De prijs van je busreis hangt af van zowel de bestemming als de klasse van je ticket. We willen je erop wijzen dat niet alle ticketklassen beschikbaar zijn op bepaalde routes, maar voor langere reizen is er bijna altijd een goede keuze beschikbaar. Kies voor een slaapbus voor de meest comfortabele reis met overnachting. Slaapbussen zijn meestal uitgerust met ligplaatsen of zachte stoelen met verstelbare rugleuning, hebben een toilet aan boord en je ticket kan ook andere extra's bevatten zoals snacks of zelfs een lunch of avondmaaltijd. Een nachtbus nemen is ook een goed idee als je wilt besparen op je hotelkamer. Overdag is een expresbus vaak het voordeligst, omdat deze minder vaak stopt dan een gewone of standaardklasse bus. Dit betekent dat je sneller op je bestemming aankomt. Op sommige routes kan het van cruciaal belang zijn om de juiste klasse te kiezen, want een gewone of tweede klas bus kan bijvoorbeeld 6 uur nodig hebben om de afstand af te leggen, daar waar een eerste klas of expresbus in twee uur je bestemming bereikt!

De voordelen van reizen met de bus
- Bussen hebben meestal het breedste netwerk van bestemmingen. Ze reizen naar plaatsen waar je met het vliegtuig of zelfs met de trein niet kunt komen.
- Reizen met de bus is gemakkelijk, want je hoeft niet lang van tevoren in de busterminal te zijn, en het inchecken is meestal een zeer snelle formaliteit in tegenstelling tot reizen met het vliegtuig.
- Buskaartjes zijn zeer betaalbaar. Ja, er zijn dure eerste klas of VIP-opties, maar als je slechts een beperkt budget hebt, is de bus je beste keuze.
- Tegelijkertijd zijn er verschillende klassen van dienstverlening voor elk budget. Als je op zoek bent naar een hoger niveau van comfort, dan heb je hiervoor de keuze.
De nadelen van reizen met de bus
- Bepaalde busterminals kunnen zich buiten het stadscentrum in de buitenwijken bevinden. Dat betekent dat je rekening moet houden met extra tijd en geld om naar deze busterminals te reizen. Op bepaalde bestemmingen kan je dit meer geld kosten dan je zou verwachten, omdat slechts een beperkt aantal vervoersmaatschappijen de route mag bedienen en de prijzen kunnen zijn opgedreven.
- Tijdens drukke weekenden of in het hoogseizoen kunnen bussen die sommige toeristische bestemmingen verzorgen, volgeboekt zijn en moet je van tevoren reserveren.
- Hoewel bussen niet zo afhankelijk zijn van het weer als veerboten, kunnen busreizen ook worden vertraagd of geannuleerd als gevolg van slecht weer of wegomstandigheden. Houd hier rekening mee als je tijdens bepaalde seizoenen of naar bepaalde bestemmingen reist.

The supporter was so helpful, he was always there when I have any question. The trip was smooth in co-operating between all the transportation from Cambodia to VietNam. The road from Sihanoukville to Kampot was very bad due to the poor infrustructure. I appreciate working with Ha Tien Xanh. Thank you very much. The service we received (via WhatsApp) from Ha Tien Xanh Travel was amazing. In the lead up they answered my many questions (I was anxious about crossing the border and catching the ferry with my two young kids), and then when we did have visa problems at the border (because I mistakenly only had a single entry visa) he helped us through it all and even got the ferry to wait a few minutes for us so we didn’t miss it. I am so grateful and would highly recommend!!! 12Go isn’t always quick to respond but having a direct WhatsApp number to the company was very helpful.

What I didn't like at all was the lack of clear instructions on 12GO Asia. Yes, there's a guide for this exact route: HCMC - Ha Tien / Prek Chak border - Kampot. It's mostly about visa questions. But there's no clear information on which bus it is, meaning its operator; there was no chance to choose a seat. My seat was the worst, just like for other foreigners with me in the back upper bunks under extreme A/C. Absolutely the worst seats possible. When we reached the border, we switched to a minivan, and after the border, another minivan. Once again, no clear instructions. Everything is up to God's will. Although there's a contact number for a person, whoever it is, on WhatsApp/Zalo, he or she replied immediately and gave me good instructions regardless of the time of day. Who was this person? I have zero understanding. Also, on this booking PDF from Asia 12GO was the name of the company that carries the route transport, although I never saw this operator's name with my own eyes in a real situation. Its name is "Ha Tien Xanh Travel". Next time, I'd rather go myself to this Western Bus Station in HCMC and buy myself a ticket from a physical office sales point, or use another app, its name I cannot place here for ethical reasons.

Everything was great. The work is fine, the ferry tickets were provided, we were met at the pier and taken to the border, after passing we were also met and taken to the destination. They accompany you all the way and provide you with the necessary information.

Amazing Service!! Our ferry was cancelled due to bad weather and the helped us the whole way until we could finally use the ferry the next day. They were always available for contact and even provided shuttle service for our stopover hotel. Definitely would book again!

Strange set up and not clearly explained but we got from a to b. The pick up place had little info and we drove down an alley to fetch a table which made us wonder what was happening. We were dropped at the border and walked across to the other side. Waited for a while for another bus to pick us up. We had no idea what was happening as the driver sent the info to another passenger but not us, fortunately we were able to ask her for the info as she spoke some English. In Vietnam it was easier, we were dropped at the ferry and given our tickets for the boat etc. Easy to get Grab from PQ ferry side though taxi drivers kept insisting there was none and we should go with them. Incorrect.
Overall it was ok, we just trusted it would work out. Might unnerve some if alone as it wasn’t always clear what was happening.

Bus left on time, arrived on time. We didn't get any free water unfortunately, the bus did get a flat tire but it was quickly fixed within about 20 minutes. Clear instructions when we cross the border in terms of getting off the bus and then using the next bus. The bus however was a little bit cramped wouldn't want to be in it for much longer than we were.

The trip was super relaxed: ferry, minibus to the border, the driver took a photo of me so the next driver could find me, the visa counter was completely empty, passport control, no line. On the other side of the border, a new driver picked me up, and my hotel was actually on the way to the final stop, so I was able to get off right in front of the hotel’s front door :) 10/10!

Pre-Tripped communication in WhatsApp was great and much appreciated. Wow! While the bed on the bus was comfortable for my 5 ft 2-in wife, it was way too short for me at 6 ft 1 in tall. The bus stopped at multiple locations. Never was a message given to indicate how long the bus would be stopped. The operator of the bus had no patience for passengers, rules were not giving out in Vietnamese, much less any other language and of passengers. Didn't know what to do and did the wrong thing. The operator at the bus had zero patience. The positives are that the bus was timely. The transfer between ferry and bus was smooth and the bus was in great condition.

Overall, not bad. But we changed 4 different transports and there was no clear assistance especially when crossing the border. Also it was needed to wait one hour the last bus. And the arrival time was later for about 30 min than estimated one, even though we could decrease the time of last stop for dinner since there was only couple hours left to get to the destination

Poor quality Bus.
The toilet stop was doing pee pee directly into the water.
On the photo it was a high quality Mercedes Bus but in reality it was an old bus without seat belts.
Apart from that everything was on time but treated a bit like cattle …

In the terminal Vietnamese driver met me and took me to the border. I crossed the border with no problems.

Good experience. Vehicle was on-time, very comfortable and not overloaded. They also picked me up from my hotel which was very helpful. The only thing is that you have to walk across the border yourself which is a faff but not the operator's fault.

No one spoke even a tiny bit English, nor did they try. When we stop for a break I had no idea how much time we would rest there which made deciding to eat or just use the facilities difficult.

The seats were comfy and the bus wasn’t full at all but that was the only positive. The driver and another worker were so rude, we stopped for dinner and were given about 10 minutes to order and eat a meal. The driver rudely and aggressively shouted at us to ‘go now’ and knocked hard on the table we were sat to get our attention. This was after the journey was taking longer than it should have been so obviously the dinner stop was cut short so they could try and make up some time they’d lost. We were over an hour late to HCM. I wouldn’t recommend the company purely because of the rude staff, we were rushed at every instance. Even when getting off they just kept pointing at our bags and shouting at us.

It would be helpful if the drivers explained more about there being three different vehicles that were going to be taken, how long each journey would take, when stops off would be and perhaps a bit more about how the land border worked. Nothing was communicated so no one knew what was happening and was very confusing. Arrived 3 hours later than planned. Any tall people would struggle with the sleeper bus during the last leg of the journey as there's not much leg space and you'd have to have your bags on your feet or lap in a tight enclosed space
