Wat zijn de minibusklassen en prijzen van RTC Transport?

Het is normaal gesproken niet mogelijk om een ticketklasse te kiezen als je met een busje reist. Toch kun je bij de vervoerder navragen welk type busje op jouw route rijdt. Sommige busjes bieden plaats aan slechts 9 tot 10 passagiers, andere aan maximaal 15 passagiers. In het eerste geval heb je meer beenruimte, bredere stoelen en een comfortabelere rit. De voordelen van reizen per busje

  • Busjes komen vaak op bestemmingen waar geen bus of trein komt. Dit omvat secundaire steden en kleinere dorpen.
  • In de meeste gevallen zijn busjes de snelste manier om relatief korte afstanden over land af te leggen, simpelweg omdat ze kleiner zijn dan bussen.
  • Met busjes kun je uitstappen op een gunstiger punt onderweg en niet noodzakelijkerwijs bij de terminal. Dat kan je in sommige gevallen veel tijd en geld besparen.

Nadelen van reizen per busje

  • Sommige busjes kunnen behoorlijk krap zijn en bieden weinig ruimte voor bagage. Eigenlijk geldt dat voor bijna alle busjes. Als je meer dan één tas, koffer of rugzak hebt, kan het een goed idee zijn om een extra zitplaats voor je bagage te kopen. Helaas betaal je dan wel dubbel voor je reis.
  • Het is de moeite waard om te controleren of je busje volgens een vaste dienstregeling rijdt of pas vertrekt wanneer het vol is. In dat laatste geval kun je soms lang moeten wachten, omdat het op bepaalde routes behoorlijk wat tijd kan kosten voordat alle plaatsen bezet zijn.
  • Je moet weten dat chauffeurs berucht zijn om hun snelle rijstijl. Zelfs de meest gerenommeerde bedrijven slagen er soms niet in ervoor te zorgen dat chauffeurs zich aan de snelheidslimieten houden. Ook als de chauffeur er niet op aandringt, moet je altijd je veiligheidsgordel dragen.
  • Als je gemakkelijk wagenziek wordt en je reis kronkelige wegen bevat, is de kans groter dat je last krijgt van wagenziekte in een busje dan in een gewone bus. Neem voor de zekerheid ongeveer een half uur voor vertrek een middel tegen wagenziekte in.

Goed geregeld, chauffeur was op tijd en eerder gearriveerd dan gepland. Fijn dat er op de helft een pauze tussen zat, was wel handig geweest als dit vooraf werd verteld.

Deze man wilde zo snel mogelijk van a naar b komen wat hij deed door zo hard mogelijk te rijden, alles en iedereen in te halen op punten die niet overzichtelijk waren. Meerdere keren mijn hoofd gestoten omdat hij weer zo achterlijk over slechte wegen reed. Blij dat we heel zijn aangekomen..

It was on time, the driver drove well, we were on time at the arrival place. The only thing is that the driver insisted for me to change place to leave it for another guy and I didn't like that as I sat down there first so didn't get why I should move after.

Good transport service with RTC in Krabi. The van was comfortable and the ride was smooth. Perfect option for transfers in the area. However, 12Go sent us a confusing email telling us to go to the RTC office but without any address or directions, which made it a bit difficult to find. The driver was friendly, packed all our luggage on well, and stopped for 20 mins at a great rest stop - with 7/11, Cafe Amazon, clean toilets and some other food stands. We arrived earlier than expected too.

Comfortable seats and air conditioning, however the driver was an hour earlier than expected. He was really friendly and allowed us time to get ready but I feel that we could have received notification of this prior. Also, the breaks on the van vibrated a lot, suggesting the pads had worn away which was a bit scary.

We were dropped off in Ao Nang, rather than at our hotel in Klong Muang, despite the voucher stating that only Tubkaek hotels would not be drop off points. Other passengers were also heading to Klong Muang, and they were contacted by the service provider in advance to let them know, whereas we were not. In addition, the driver was very nice, but he drove extremely fast, and the AC in the van was very weak, meaning it was very hot inside.

The van arrived at our hotel half an hour late, but I didn’t deduct a star for that, as this can easily be due to other passengers. Everything else was very good. I always felt safe during the journey, we took a 20-minute break at a fairly large rest area, and we arrived on time. Would (and did) book again.

Payed for drop off at hotel then got told not dropping off at hotel got dropped off half an hour away from my hotel. When picked up, 2 people did not arrive on time, so we went to pick up more people driving for an hour and then came back for them where we started, Delaying us making us late.

Pick up went smooth. Nice driver, clean car. Ferry staff was not the nicest. Treated customers rude, arrived 45 min late. Therefore, my hotel pick up person was no longer waiting for me which meant that I had to carry my luggage for 20 min to get to the accomodation on Phi Phi.

In the booking procedure I couldn’t find the window to tell our flight-no and arrival-time. I wrote it as a message, that I don’t know how much time we need to get our luggage. I didn’t know that it is a private pickup. So I gave more time as needed. At the pickup no we were 1 h too early. So we were a bit lost there. Everybody was gone. We thought we had to wait 1h. Fortunately the driver gave me a call and we didn’t loose too much time. He was very friendly and made it ebenen possible to get us a ferry earlier than booked. Excellent!

The van that picked us up barely has working AC and enough room for everyone’s bags. It was a long drive in sweltering heat. It was not enjoyable. Once we got on the ferry it was fine.

It said it would pick you up in Khao Sok, but didn't specify the location or exclude anything like other services, which is why we chose it. We bought it two days in advance, and just 1.5 hours before, they notified us that our hotel wasn't included. We had to take a taxi, and we weren't even sure they were running. We couldn't schedule it because of the short notice. If they saw the reservation and the pickup location, they should have notified us earlier so we could schedule it in advance or cancel the service.

Overall our experience was ok. The driver drove carefully. Pick up was also good. BUT we expected to have a travel of 2 1/2 hour. Instead we drove not the direct way. In sum it took us about 5 hours ca., cause we drove through the national park Khao Sok. An information in advance would have been helpful.
