Het is normaal gesproken niet mogelijk om een ticketklasse te kiezen als je met een busje reist. Toch kun je bij de vervoerder navragen welk type busje op jouw route rijdt. Sommige busjes bieden plaats aan slechts 9 tot 10 passagiers, andere aan maximaal 15 passagiers. In het eerste geval heb je meer beenruimte, bredere stoelen en een comfortabelere rit. De voordelen van reizen per busje
- Busjes komen vaak op bestemmingen waar geen bus of trein komt. Dit omvat secundaire steden en kleinere dorpen.
- In de meeste gevallen zijn busjes de snelste manier om relatief korte afstanden over land af te leggen, simpelweg omdat ze kleiner zijn dan bussen.
- Met busjes kun je uitstappen op een gunstiger punt onderweg en niet noodzakelijkerwijs bij de terminal. Dat kan je in sommige gevallen veel tijd en geld besparen.
Nadelen van reizen per busje
- Sommige busjes kunnen behoorlijk krap zijn en bieden weinig ruimte voor bagage. Eigenlijk geldt dat voor bijna alle busjes. Als je meer dan één tas, koffer of rugzak hebt, kan het een goed idee zijn om een extra zitplaats voor je bagage te kopen. Helaas betaal je dan wel dubbel voor je reis.
- Het is de moeite waard om te controleren of je busje volgens een vaste dienstregeling rijdt of pas vertrekt wanneer het vol is. In dat laatste geval kun je soms lang moeten wachten, omdat het op bepaalde routes behoorlijk wat tijd kan kosten voordat alle plaatsen bezet zijn.
- Je moet weten dat chauffeurs berucht zijn om hun snelle rijstijl. Zelfs de meest gerenommeerde bedrijven slagen er soms niet in ervoor te zorgen dat chauffeurs zich aan de snelheidslimieten houden. Ook als de chauffeur er niet op aandringt, moet je altijd je veiligheidsgordel dragen.
- Als je gemakkelijk wagenziek wordt en je reis kronkelige wegen bevat, is de kans groter dat je last krijgt van wagenziekte in een busje dan in een gewone bus. Neem voor de zekerheid ongeveer een half uur voor vertrek een middel tegen wagenziekte in.

We moesten 1 uur en 10 minuten wachten op de ferry omdat de chauffeur er te lang over deed. Het kwam niet door het verkeer, maar doordat hij 10 thaise mensen thuis moest afzetten.

The entire trip went absolutely smoothly from start to finish.
The bus was equipped with a great air conditioning system, making the ride very comfortable. Once we reached the pier, we transferred straight onto the boat without any waiting around. Everything was remarkably fast, and staff members were stationed everywhere to clearly point out where to go, so it was impossible to get lost. Every single part of the journey ran right on schedule.

The return trip with this company was a major letdown compared to the way there.
We had to leave the pier at 9:00 AM just to arrive at the station by 9:10 AM, only for the connecting bus to depart at 10:00 AM—a completely pointless 50-minute waste of time. To top it off, the bus itself was in terrible condition. The entire journey was filled with an annoying, constant squeaking from either the transmission or the suspension. At least we made it back safely.

We were late for 7 minutes because of horrible traffic, even though we came out 40 minutes earlier to be beforehand for the start of the trip, and we didnt have any opportunity to contact any support. So we had to buy new tickets and it turned out that to buy it at the ticket office is much chipper even with boat ticket included. And we didnt have to book any thing, because nobody was going there. You could at least give an opportunity to go on the next bus for free...

very comfortable journey. The bus arrived 35 minutes before the boat was ready so I was just waiting by the pier but it's better to be early than late! There wasn't much communication but it did the job and got me there safe. Small minivan so my tip is not to bring too much luggage. It has USB ports which was a nice touch.

There was too many changes from Ko Samet to Bangkok, and Tawan Agency didn't notify me. First the speedboat arrived 30 mins late. Nobody at the cashier recognized the name, then when it arrives there was no indicator either of 12go nor from Tawan Tour Agency. The boat supposedly to be called Theater but the right one was called Stellar. Then, in the port the guy there waiting didn't ask me or respond to my questions about the bus. I was very very very lucky to find a lady who helped me.

Our Bus was one hour delayed. They said it was because of an accident but we have arrived at 9 am, the bus was there, the driver was there but it wasn’t until 10:30 till we left (scheduled was 9:30) we arrived at Koh samet at 14:45. so more than 1,5 hour later than expected and our day was basically spent with traveling. The driver was also dropping some people of on the way which made the whole drive even longer. Would not book again!

The driver charged extra payment for a luggage that is lower than 7 kgs. It was indicated in your ticket that every passengers is entitled for a hand carry luggage for free, but the driver charged everyone with luggage.

It was very well organized. Once you find the counter you are lead to the bus, then at the pier you have to show your ticket at the ticket counter, they send you to the boat. The bus is okay, but the leg space is mini.

Gets you to where you need to be, even stops for toilet break. The only problem I had was they charged me for my bag. Upon booking my trip, I was aware that I could only bring 1 "big luggage" up to 20kg - and that's what I did. However, the driver assumed my bag weighed more. He did not even double check the weigh with a scale - he simply assumed!
He called the ticket lady over and she asked me for 100THB. Simply ridiculous.
The rest of the ride was nothing special, but quick and and cheap enough.

The people at the harbour lied to me to try and get me onto the slow boat when I had paid for the speed boat and it said so on the ticket (in Thai and English) Had to wait 45 minutes for the bus to leave. Mini bus very comfy, speedboat cramped and smelt strongly of fuel.

Row 4 (right side) on the minibus is much smaller than other seats. One person would easily fit into 1.5 seats on that row and the other person would only fit half the seat, yet the provider is selling that row as two seats. Extremely disappointed. Unfortunately those were the only seats available for us.
