Het is normaal gesproken niet mogelijk om een ticketklasse te kiezen als je met een busje reist. Toch kun je bij de vervoerder navragen welk type busje op jouw route rijdt. Sommige busjes bieden plaats aan slechts 9 tot 10 passagiers, andere aan maximaal 15 passagiers. In het eerste geval heb je meer beenruimte, bredere stoelen en een comfortabelere rit. - Busjes komen vaak op bestemmingen waar geen bus of trein komt. Dit omvat secundaire steden en kleinere dorpen.

Nadelen van reizen per busje
- Sommige busjes kunnen behoorlijk krap zijn en bieden weinig ruimte voor bagage. Eigenlijk geldt dat voor bijna alle busjes. Als je meer dan één tas, koffer of rugzak hebt, kan het een goed idee zijn om een extra zitplaats voor je bagage te kopen. Helaas betaal je dan wel dubbel voor je reis.
- Het is de moeite waard om te controleren of je busje volgens een vaste dienstregeling rijdt of pas vertrekt wanneer het vol is. In dat laatste geval kun je soms lang moeten wachten, omdat het op bepaalde routes behoorlijk wat tijd kan kosten voordat alle plaatsen bezet zijn.
- Je moet weten dat chauffeurs berucht zijn om hun snelle rijstijl. Zelfs de meest gerenommeerde bedrijven slagen er soms niet in ervoor te zorgen dat chauffeurs zich aan de snelheidslimieten houden. Ook als de chauffeur er niet op aandringt, moet je altijd je veiligheidsgordel dragen.
- Als je gemakkelijk wagenziek wordt en je reis kronkelige wegen bevat, is de kans groter dat je last krijgt van wagenziekte in een busje dan in een gewone bus. Neem voor de zekerheid ongeveer een half uur voor vertrek een middel tegen wagenziekte in.

There might be a mistake in the schedule; this ticket includes a bus and ferry and takes ~3.5 hours total, not 2 hours.
Also, for some reason, the check-in at Trang took 25 minutes (even though there was nobody in line); inexplicably, the ticket clerk could not issue a ticket until 5 minutes before the bus departed.

We were supposed to be at Satun Bus Station by 10, instead we arrived at 11 when our ferry was gonna go 11.30. We almost missed our ferry and our driver was picking up people and packages which made the trip take longer time.

Good people but my scheduled 0900 minivan did not show so I had to wait for the 1000 minivan. The driver stacked boxes in front of me so my legroom was limited. We arrived in Surat Thani 50 minutes late for a 1000 minivan so I got there 110 minutes after I was told to expect for my scheduled 0900 trip.
Driver was courteous and drove carefully.
Not a great trip but not a terrible one either.

When I arrived at the terminal in Trang, the lady tried to scam me into paying her a high sum for a taxi to my hotel once we arrived on the island, saying it was inaccessible due to a cave next to it…totally false. Then, the 2hr trip was easily 3 hrs due to frequent stops to pick up and drop various people and supplies, aircon didn’t work and the unfriendly driver wouldn’t let us open windows. Just a poor experience overall. We arrived and no one died, so I guess that’s something to be grateful for.

The minibuses were extremely crammed and very uncomfortable but more importantly, the driving was really erratic and felt unsafe.
There was no communication at all regarding the stops and connections, they just said "wait here". Here, where exactly? For how long, and for what? I understand people may not speak English, but they could have prepared a written note, for example.
We reached the final destination 2 hours after the estimated time. At this point I feel lucky that I arrived at all.

DON'T BOOK HERE! YOU GOT SCAMMED!!
It doesn't matter what you agreed on. In there therms they said they can change anything, so instead of a minivan they put you on local bus. And instead of a speedboat they puth you on a cargo... Really bad experience!! A local bus is no problem, but it is if you paid for more...
They overbooked the chairs, so big kid had to sit at the woman next to me. She puked 3 times next to me...
I travelled a lot in Asia, so ofcourse I know things can turn out a little bit differently. But this was really a scam. Don't book here!!

The UBS was broken but the bus was quite comfortable. My main issue was that we arrived about an hour late, not because of traffic but because the driver was driving around picking up packages and delivering them. Why not pick the packages up before collecting the passengers.
That said, he seemed to drive safely and it was a smooth journey.
