It was so damn cold. It felt like 16-17 degrees. However, I slept like a Baby. And such a night train is just awesome from a time Perspective (not Llosing too much). Would do again.
We will just remember to put on some more cloth.
Oh and better ask for the prices of food and beverages on the train. They are quite expensive.

Ik heb deze trein al vaker genomen van bangkok naar chaing mai en andersom. Ongeveer 4/5 keer totaal.
Elke keer prima ervaring mer 12go nooit problemen. De trein zelf is altijd op tijd en schoon. Personeel in de trein is heel vriendelijk. Het enige nadeel is de airco die hard blaast.
Tevens was het voor mij niet mogelijk om een digitale ticket te krijgen. Het ophalen bij het hoofdkantoor in bangkok is helaas ook een nadeel

Too small bed for me, I am tall and also AC too cold but overall it was okay;) I would add some power socket in upper bed because there are some only very low and I couldn’t charge my phone.

Train was delayed by 10 minutes, but the train staff were helpful - no information on the notice boards.
The train was quiet and clean, everyone was asleep by 10pm with nobody snoring! We felt very lucky, as we got a good sleep in. No train changes and few stops, everyone was lovely onboard, lots of other backpackers.

Die Tickets wurden nicht zum Hotel gesendet wie anfangs ausgewählt, der Versand wurde erstattet aber war etwas doof da wir wie Tickets so noch kurzfristig abholen mussten.
Die Fahrt ging vom neuen Bahnhof in Bangkok aus, der wirklich einfach mit der BTS zu erreichen war.
Das Gleis war leicht zu finden und der Checkin war Problemlos.
Man konnte auf alle Fälle gut schlafen, toller Vibe im Nachtzug, es gab Essen und war ein totaler Traum im Süden bei Sonnenaufgang wach zu werden. Werde ich in Zukunft immer machen um in den Süden zu kommen! Tolle Erfahrung, unbedingt ausprobieren :-)

Jeg havde booket en underkøje (da jeg er dårligt gående) men da jeg skulle hente billetterne på 12goasia´s kontor var der sket en fejl så der var istedet booket en overkøje. Og der var ikke flere underkøjer ledige. Fik kun en beklagelse men ikke kompensation. Virkelig dårlig kundeservice.

Everything super smooth. First Class Sleeper cabins are awesome, though I was impressed by 2nd Class cabin too, only a curtain for privacy but hey you're sleeping anyway!

I was pleased with my trip. Before the journey, my concerns were overcrowding, a sleepless night, having to set up the berth myself, and hunger. But my fears were unfounded. The train was uncrowded, I slept comfortably in a cozy berth, and a male attendant set up the berths himself. I was never hungry nor thirsty, because there were a lot of hawkers boarding the train from time to time to sell foodstuff. I now know that Thai Railways made sure it's passengers would be satisfied.

12go was great, easy to use website and the ticket office staff in Bangkok were so friendly and helpful. I was worried that our tickets wouldn’t be there, but there was no need to worry at all. The night train was so well organised, we stayed in the second class sleeper, it was hard to sleep but that’s to be expected. Overall great experience.

The train was great - clean, brand new and one of the safest transportation. It'll be better if the service provider can provide a cafeteria or at least a hot water service on the train since the journey took 20hr from Hatyai to Hua Lamphong.
And also need to train the staff in the parcel room as it creates confusion when we wanted to collect our online tickets. They do not know where and how to redeem our tickets!

Great trip comfy train and easy to pick up the tickets. If you are a light sleeper be sure to bring an eye cover and ear plugs.

Advise. Do the nighttrain number 83 lower bed with window since there's no window on the upper bed. You get to see things. Around 2000 hrs they make up your bed, cabin. Cozy and good sleeping afterwards. No regrets. I have done this 4x already from Bangkok to Surat. When arriving in Surat people are basically waiting at the station of 12go Asia for your minivan ticket to the islands.

Travelled from Surat Thani train station to Bangkok Hua Lampong. Very easy to collect tickets at Surat Thani from the parcel room within train station. Staff knew about ticket collection and had all the envelopes containing the tickets with the names of passengers on the front so we could look through and find ours. We travelled first class on the 86 express train. Very comfortable trip, 2 beds in bunkbed style all ready for us when we boarded. In the morning a train conductor came around changing the beds back into seats for us. Train did stop many times throughout the night and the cabin was quite cold as couldn't turn AC off. The cabin is spacious enough, we had 2 suitcases and 2 40L backpacks and were able to store them fine. There was no food served on the train so I really recommend getting something beforehand and bringing snacks. We arrived about 30mins late into Bangkok and were able to get a taxi very easily outside the station. I would recommend this journey :)

The train itself was okay, though very cold (temperature difference inside/outside along train information system about 12 celtigrade). The train was sharp in time, clean, some type of rough. Blunt beds but somewhat comfortable (2nd class sleeper AC). Had to get up about 9 a.m. cause they wanted to change the beds to seats again . The light never went off, it was all the time quite bright and loud because of the air condition, but after you get used to this, you sleep safe and sound.
The service of 12Go was finally not to helpful. It to hours to find out, that I can only book trains with refund options, but 12go offered help and took the issue serious. But until they managed it to book tickets for my, I already found out and managed it myself. But afterwards they cancelled my ticket booked with them and paid parts of the fee back, with the announcement, they would have to handle it different, but I definitely had then surprisingly no tickets at all two days before my leave to Bangkok with my 5 headed family. Now my relatives in Surathani bought the tickets directly. After I did so I got news from 12 Go Asia on Saturday and about 24h before my train would leave, that they managed it to book my tickets now, too. The tickets I buied myself were almost half the price (4700 THB vs 250€(8900 THB)) until now (2 days later 12Go paied 49€ back).

Hello, thank you for booking the tickets and sending them to me. I am not satisfied with the train journey because I assumed that I would have the cabin just for myself. I booked a first class sleeper so that I could enjoy private time, read a book and sleep in a train. I did NOT expect to be sharing my cabin with some random guy. It was a weird experience. If I knew that I would be sharing a cabin with somebody I would have saved my money and traveled in second class. I wanted a PRIVATE CABIN. That is the reason why I bought a first class ticket. Your customers will always assume that if they are booking a first class cabin that they will be ALONE in the cabin, not sharing. Please provide this option on your website and please clearly tell customers that they will be forced to share a room with somebody. It's not fair that I paid so much money and then I had to share the room. I really did not enjoy that experience. I hope that I do not have to share a cabin again on the way home.

Fuimos en coche cama 1ra clase que tienes tú cabina privada para ti y un acompañante (en literas),los baños son compartidos y hay una ducha. El servicio muy bien, puntual y amables. Es un poco difícil dormir por el movimiento… no le doy 5 estrellas por que en tantas horas me falto un servicio de comidas o un bar …. Llevar la cena con vosotros :)

I booked a full cabin for our daughter to travel overnight Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Booking and ticketing with 12GO was a breeze from the US. Quick customer support response by email from their end to answer any questions I had and to confirm that I really did want a full cabin. FYI, full first class cabin is really not needed, so probably would just book a single bunk next time. She had no issues with ticket pickup in Chiang Mai just before her travel and had a great experience. In her words: easy checkin, excellent help in getting my large baggage on and off and making sure I knew when to get off, comfy cabin, good blankets, made sure I went to get food before we left, absolutely beautiful. Would do it again.

We booked the Tickets online and picked them up at the 12Go office in Bangkok. Everything went well. We booked a first class sleeping cabine for two persons from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and could sleep very well. Really nice experience and much more enjoyable than a flight. We cannot rate the food because we did not try.

We had a nice experience on the night train. It was very clean and on time. The airco was cold, so bring a sweater. The lights stay on the entire night, so bring something to cover your eyes. Due to covid there were no food services on the train, so you can best bring your own food.

Train facilities were comfortable and great (sleeping coach, shower, toilet etc). The journey was quite bumpy so hopefully that can be improved in future. Also, my husband was scolded by the cleaning lady after he gotten out of the toilet, so I think that was quite rude, hope that can be improved as well.

great ride to Chiang Mai... Good service especially at Don Meuong, an officer noticed I was looking like I'd lost my dog, approached me and had me follow him to the parcel office to give me my tickets, this was afterhours so I was particularly grateful, as the phone in that office had never had anyone pick up though I'd called several times to try and arrange a late pick up. Not just that, but when I noticed this issue about the parcel office being closed I was about to board the plane for bangkok, I opened up a service request on the 12go site, and had an answer with a phone number and twoo solution possibilities within minutes, it cannot have even been ten minutes. Thank you 12go!

Very long journey, but great value for the price, and jungle scenery! Train staff were incredibly attentive, served snacks and food, and we were (surprisingly) only 10 minutes late arriving into Chiang Mai.

We booked online and gave our Thai number. They called us couple of hours later to check if we take the connection and send us an email to confirm once more. Once everything was confirmed, we picked up the ticket at the ticket office of 12go.asia 1 hour before the departure. Just make sure that it takes couple of hours and try to book in advance.

Bang Sue is a perfect station to leave from. Not chaotic and right at the metro station. Train comfort 2nd class is great. Negative is that the lights stay on all night long. Make sure to buy some food at the station because on the train there is only water.

I took the train first class. To me, that is the way to go overnight. It was over 17 hours, but it didn't feel like it. I had a compartment with a bed and a sink, plus an electrical outlet, all to myself. The only drawback was I got very little sleep because the motion and the people in the compartment next to me were watching a movie till midnight, but that is not the fault of the railway. Helpful and friendly staff.

The driver asked us to double the price we agreed on Crab to do the ride. He argued that the price offered by Crab is not enough.
He then stopped to eat on the way and went to the toilet. And then made another stop to go to the toilet without properly telling us: if we had wanted to go, it was too late when we realized that it was to go to the toilet...
