Kanchanaburi Express

Easy to book reservations online👍 Staff at Bangkok Southern Busstation , (go to desk nbr 1) helpful in finding bus. In Kanchanaburi, it would be helpful if there’s a sign “ Kanachanaburi Express” as there are so many mini vans waiting. But just ask, they are happy to find your bus. Upon arrival back, the mini bus stopped across the Southern Bus Terminal,there are taxis waiting but not every driver wants to take you downtown. You can ask them to go to Bang Wa station, from there you get on the BTS rail to Silom Station for example.

Everywhere we want to go we can find on 12Go. No strikes like uk. Sometimes a few stops but really doesn’t matter. Best app we have used and travelled through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Wish uk was so efficient. Thank you

Just got off the express train from Don Muang to Chang Mai ,great experience. Very well organised at the station and very helpful staff who make sure you board the train at the right carriage . Once on board food orders are taken and delivered to your seat . Air con is cool but the blankets provided are warm enough .Beds are made up at around 8.30 pm and most people were settled for 10...breakfast and coffees served from 6am. Great experience will use again .

De buschauffeur reed zeer onveilig. En sprak bijna geen Engels. De bus stopt meermaals wat maakte dat je niet goed wist wanneer je eraf moest doordat de chauffeur geen Engels sprak vermoeilijkte dit het proces

pretty good ride, said 2h 50m but i would’ve said it took more like 2hr 20m ish , other reviews have said the driver is unsafe, i’d disagree, traffic in thailand is just crazy. overall good trip and easiest way to get from central bangkok to kanchanaburi

Bus trip and driver were great! Driver was very helpful and kind. The lady behind the counter in Bangkok however, was the rudest person we have met. She was screaming at us and other people in the check in line and she was honestly quite scary. Made for a very bad start of the trip.

Departure on time but arrival with a delay of 40min, not really important but maybe due to a driver not stressed (on his phone and papers whole travel) and several stops (one at 11am, initial arrival time, for restroom, 40min before arrival...). Maybe duration of travel is underestimated on website...

Left 40 minutes earlier, took only 2 hours, nothing to complain.

Bus booked for 10am but I'm arrived in advance around 8:40am so the office ticket girl put me on the bus for 9am (understood when she gaves me the ticket) and just time to take a coffee, when I went at gate, all people were already in bus so we left around 8:50am so good. All was ok and on time.

There was not enough storage for our luggage which made the trip uncomfortable

The terminal was hard to find, even people there at the old bus terminal did not know. We started earlier which was OK, because the bus was full. The luggage had to be stuck in the aisle which wasn't comfortable.

Arrived for a 1200 departure at 1045 and we were asked if we would like the 1100 departure. Accepted happily.

Was not an express bus, driver hold in almost every city and delivered also something at a gas station. Therefore we took much more time then it was described for the overall ride.

Very smooth ride, on time. We booked an extra seat for luggage which was the right decision.

I arrived at the station at 7.15 so that I could get my ticket and grab some breakfast afterwards to be shure that I would have found it, since some of the reviews noted it was not easy to find. I had no difficulties finding the counter, but when I showed her my online ticket she printed me one and said, the schedule changed the bus leaves at 7.20! There went my breakfast... I had no idea what would have happend if I arrived later, so be very careful with these bookings and go well in time just to be shure!

Van was comfortable enough with space to put our backpacks. Arrived at new van station early which was great!

A lot of leg space, AC working fine and food/drinks served on the bus. I highly recommend it

If you get out at mochit bus terminal you are on the wrong side. You have to cross the walking bridge and then you get at the new van parking. It's full of minibussus. Also you have to go with e-ticket to ticket station so you get paper ticket. For some reason everybody shouts at you (very funny and confusing)f you have a backpack, book another seat for it since it usually is fully booked (also pre select seats). Front is roomier for tall people like me. Ride was fast, comfort was alright and you can charge up phone with USB. Fellow travelers were very friendly.

We wanted to get to Mochit Van Terminal and the driver wanted us to leave somewhere in Bangkok We had to pay 100 Baht per person to get to Mochit Terminal and the bus was late and took 3 hours

It was great that they allowed to change the timing but the minibus was more uncomfortable as the seats could not be lowered.

The van terminal was easy to find, we got dropped off by a grab taxi straight outside & immediately went into the information building. The two people behind the desk directed us to section D where we spoke to a lady behind the desk, showed the PDF & she gave us a ticket. We were supposed to be on the 10am bus but as we were there early she asked if we wanted to get the 9am bus instead which suited us! We both had large rucksacks which the bus driver kindly put where he could on the bus, but honestly I think if we were to take this bus again I would likely book an additional seat as he was struggling for space. The bus left on time & arrived on time, would book again thanks 😊

Bus was 20 minutes late. For the rest, standard Asia travels :)

The trip itself was as to be expected, some hours in a van is not the favourite thing to do 😉. The driver was nice and dropped us of where we wanted but as guard for our safety he was doing eh..... not a great job. Looking at his phone, (even) texting and calling every let say ten minutes. We were of course happy to be at our destination but asked for our opinion I would say there's room for improvement

Good transportation at very cheap fare. We arrived at the station earlier than expected and staff let us take the leaving bus. Minibus older than the previous from Bkk (other company) anyway similar little space between seats for a tall person but okay. Mochit station better than Southern station for central Bkk.

Good transportation with cheap fare. If you follow the information to reach terminal and counter you don't make mistakes. Respected timing. Minibus could be more confortable but ok. Expect high AC, little space between seats and difficulty to rest cause many stops along the way.

AC was on the whole 3 hours and got so cold! Generally comfortable though. Booked the express to Bangkok southern terminal which was supposed to take 1h 50 min and ended up lasting an hour extra :(

We booked via 12Go. Safe and secure booking and payment (creditcard). Instant confirmation via email. In confirmation email a short description of where tot go at the Southern bus terminal. Press google maps link and together with picture of ticket booth you’ll find it easily. We travelled on a Sunday so only 20 minutes by cab were required to go from HolidayInn Silom Road to the Southern bus station (taxi costs by meter: 150 B). Think about traffic on rest of weekdays! We arrived at check in booth at 09:20 am(booked bus 10:00 am). We were directly put onto the 09:40 bus. Convenient but our reserved seats were not available on this bus. But we managed. We booked an extra seat (5 together with family of 4). Since I’m 1m90cm this was a wise decision. I used the 2 seats together with our small bags on my own. That was okay regarding leg space. If you have bigger bags I would recommend a pre-booked local cab. I found some websites that offer Bangkok-Kanchanaburi/river kwai bridge for approximately 2700-3000B. With the extra seat we payed around 1300B but still required a cab from our hotel to bus terminal (150-200B) and another one in Kanchanaburi (100B) to get to the bridge. Extra tip: seat number 6 (with this company) is at the door (no seat in front) so you have free extra legroom (check you bus company!). Seat #1 is also good. Front row, next to driver but separate seat and enough space. So if you’re with 4 persons I would book seats 1, 2, 3 (if your kids aren’t to big and 6 (only based on legroom/comfort). Toilets at the Southern bus station are a bit dirty but still costs 5B. Soap provided. Coins required. Small blue changing machines available (able to change 10B coin or 20B coupon) just outside. Rest of terminal is oké. Today it was not very busy and a few western style eateries available. Including 7-eleven and ATMs. Driver was good/friendly. Several intermediate stops are made to (dis-)embark other passengers. Also stop possible (if requested) for short(!) sanitary break. Stop was at filling station. Also dirty ;-) At Kanchanaburi taxidrivers directly offer service to the bridge (100B). At the bridge eat at Keeree Tara. Best restaurant at the river (with clean airconditioned toilets). All seats have USB-outlet! Have a safe journey. Rudi.

C'est la 2ème fois que j'utilise leur service. Impeccable pour cette 2ème fois. Pour la 13 réservation (train), j'ai le voucher, maisle voyage n'a pas encore eu lieu. Je ne suis pas inquiet.

We booked the 6am trip but arrived a bit early around 5.15 so we were able to change it to the 5am one taking us to kanchanaburi as it was about to leave. The trip went quite fast as we arrived around 7am. Has Aircon was a little cold so bringing some long sleeves is recommended!

Very on point (although they say the departure time can be delayed) and very fast.

A very uncomfortable journey, we started at 545 and were given a bean sandwich with 2 drinks (happy with that) there seemed to be constant stops on the right side of the highway (which I believe is the fast lane) cars constantly beeping us, very hard breaking and seats generally quite uncomfortable. Lights on the bus were turned off at 7pm leaving no light to be able to read then turned on at 11pm when we stopped for a break which I presumed was for a toilet break as the driving assistant spoke in Thai to the whole bus. It wasn’t until we had been sat on the bus 15 mins and one of the locals returned to the bus to say we could get a free meal with our bus ticket (by this point we didn’t have enough time to get food). Unfortunately my worst sleeper bus experience to date!

Easy to find the bus at the terminal by following the photo emailed to us. Bus terminal has refreshment stalls and toilets. Bus left on time. Air conditioned. We paid for 2 extra seats for large bags for family of 4. Few stops on the way to pick people Up but very quick and efficient.

Left right on time and was half an hour to early at drop off point.

It should be an express van but it took 3 hours instead of 2. Also a lot of stops and the driver was not driving really save. I was feeling sick in the bus because of his driving skills. We were dropped next to the highway, no station only taxis.

Staff at the departure terminal were really helpful. The bus departed on time and arrived a little early. Booking online was simple too.

This was my first bus ride in Thailand therefore I didn’t really know how it worked. At the check-in counter the staff kept shouting in Thai and when I approached one desk to show my ticket they couldn’t speak English and couldn’t inform me about the procedure. They only shouted “E”, “E”, and only after I understand they meant “eight”, that is I should go to ticket counter 8. At this point I show my online ticket and the girl seems annoyed to do her job of printing out the physical copy. Overall rude personnel and not customer-friendly. The bus ride is not great either. The bus driver stops several times just to take a break or get changed, and we arrive more than 2 hours late (on a 2.5h journey!!!). AC worked well, we left on time and the price is convenient. But the experience wasn’t great.

all good, I went to the terminal one hour before my trip and they let me board a minibus leaving for Bangkok earlier. it was more comfortable than the van I came with. the driver drops you off at the bts mo chit train station, which is really convenient!

Bus left and arrived on time, both ways from and to Bangkok. Had USB charging ports too. No restroom breaks though, so plan your water intake accordingly. The driver may ask for your destination a few minutes after leaving the station, so just tell them and keep the ticket. Did this DIY TRIP going to ElephantsWorld in Kanchanaburi, and was picked up directly from Kanchanaburi bus station. Going back to Bangkok, you can alight at BTS Mo Chit station, as the minibus station is a little far off from the trains, especially if you have luggage.
