Not the best company to travel with. By comparison, we already used others companies that offer better service. During this trip no information from the bus-guide regarding the journey, no mid stop, vigorous driving, no water distribution even though they had and the driver rushed us to leave the bus when we arrived at 3 am. Company is okay for small trip but if you can find another one we recommend.

Worst experience ever, took so much time to get the confirmation and then the address you provided to get the tickets was wrong. The one on Google maps too. Had to go to another company place to get a third wrong address to finally find the real place next to it. They don't have bus just reseller so we had to take a motorbike under the rain to get another place that the guy couldn't find... The schedule was also wrong but it became a good news in my case.
12Go réponse:

When you book a ticket for a local bus company at 10 pm, don't expect it to get confirmed until their office opens in the morning.

Thank you for reporting the issue with the map, it will be investigated.

HORRIBLE! Driver was over an hour late to pick up and didn't apologize or even say hello for that matter. Then We were forced to sit in the front seat when there were 2 seats open in the back. We were simply told "no" when we asked if we could sit there (and that was the only word the driver spoke the entire ride). So we sat crammed in the front with our knees against the dashboard in seats that don't recline. At the end of the trip he dropped off everyone at their hotel except us! We were dropped off at their office and had to walk 5 blocks with our luggage. We paid for and expected a nice, comfortable and convenient ride but it was the complete opposite.

I always forget that the private booked VIP buses do not run on as tight a schedule as trains, we were the first pickup for the van and he was 15 minutes late, after all pickups we ddin't leave Sapa until an hour after we should have. The ride is great for the first half, sit on the passenger side for the best views as you wind down out of the mountains. The second half of the trip on the highway is less exciting, and somewhat bumpy as the road is not smooth at the transitions onto / off of bridges.

We arrived more than one hour late in Hanoi. Driver did not speak any English at all, couldn’t even tell us for how long we paused at the rest stop. It also seemed that the driver picked up some friends to drop them off in another town which costed quite a lot of extra time when we were already late. They also refused to drop us off at our hotel because it wasn’t in the old quarter. A bit stupid since it was JUST outside the old quarter. Only positive thing we can dat is that the van is comfortable.

We were made to seat at the front seat of 2 person as the vehicle is full and we were the last to be picked up. i don't think it is fair to let us seat uncomfortably at front when we paid the same price as others. As we refuse to board, we agreed to take a cheaper option of sleeper bus. It was not as comfy and the driver speaks no english. The agent did not inform the driver that we are going to the old town hanoi, and when we told the driver, it was already almost outside of the city. The bus dropped us in middle of nowhere and we had to use and pay for taxi to our hotel. I think the front seat should not be sold or at least at cheaper price.

Woken up by the conductor hitting my arm (hard!), then getting dumped out onto the streets of Hanoi at 2am. We were supposed to get in at 4:30am, and transfer buses at 7am, but we were left with nobody to help us, without even a bus station for shelter. Spent the night after taking an extremely expensive taxi to another bus station for our transfer waiting outside the locked gates for 4 hours. We were the definition of targets and we're lucky it didn't turn out worse. If a bus is going to get in 2.5 hours ahead of schedule, they should provide some warning, give some information on where to go, or provide a sheltered bus station!

Great bus, wide seats with lots of leg room. Very comfy! Free bottle water. Left on time. English speakers in office and English speaking guide on board the bus to explain when we were stopping and for how long. Great journey!

Pretty good train, it would be nice if it left later so it arrived later than 4:30 am. The cabins are tiny but the beds aren’t bad. It’s a fun experience and you get to save money on a hotel for the night!

So far only had 2 journeys on the night train. First was 4 berth sleeper with sapaly express and this one was VIP king express. We arrived at Loa Cai and followed the instructions on where to collect tickets which was at a named hotel. The hotel had no idea what we were talking about. They made various phone calls to no luck. Time was running out and train departure was close. He then runs out with us on to the main road asking who had the tickets to which eventually a lady walking towards the train had ours. The cabin it self was awful. Dirty and staff were very very rude. The whole trip was just unpleasant. Waste of money.

Very comfortable bus journey - seats were incredibly spacious and and comfy and as there's also a gap between all the individual seats there's no worry of another passenger sitting half on your seat too! Had charging ports, air con, free bottle of water and a tv screen. Only down side is that this is a fairly short bus ride and we stopped off quite a lot making the journey longer than it needed to be. A suggestion would be putting a tv programme or film on the tv screen instead of just a lady singing and then keeping this on for the duration of the journey. But all in all one of the best bus journeys we've had in Asia.

The day before departure the girl from the hotel did send a message Where we needed the pick up service. It was right across the pick up point. At 8:15 we still didn't see a bus and called. They are on the way was told. At 8:30 still no bus. We called again. They are coming was told. One moment they said. At 8:45 still no bus. Called again. Then they told us that the wrong people where at our place. And that the bus was already on it's way to Hanoi. Then we received a taxi at 9o'clock to the bus that did stop for us. On the bus i had to sit next to the driver because it was full. There was no leg room at all and this is not where i paid for. The only good thing was the driver that is why i rated it 2 stars. Otherwise it was -5. The driver did his very best for us to catch the next bus due we where delayed for 1h. And he made we could catch the next bus.

very satisfied. the bus was clean as everyone had to take shoes off. the sleepers were nice, comfortable enough for me at 180 cm although the smaller you are the better as you can then stretch your legs out properly. we stopped twice with enough time to have food a stretch our legs a little. we were happy and would use them again.

Everything was good until we arrived in Hanoi at 2am (2 and a half hours early) and got shouted at that we all had to get off the bus. We had to literally sleep on the street with our bags until things started to open at 6am. DO NOT BOOK unless you have somewhere to stay when you arrive in Hanoi!!!! (Which I think defies the whole object of getting the sleeper bus). Such a shame because the actual bus itself was great and really comfy they just need to be a lot more honest about arrival time as I’ve seen other reviews that set they arrived at 2am too.

We originally booked for Sapaly Express but were transferred to "Oriental Express". The agent said they were on similar on all levels. She was so Far From Wrong. We just did the Hanoi to Sapa sleeper train on ET-Pumpkin and they were great. Bunks folded up for our private room for 2 and had electrical outlets. Oriental Express was clean. Mattresses just a uncomfortable firm but we asked for a private room for 2. We got private quarters but there was NO functioning electrical outlets and the top beds were bolted down giving a very Claustrophobic sleeping situation. We got a private room for 2 to avoid that but the extra we paid for was a waste. This company is not good for a private room. I would go with Sapaly or Pumpkin only in the future.

The bus office address in Sapa "No. 9 Pham Kim Dong Street, Sapa" is WRONG !!! I had a hard time running around looking for the office & bus, even took a taxi and went to different bus companies. I almost missed the bus from Sapa back to Hanoi. Such a disappointment and anxiety caused to a solo old female traveller! I highly recommend the GREEN BUS which is located a few doors from No. 9 Pham Kim Dong Street.

We did not get the services we paid for !!! We had ordered and paid a VIP coupe for 4 people with Oriental Express. Upon arrival at the Peters Chef restaurant, we passed a voucher and were issued with tickets to another car and another class. We went all the way back to the restaurant, where all of us stopped talking English, no one ever wanted to talk to us, and just used our time when they knew we needed to leave the train. The guides number 10, which belonged to the company, told us that we have a voucher in her car and that we have lower class and less service cars than we paid. A typical example of giving cheaper tickets to us, the original ones were canceled and sold quickly to other passengers when the difference went into their pockets. That's why Peters Chef restaurant - cheaters ....

We are very sorry to hear this and will be in touch with the operator to figure out what went wrong here and ask about a refund. This is not an issue that we have encountered on this route before and it is likely an instance of the operator not keeping proper records and overbooking rather than anything malicious.

Can you please send us a photo of the tickets that you were issued? This will help us to expedite the process.

Prima reis.

We got the 9 seater VIP van for our trip from Sapa to Hanoi. The whole ride was pleasant. There wasn't any beeping sound as well. It only beep if the driver was speeding. Driver was friendly as well. We had 1 stop for toilet break. The only problem we had was that the whole van was full, and we were a party of 4 and the last one to board the van. 7 seats were good and spacious, the remaining 2 was the front seat beside the driver. I don't think they should have assigned the front 2 seat for paying customers, as it was really lacking as compared to the spacious and comfortable seats at the back. The passengers seats felt like a VIP ride but not the front 2. For my party of 4, 2 of us had to sit at the front and that wasn't comparable to the amount we paid. Apart from that the ride was good. The seats at the back comes with USB charger as well.

Driver was 45 minutes late and only spoke vietnamees. He stopped 3 times for his own grocerie (buying plants) and put our bags with us so he could lay his groceries in de back of the car. He stopped one time to smoke (I think a waterpipe) and it was very cold in the car. He drove insane and wanted us to get out of the car at some other place instead of Hanoi SSB (long bien busstation). We had to get angry at him so he would bring us to the station. Despite the fact that 1 star is not deserved, I have selected it as there are no lesser options for the following reasons: 1. Driving was reckless and dangerous not allowing for sleep, 2. The driver and his companion were speaking Vietnamese very loudly throughout the trip, again not allowing the passengers to sleep on a "sleeper Bus" , 3. The bus stopped frequently to pick up and drop off individuals while turning on the lights and shouting like as if they were from the mental institution, again not allowing the passengers to sleep on a sleeper Bus, 4. As a result of reckless, fast and inconsiderate driving the bus reached Hanoi 2 hours earlier necessitating the passengers to wait in the middle of the cold night for the connecting transport severely inconveniencing everybody. Overall, the trip was disappointing at the very least.

Trip was quick and uneventful. No 'beeping' sound as reported in other reviews. Single stop for food/bathroom, which everyone appreciated. Back row may be restricted from fully reclining due to bags but we rearranged the bags from the backseat and were ok to recline our seats. As mentioned in other posts, the air con is on but its not unbearable, just pull out the jumper/jacket you had for the existing (cold) weather in SaPa. After walking by the 'office' the day prior, we realised the address for SAPA Grouptour's SaPa office had changed, we contacted 12GO and the address on our tickets was updated. While we were told they would've walked around to collect us, I'm not keen on unnecessarily dragging my bags through several blocks of mud in the pouring rain and so it was just as well we checked and contacted 12GO so they could provide accurate details for our taxi. Given previous reviews, the change appears to have happened awhile ago but the details on the vouchers weren't updated (the new(er) vouchers from 12GO appear to now be correct). Driver dropped us off two blocks from our hotel but suspect this was due to miscommunication by the team at the SaPa office vs a mistake by the fairly on the ball driver. All in all, a pleasant and quick journey but doing our homework meant less stress on the actual day.
