Great service. It is worth to pay for priority support. The train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya was an amazing experience. The train was late but that did not matter as this gave us more time to enjoy the landscape.

Overall great experience. Immediately after booking (34 days prior train departure) we received an email with a booking confirmation, however, it took very long until we received the ticket confirmation/voucher (11 days prior train departure). The shipping of tickets went smooth, however, we never received an email confirming the shipment of the tickets as it was mentioned in the ticket confirmation email.
So overall the train ride was superb, just a little bite nerve killing waiting for confirmation or hoping tickets will arrive:)

The views were amazing and the towns charming. I loved that the windows open right up making the cabin comfortable and aerated and great for photo taking.
Booking via 12go website saved us time and effort. The tickets delivered securely to our hotel too. Will definitely use 12go for future trips

Excellent service .. like clockwork. I ordered 3 sets of tickets and had them delivered to my hotel. I was refused the delivery charge for two sets of tickets as they were out in the same envelope.. very impressive.
Don't bank on definite train times as these can vary from that specified.

Service is great and really well organised. I booked over a month in advance, so I wrote them to check what was the status and they answered immediately and very nicely. Got tickets delivered to hotel and received a confirmation message, so that I knew they were there. Rain ride was beautiful and certainly a highlight of our trip :)

Everything went smooth as planned. We received our tickets when we arrived our 1st hotel. The only disappointment was that we shouldn't have picket 1st class, but 2sd instead, as 1st was boring. This is not fault of the company of course.

We booked our 2nd class reserve seats one month in advance. We paid for the tickets to be delivered to our hotel in Negombo. We had good email communication when we booked, and the tickets were waiting for us at the hotel. I was a bit worried about the process, but everything worked perfectly, and the train journey was amazing!!!

We had the two seats in the back of the train that don't sit next to a window. Eventhough this is one of the most scenic train rides, it doesn't matter if you can't see. 12 go Asia service and communication was good.

Delivery was tricky with the awful events going on in Sri Lanka, but customer service were incredibly responsive and re-arranged delivery to our next hotel with plenty of time to spare.

I admit it was one of my best experiences with train ride. This journey opened my eyes to one of the most scenic places that i never think would exist. Boarding the train was smooth and we get our seats accordingly based on our tickets. Since we are traveling in 3, we get to see the magnificent views from both sides of the windows. However, it was so lucky that our train wasn’t full at that time so we get to move around to catch the views from both sides of the train. Our tickets was supposed to be from Kandy to Ella but our kind driver offered to bring us around to visit spice garden and tea factory which only can be reached via road trip and we would definitely missed it if we board the train from kandy. He suggested us to board at Nanu-Oya to Ella instead (2.5hrs ride and the best views starts from there). The whole trip was fun and worth it all... make sure to save your phones or cameras’ battery full and sufficient memory spaces for your snaps.. Enjoy!

Partially really nice views! Plenty of place on the 2nd class. Train was on time. We were sitting backwards which made me travel sick a bit and we only had a partial window on our spot. Not too many touts or vendors a plus! There was a violental incident in the train and it had to stop along the way and the violent person had to leave the train.

Not a good experience with 12go.Asia. I had paid for the tickets Colombo to Nanuoya 2 months prior. They were confirmed 3 weeks before the trip. I was told I the tickets could be sent to my hotel. I paid additional 10 $ for this service. Upon arrival in the hotel the tickets were not there. Communication was poor to non existent with 12go. we did receive our tickets until late afternoon before the train departed. MUCH better communication is needed to prewarn possible complications. Only several hours before is not good enough considering the karge additional payment for the convenience of knowing we have our travel arranged.

As other reviewers have said, the process of booking through 12go.asia is not straightforward. I am not sure how much this is their issue or the difficulties of dealing with Sri Lankan railways. Despite being promised my voucher (not the ticket itself) between 10 and 30 days before travel, my voucher arrived less than three days in advance, making it necessary for me to pay extra for the tickets to be delivered to the hotel. However the company did deliver on time and the online support staff responded quickly efficiently to my enquiries. The rail trip itself was enjoyable and just about punctual, but on balance not worth the troubles involved in booking or the cost. Hopefully, Sri Lanka Railways will allow online booking soon.
