旅行の長さと希望によって、夜行列車の寝台では1等クラスか2等クラス、または堅い座席かソフトな座席かを選ぶことができます。チケットクラスの選択肢はルートと旅行の長さによります。基本的に、列車には1等クラスの寝台がありますが、2時間ほどの短時間の移動の場合、それらを予約することはできません。一般的に、2等クラスは長距離旅行に最適で、移動時間が4～5時間以内の場合、ソフトな座席を選択するとよいでしょう。

列車旅行のメリット
- 列車移動の最大のポイントは渋滞がないことです。ラッシュアワーや大型連休やピークシーズンでも渋滞はありません。
- 簡単なオンライン予約システムによって、少し前までは駅に行ってチケットを購入するのが必須でしたが、今はその必要はありません！
- 列車のチケットは飛行機と比べると入手しやすいですが、特定の目的地や旅行先では移動の合計時間が同じです。
- 列車の移動はフライトよりも断然遅くなりますが、列車の駅は市街地の中心にあることが多いので、市街地から遠くに位置する空港に比べて、アクセスに費やす時間が節約できます。
- 快適に寝ることができない夜行バスとは反対に、夜間の列車移動はホテル代を節約するうえ快眠できます。

列車旅行のデメリット
- 長距離の移動では、空の旅よりも列車の旅は大幅に時間がかかります。
- 列車は時間通りに運行しますが、スケジュールの乱れや遅延も発生します。フライトの乗り継ぎを予定している場合、列車の到着時間を確認してよく考えてから予約しましょう。
- 2等クラスと3等クラスのチケットでは、トイレを含めた清潔さが問題になるときもあります。
- 停車駅がたくさんある場合、停車ごとに必ずアナウンスがあるわけではなく、画面に例外が表示されることもあるので、降車のタイミングが分かりにくいこともあります。

Communication with 12go was horrible - we received ticket confirmation less than 2 hours before departure, which is awful.
We barely received any responses from 12Go, and when we did, it was a robotic response. at one stage, we were told we had no tickets left, and then 20 minutes later we received an automated confirmation with tickets. How bizarre!
Furthermore, it needs to be clearer that the booking confirmation takes 2 days to process, it's not acceptable to make that clear once someone has handed over their hard earned money.

Nothing wrong with 12go service obviously you pay for this but well worth it. The negative is with the train company you are not allowed to take any toiletries over 100ml or any alcohol and they take things off you as they please, things disappeared under desks instead of going in the bins.

The travel was incredible! Fast train and the online ticket works well. Sadly I paid more then double via 12go then if I have bought at the train agency. But thats ok. Worth it

Bought a train ticket from Vientiane to Luang Prabang a day before the trip and less than 20 mins later I had the confirmation with QR code in my (e)mailbox. Smooth and fast!

I had to get my transportation to the railway station, which is 30m away from Luang Prabang. I'm not sure if you need to email 12go.asia in advance with pick up information. Well, the place where I was staying had a shuttle to the railway station, for cheap price, so I took it.
Besides that detail, everything worked good, you get the e-ticket with QR code that you will need on the beginning of your trip and end of it, the train is new and it's on time and goes fast and stable.

Tickets from the station are $7. 12go charge $17. I'd recommend going yourself to save the difference.

Very comfy and the train has AC. Security at the station is strict, they don’t allow you to bring aerosols or alcohol - I had two snake whiskeys (for souvenirs) taken off me unfortunately.

No fue del todo satisfactoria; yo había reservado un tren en Noviembre 2023 con salida desde LP a Vientiane el 18;de Marzo. Recibí los billetes electrónicos pero con salida a las 19:10 hrs; ese tren no me dejaría coger el vuelo en Vientiane a las 23:20 hrs con destino Shanghái. La agencia 12gi.Asia no me avisó con antelación de ese cambio. Perdí esos billetes: Lao Railway decía que no se podían cancelar ni cambiar por otro tren en horas anteriores. Tuve que comprar por mi cuenta dos billetes con salida a las 14:00 hrs. Terminé bien el viaje: llegué a Shanghái a la hora prevista y tomé horas más tarde un vuelo Shanghái - Madrid, los dos reservados en Noviembre 2023.
