Dear Railways Passenger!
We are not (yet) an online system for Thai Railways. We are manually buying tickets for you at the station. Trains in Thailand are usually sold out (especially VIP class compartments). It may happen that your preferred berth (upper or lower) is not available. In this case we can try to get a different berth for you. You may select your flexibility level below.

You can not travel with the voucher you got from us. You need to come and check in to collect your boarding passes. The process is very similar to the one you know from the airport. You can not board the train without a special boarding pass.

Why book with us?

  • Simple and seamless booking process.
  • Usually we confirm your tickets within 24h.
  • Ticket pickup at/near the departure station in Bangkok with an alternative shipping option to the parcel room at your departure station or by EMS to your home/hotel address.
  • It is possible to change the passport details after making the purchase.
  • Multiple refund/change/shipping options nobody else can provide for you. Changing a boarding pass costs 160 Baht extra (fee per person).

Our booking fee is there to cover costs for providing tickets to our customers. This involves our staff going to the railways counter, wait in the queue and arrange the best tickets for you, depending on availability and according to your requirements and much much more. The purchasing process of train tickets is different to our bus tickets, which are instantly confirmed - bus operator systems are connected in real-time. Trains are not like that. In case we have charged a higher price at the moment of booking (for child fares, changing VIP to 2nd Class, upper/lower, etc.) we refund in cash when you pick up tickets.

Please note: Thai railways release seats to the public 90 days before the departure for long-hauls and 30 days for short routes (e.g. Bangkok <-> Chumphon). If your departure is in more than 90 (30) days your payment and request will be held in the system and we issue tickets at first possibility ensuring you get the seats you want.

Attention: Please enter your real gender when booking. If you have mentioned you are female and book 1st Class/VIP, we'll put you with another female passenger. If in reality you are not exactly female - you may face well expected difficulties when boarding...

Travel with children: Please note that the policy of Thai Railways permits children less than 12 years old or of height under 150cm to travel on LOWER BERTHS ONLY.

Tickets Bangkok - Chumphon are released 30 days in advance. It may happen that all tickets are sold because people booked long-distance trips (Bangkok - Lang Suan and further) which are released 60 days in advance.
You can purchase tickets Bangkok - Long Suan instead of Bangkok - Chumphon, so we will be able to buy them 60 days in advance and you will leave train in Chumphon.

Just fly and save yourself the hassle. 2nd class sleeper train (which is their first class on this service) Was very grubby and old. I would avoid using the grubby basin or putting anything on the grubby floor. Aircon broken and very cold in the night. I had to sleep with trousers, a jumper And a jacket. I wished I had a wooly hat. Toilets are squat toilets, and shared by both men and woman. We Were sold drinks at extortionary prices by a smiling man who pretty much pushed his way into our sleeper car. There are no noise barriers to the neighbouring rooms so if they are noisy (as most Thai conversations are) you will need airplugs. Again, just save yourself a hassle and fly.

The crew was very good and helpful. 1st class sleeper cabins are private, but old and not well maintained and the shared bathroom was not maintained at all - a single dirty standing toilet with no toilet paper or soap provided. An ok way to travel on a budget but would be nice if they invested a little bit more as it could be a great experience.

The staff and operators were absolutely lovely. They made our beds at 8pm and woke us up in time to get off at our stop.

The train was old, the bathroom smelly, having vendors walking up and down shouting the whole time until late was a bit disturbing. Train was one hour late.

We had an old train this time, And not really clean, we even had two cockroaches in our cabin. It was also very noisy, from the train an from our neighbors. Disappointed in this ride, our other ride was much better.

First class in Thailand is not the same as first class in England. We got exactly what we expected and were happy with it. The staff were good, the cabin was old but clean, and our sink leaked like one of the other reviews but they came and cleaned it when we showed them. One point to note - do not expect to have a nice shower: there is a small shower room but it is a toilet as well and very smelly. Also there is a 1st class lounge by platform 6, I think, although it is just an air-conditioned room but nicer than the other seating areas.
