We took the VIP bus from Sukhothai to Bangkok and had a great experience. Everything was clean and comfortable. However, I would suggest adding more departure options. The only overnight bus available left at 9:00 PM and arrived at 3:00 AM. We would have preferred a later departure—around 11:00 PM—so we could arrive in Bangkok at a better time (like 6:00 or 7:00 AM). Because we arrived so early, we had to pay an extra fee at our hotel just to check in early and get some sleep instead of wandering the city at 4:00 AM.

The bus was in bad condition and, when the first intermediate stop happen, the driver told us that we has 30 minutes. After 15 he told us to jump in the bus and he was very insistent and I was not able to finish my meal (paid with my money)

The bus was really a VIP specially made vechicle. It had only seven rows of comfortable first-class airplane-type of seats (three per raw). The seats could be reclined so as you can sleap, if you so wished. There was a relatively large personal tablet-size screen for each seat, which you could connect to Netflix and YouTube!
Our journey was an excellent experience and we did not feel tired from our eight hours journey.

It was just a normal bus. I booked in 12go but after I knew that you can buy directly with the company in Sukhotay cheaper.

Took the bus from Sukhothai to Chiangmai. Time is an estimation since this was a stop and not the start of the line. 50 min delay and from what I gathered there, delays of up to 2h are usual. Besides that, everyone was polite and kind, bus was pretty ok and they even gave me a complimentary wáter bottle and a small snack. True local experience.

The trip was great in every way and they really got me out of a pickle. I left my phone behind at Sukhothai and they were so helpful in arranging for it to go a bus the next day and this put my mind at rest.

The tuktuk from hotel to busstation was rather late. We were there just 20 seconds before arrival of the bus that was luckily delayed.

Bus was very late coming in, but took much less time than expected to arrive at destination. The biggest issue was collecting tickets. There are a lot fewer people who speak English in this area and the booking confirmation was only in English rather than also in Thai. They seemed to assume that all westerners want to go to Chiang Mai and kept sending me to the wrong collection office despite me trying to tell them we were going to Phitsanulok. Eventually someone with a little more English was able to help. I can't blame them for not speaking English, but it would have helped if the booking confirmation had also been in Thai.

Bus wasn't very comfortable for such a long journey. One of the seat belts was broken, but nothing the driver could do to fix it. Aircon was barely working.
It stopped once for a lunch break after about 2.5 hours, but then didn't stop again for the rest of the journey.

Very well organized, they picked me up in a Tuc-Tuc at my hotel, took me to the bus station in Ayutthaya and on arrival to Sukhothai there was another transport to take me to my hotel there

Paid extra for the "VIP" bus. Yes the seats did recline a lot but maybe too much - the seat infront of you will be touching your legs (even if you are not tall)
Like many other people have said, the bus was absolutely freezing.
The driver stopped for constant cigarette breaks but refused to let passengers have even one break in over 10 hours. I asked a couple of times could I get off for 2 minutes as I was too cold on the bus but the driver was very rude and just kept shouting no and waving in my face.
We arrived just about on time but could have arrived earlier if the driver hadn't stopped so often for his own personal breaks, or he could have let the passengers off for 10 minutes at some point to break up that cold and uncomfortable journey.
There was a "meal" provided but it was a lucky dip microwave meal from 7eleven, no vegetarian option.
None of the staff could speak English at all so trying to get any help was very difficult.
I tried to contact 12go for support but that was also a huge waste of my time.
Honestly i would save your money and go for one of the cheaper buses - this was definitely not a "VIP" experience.

Very spacious and food (Dinner and Snacks) are provided. We reached couple of hours before the expected arrival.

The bus ride was pleasant heading through the countryside and beautiful landscapes of Thailand. Our driver drove safely and the ‘copilot’ was patient and helpful. Water was given to everyone with a snack. We arrived safely, on time, and the bus had excellent air conditioning. What more could you ask for?!
