- Le processus de réservation en ligne est simple. Vous n'avez pas besoin de vous rendre à la gare, alors que c’était encore le cas pour de nombreuses destinations il n'y a pas si longtemps !
- Les prix des billets de train sont généralement plus abordables que ceux des billets d'avion, alors que pour certaines destinations, la durée totale du trajet peut être presque la même.
- Si le voyage en train est évidemment plus lent que le voyage en avion, les gares sont souvent situées au cœur de la ville, ce qui vous fait gagner beaucoup de temps pour vous y rendre et en revenir, alors que les aéroports sont presque toujours très éloignés de la ville.
- Voyager de nuit vous permet d'économiser une nuit d'hôtel mais aussi de bien dormir - contrairement à un bus de nuit où même la classe couchette reste un compromis.

Inconvénients du Voyage en Train
- Pour les voyages les plus longs, le train prend assurément plus de temps que l’avion.
- Les trains suivent des horaires fixes, mais des retards sont possibles, et ces retards peuvent être énormes, donc si vous prévoyez une correspondance avec un vol, vérifiez soigneusement l'heure d'arrivée de votre train à la gare et demandez-vous si cela sera suffisant.
- La propreté laisse parfois à désirer en deuxième et troisième classe, notamment dans les toilettes.
- Si votre train fait beaucoup d'arrêts, il est parfois difficile de savoir quand descendre car les arrêts ne sont pas toujours clairement annoncés ou signalés, sauf si vous pouvez vérifier sur un écran électronique.

I'm foreigner in Taiwan, so my tickets were valid. My gf is Taiwanese, her tickets were not valid. We lost $100.. You should communicate it more clear on top that this page is only for travellers and not for local people. I've overlooked it. Maybe mark it red for better visibility

Everything went smooth. We exchanged the voucher the day before travel & only waited minutes in the line up to do this. I checked the price directly with the HSR & it was the same as that offered by 12go.asia. The online booking process was quick & easy & we had reserved seats. I’ll use 12go.asia again!

Very easy to exchange the voucher into the ticket - no lines in the middle of a work day and I went the day before I wanted to travel. When exchanging I could still pick a new time and date, and they asked if I wanted to reserve a seat, which I did. Train journey was great and all signs in English, so you don’t have to worry about not understanding.
It seems though that by booking through 12go Asia I did not book a specific ticket to go on this specific train, as at the ticket counter I could still change the date and the time. This was not clear from the 12go Asia site - they make it appear as if you book a specific train (like when you book a train in Europe). The only thing you basically do is get a voucher to get a train ticket. I’m not sure what the added value is of 12go Asia here if they don’t reserve anything for you. Next time I will probably just buy at the ticket counter at the Taipei Station.

Trıp was good. Personnel was helpful. One comment: It takes long time to wait in ticketing lines to exchange the voucher for a ticket. Also, the personnel cannot easily locate the reservation number on the voucher : If you cannot come up with a common format so that the MSRT personal will be instantly familiar, at least you can have the code printed in big size at the top of the voucher to attract the attention. Thanks.

Make sure to read the instructions carefully because the voucher you get is NOT a ticket, you still have to convert it online (on the official train website) to get a ticket.
