Welke veerbootklassen en prijzen biedt Supercat?
De vuistregel is: hoe sneller de boot, hoe hoger de prijs. Voordat je boekt, moet je beslissen of je een snelle verbinding nodig hebt of dat een langzamere optie ook voldoet. De tarieven van de laatste zijn vaak veel voordeliger. Het verschil in reistijd kan echter aanzienlijk zijn, dus controleer altijd hoe lang de overtocht duurt voordat je je ticket boekt. Daarnaast kan de beschikbaarheid van sommige klassen beperkt zijn, waardoor vooraf reserveren noodzakelijk is. Vergeet niet om altijd te controleren vanuit welke haven je boot vertrekt en in welke haven deze aankomt, zodat je de meest geschikte optie voor je verdere reis kunt kiezen. De voordelen van reizen per veerboot
- Het nemen van een veerboot is de enige manier om sommige eilanden te bereiken. En vaak zijn dat juist enkele van de mooiste en meest paradijselijke eilanden die je altijd al hebt willen bezoeken.
- Er zijn vaak verschillende ticketklassen beschikbaar, zodat je het tarief, comfortniveau, de reistijd en het schema kunt kiezen dat het beste bij je past.
- Boek online om tijd te besparen. Op veel routes is vooraf boeken zelfs noodzakelijk. Dit geldt vooral voor langere reizen, drukke periodes zoals nationale feestdagen, lange weekenden of het hoogseizoen. Ook als jouw route slechts een beperkt aantal afvaarten per dag heeft, is het verstandig om enkele dagen van tevoren te reserveren.
- Reizen met de veerboot is een leuke ervaring. Het is bijzonder om bestemmingen die je hebt bezocht eens vanuit een ander perspectief te bekijken, namelijk vanaf het water. Bijna elke bestemming ziet er prachtig uit vanaf zee en je krijgt volop kansen om mooie foto's te maken.
Nadelen van reizen per veerboot
- Zeeziekte is voor veel passagiers de grootste zorg. Hoe langer de reis en hoe ruwer de zee, hoe groter de kans dat je last krijgt van misselijkheid. Om je reis aangenamer te maken, kun je ongeveer een half uur voor vertrek een middel tegen zeeziekte innemen en de bovenstaande aanbevelingen opvolgen.
- Veerbootreizen zijn sterk afhankelijk van het weer. Dat betekent dat afvaarten op regenachtige dagen vertraagd kunnen zijn of zelfs geannuleerd kunnen worden. Het is niet ongebruikelijk dat veerverbindingen, zelfs naar grotere eilanden, tijdens stormachtig weer meerdere dagen worden stilgelegd. Houd hier rekening mee als je veerbootreis aansluit op een vlucht, want in bepaalde periodes bestaat de kans dat je later dan verwacht op het vasteland aankomt.

Much easier than I was anticipating based on the instructions. I arrived just 25 minutes before departure time due to traffic and was worried I'd be too late, I was then a bit confused to see the office closed. Luckily a helpful local pointed me KN the right direction, with the prebooked ticket and voucher I could straight into the terminal bulling, pay my 25 pesos local tax, check in my bag (60 pesos) and get straight on the ferry. No issues with my luggage een though I was a bit nervous leaving it.
The boat was comfortable, especially in business class which was nicely air conditioned. Bags were unloaded quickly at the other end.

Still need to print travel documents which is a waste of paper. No ID checked so carried passport unnecessarily.

Booking was a mission - your site didn’t show any Ocean Jet sailings for the day I was traveling (even though there were many), too much information is required unnecessarily, the payment stage is completely stupid - if you select ‘other’ as your country, the payment is compulsorily processed in euros even though all the prices are shown in local currency. And you’re based in Singapore! WTF??
The nonsense that goes on at the pier is a joke - a couple of surly ‘baggage handlers’ basically make up the fee, which is inflated so they get extra. A total con job.

Great support and customer service. Staff helped as we moved to different view areas. We arrived on time and our luggage was readily available. Wish I knew the pork noodles we bought at the terminal was not allowed on Bohol but that was my mistake. See you on the return ride. Thomas

We arrived there early in the morning and they said that it was cancelled. Without any previous warning. They gave us the money back and said that the other company, Oceanjet, had a ferry soon. We went to buy the tickets, supposedly it was the same price, however this new one did not include the carry on baggage so we had to pay extra. The trip was ok, but the extra money and stress in the morning were unnecessary

The boat was very hard and it got some problems in the engine air filter as per mechanics wh8ch leads to a delay of more than 40 mind .

Staff was informative. Tickets can be purchased outside.The women at the information desk inside were very good.
Enter the terminal. Pay the terminal fee. To the right check in and select a seat. Check in staff were pleasant. Proceed to your gate. Supercat to the right side dock.

12go excellent company but for purposes of location pier 1 was absent in description which can be confusing for travelers when booking a grab cab. Taxi driver knew where.

Communication & information is poor. Was very hard to figure out which pier to arrive to, theres a lot of misinformation out there. When you get there, it’s one more charge after another charge. The employees hardly speak Tagalog, only their native dialect, & are rude. The ferry itself & travel across the water was good. Fast, more helpful/kind staff, fun movie to watch, & decent breakfast food. Just from online booking, to ticket office, to the info mismatching everywhere, to the baggage fee, is the hassle lame part.

Such a ball ache travelling anywhere in the Philippines. Have to always pay extra. Pay a terminal fee (how else do you think we are going to get on the ferry) pay a "loading and unloading fee" (I could have put my own bag on the boat, not worth 60 pesos), on and on. The actual ferry ride was fine but the rest was such a hassle that it overshadows the whole experience.

The system used for getting tickets and entering the building is like herding animals on a boat or in a yard. It needs to be updated. The porters were 100 percent with their service and I tipped them very good. No food or drinks served in business class upstairs.

Staff were helpful and most importantly it left when it was due to.. Unlike Starline on a previous trip which was due to leave at 7pm and they cancelled it! Then had to wait for the 9pm crossing which was postponed until 10.45pm!! And due to this I lost a night and a full day at my hotel I had paid for!!
(Far superior service with12Go Asia!!) Never use Starline!!

I bought a ticket for Feb 6 departure earlier in the week and due to the tropical storm the ferry was cancelled. Your people working the ports said I had to buy a brand new ticket for the following day . I could try and get a refund from the original port. They told me I need to contact customer support. I feel it is just a shell game of pointing finger and not accomplishing anything other than to take people’s money.

The vessel is obviously worn out (leather seats tattered, not all seats have tray tables) and you can smell gasoline inside the vessel that I had to wear face mask for the duration of the trip. The partnered shuttle to Tacloban does not come with a transfer vehicle. Each passenger will have to individually find their way to the shuttle terminal from the port.
