by tara tour & travel was pretty bad. The people that work at tara are extremely unfriendly and they just drop you off at the busstation, so you can also just take a grab to the minivan terminal and buy a ticket there. The rest did go as planned although it took a bit longer.

Trip was fine. Nice van took us to the main van area and purchased tickets for forward travel. Negative was the lady and driver were both miserable and in very bad moods!

Booked to pick us up at 11 but left at 11.30 but still got there on time :) Tara travel was a little hard to find as maps says it’s over the bridge on the right side but it’s the left of the road. Had to swap buses but got aircon and a comfy seat. Really lovely people

De airco was lek, daarom de halve nacht met handdoeken heen en weer geweest. En waren we helemaal nat. Ook was de bus een uur te laat waardoor we meer dan 1.5u hebben moeten wachten

I got on a first mini bus that took me to another bus station, where I waited around 30 minutes for another mini bus to start.
I don’t recommend if you are in a hurry. As I was aware this could happen, it did not bother me. We got there in the end !

Booking process was easy. We arrived at the Khao San Road office 30 minutes in advance, as advised. We were told to wait and left only at 11.30, half an hour late, when a man came out of the office who had already been there when we checked in and led us to a van that had already been parked there ever since we got there... he drove us to the bus station and showed us the platform where again we waited for quite a while. No one told us what we could expect, they didn't speak much english so information was very poor. Eventually the mini bus arrived that would drive us to Kanchanaburi. This was a comfortable van with good ac. Along the route we stopped a couple of times to pick up or drop off passengers. We arrived in Kanchanaburi around 5.30 instead of 3.30 as scheduled. All together it was a comfortabele drive but if you choose the 11am bus just consider it a travel day and don't make any plans as the time schedule means absolutely nothing.

J'ai booké ce bus car plus aucun trains ne partaient vers Chiang Mai. Je n'avais pas l'habitude de voyager en bus en Thailande donc j'ai été surprise de l'état général du véhicule et du non respect de l'horaire prévu (départ plus d'une heure après ce qui était annoncé).
Le bus était vieux et déglingué... Si le moteur est aussi bien entretenu que l'intérieur du bus il y a lieu de s'inquiéter. Nous n'avons heureusement pas eu de pannes ni rien mais j'en ai eu peur. Les lampes à l'intérieur ne marchent pas (seulement l'allée centrale), il y a l air co mais ce n'est pas réglable (sauf en coinçant les froufrous décoratifs dedans pour en limiter la puissance). Prenez un pull ou un châle avec vous et chargez votre téléphone à l'avance car les prises usb ne fonctionnent pas non plus. Une expérience que j'espère ne pas revivre.
NB: pour ceux qui ont l'habitude des chicken bus en Amérique du Sud, celui-ci est évidemment un modèle de luxe.

I was only 3min late and van to bus station had already left. But Khao San put me on next bus 1h later. However my earlier stop in Pranburi was not communicated to driver so i had to take a taxi back to where i wanted to go.

Wir kamen wie gefordert um 9.00 Uhr zum Check In. Eine Frau stellte uns 2 Hocker hin und liess uns warten. Ob dies schon der Chck In war, war uns unklar. Auf Klingeln reagierte niemand. Um 9.30 ging es mit der Frau und dem Fahrer zum auswärts gelegenen Busterminal. Die Beiden waren die unfreundlichsten Menschen auf unserer bisherigen Reise. An dem Busterminal kaufte die Frau uns ein Ticket und wir mussten dann bis 11.30 Uhr warten dann ging die Busfahrt los. Wir fuhren mit einem offiziellen Bus. Damit fing die Reise dann an. Der Bus und die Fahrt war interessant und gut. Es gab Wasser und ein Cheese Bürger. Wir hatten am Ende fast 2 Stunden Verspätung. Die Vermittlung über Tara Travel war aus unserer Sicht überflüssig. Das Ticket hätten wir uns zum halben Preis dort selber kaufen können und unnötige Anreise und Wartezeit hätten wir uns ersparen können.

I wanted to go to Pranburi but the lady of the office decided I will go to a city 20km before it. It makes more sense to go to the bus terminal and buy the ticket directly from the bis company. It saves about 300 Baht.

We had to change 3 times from the bus before we went away. And when we were finally in Kanchanaburi, i just got out of the bus, and they said I had to walk to the hotel. This was just at a busy street, in the middle of nowhere...

It does take you from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, but you will be brought to a bus station for a mini van transfer (without any verbal explanation however)
We were there 30 minutes in advance and the shop was still closed until 5 min before dept. time, but in the end we left precisely at the booked time
Long story short, we got there as promised but don’t expect any explanation/service apart from the vans.

A very stressful trip :
We arrived at the adress but the shop was empty and obviously closed. We called the nulber but did not understand the response and then they hung up on us. People on the street saw us struggling during half an hour (because we arrived early as indicated on the reservation). They told us where to knock (a few doors up on the left) and the woman took 10min to open the door (i think we woke her up). During this time we looked at the google reviews and saw that sometimes they just took you to the bus station if the van is not full so we started to stress out. The woman was not explaining what was gonna happen. Finally, a van arrived and we were told to get in but further information was given, we did nog know if we were going to the bus station or kanchanaburi. In the end we arrived but it was stressful. We think that if people in the street didnt help us we would never have travelled with this van.

Pas très accueillant... Déposé à une autre station de bus à la sortie de la ville pour prendre un autre bus pour Ayutthaya avec une autre compagnie. Donc forcément pas mal de retard à l’arrivée. On a regretté de pas avoir pris un taxi.

Normally we’ve booked the tourbus for this trip, but we were placed in a mini van instead. The reason that we got: ‘because this is shorter’. And indeed, it only took us 2,5 hours to reach Kanchanaburi! The drive itself was fine, no negative comments on that.

They load you into a mini bus then just take you to a bus at the bus station. Feels kind of shady. The bus you are on for the journey looks nothing like the photos.

Overall the trip was fine but as a heads up to other travellers; you pay the company and they shuttle you to the bus station, sort out your ticket for you and then leave you to get on a proper bus to Nong Khai, where you are met by a relative of one of the company who then shuttles you to the border with some info regarding how to cross. This was not bad or difficult it was just unknown to me :)

Thought it was a shuttle van going directly to my destination as shown in the photo but it turned out a bus which was not a convenient bus; less space. However you need not to worry about buying a bus ticket as an agent will accompany at a bus terminal and buy the bus ticket for you.

Die Fahrt ging super schnell. Die Route war gebucht von der Khao San Road und war definitiv unter 3,5 Std, jedoch auch dementsprechend riskant.
Der Bus war in einem desolaten Zustand, hat uns aber sicher ans Ziel gebracht.
Preis-Leistung passt. :)

Après avoir lu plusieurs commentaires mitigés, j'ai quand même décidé de partir avec cette compagnie. L'accueil était froid comme attendu mais ce n'est ce qui m'intéressait. Le voyage était impeccable, départ à l'heure, arrivée à l'heure dans un mini-bus bien confortable.
Pour les voyages, je pense que la compagnie a deux manières de procéder :
1- si le mini-bus est complet alors il vous enmene lui même à destination.
2- s'il n'est pas complet, il vous dépose à la gare routière, vous prend un ticket vers votre destination et vous demande d'attendre.

Ho viaggiato sulla tratta Bangkok Chiang Mai, il pullman quel giorno aveva le prese elettriche guaste quindi i nostri telefoni e quelli di altri si sono spenti... il problema reale però è stato un altro: l’autobus aveva una temperatura fuori da ogni limite, l’aria condizionata era impostata bassissima e siamo tutti morti di freddo dato che l’autista non ha mai voluto abbassarla nonostante le svariate sollecitazioni.
La nota positiva sono i sedili molto comodi che quasi si stendono a formare un letto. Siamo morti di freddo fate qualcosa

I think it is better to drop the people not at the busstation in Kanchaburi but nearby the trainstation if that is possible. Because the most accommodations are there in that area. For the rest perfect driver and nice trip.

The minivan was good and cool, but arrived 2 hours later on a trip to Ayutthaya from Bangkok that only should have taken 2 hours (should have arrived at 12.30, but arrived at 14.30). We had to wait for a long time on the bus station of Bangkok, this was not mentioned.

I was pleasantly surprised how clean and comfortable the ride was. Very cold which was better than too hot. Seats were a bit uncomfortable for me - one time a neck pillow would have been a huge help! The tour operator in Bangkok was lovely and we got water and a snack too!

It was OK. The bus ticket is much cheap if buy on the spot (500B). The bus is pretty old but as the travel agent said, she place the safety in the first place. With that amount of money, we can definitely find modern buses and better services.

Surprising as we had to change VAN just as going out of of Bangkok and several short stops were done, we arrived about 20 minutes late. Nevertheless it was a good day to reach our destination easily.

It was quite unclear that the bus didn’t actually leave until 7pm and we had to take another mini bus to the bus station from Tara Travel and wait there for 2 hours. This should be made clear.

El bus salió una hora tarde. No tenía wifi lo cual nos habían asegurado al hacer la reserva y no se parecía en nada al de las fotos. El baño era deplorablemente. Al subir nos dijeron que tendríamos la cena incluida en un parador y jamas pararon para comer. Si nos dieron una manta, una botella de agua y un paquete de galletitas. Los asientos eran bastante incómodos. Lo único positivo es que te incluía el taxi dentro de la ciudad vieja de Chiang Mai sin costo.

До большого автобуса везли в тесном, плохо пахнущем микроавтобусе. Выезд в Паттайю был не в 10:30, а в 12:00! Фактическое прибытие 15:00, а не в 14:00!
