Surat Thani Town to Bangkok Destination Reviews

The bus was supposed to be VIP and comfortable. It wasn’t and it wasn’t enough for the person next to me who was TALL. He couldn’t find a comfortable position all night and kept waking me up. I couldn’t also, the chairs aren’t good. Around midnight you stop so we can eat (this is quite late, but is ok) to find out they have nothing without chiken or pork. You need to understand we are in 2023 and many people don’t abuse or eat animals anymore. If you can’t offer a bit of tofu, then you leave people with nothing to choose. Tofu is cheap and easy to cook, many thai restaurants offer it. The bus also arrived 4:30 am when it was scheduled to arrive 6:00. This could be great, but if you think about it, to arrive in kaosan at 4:30 isn’t great, what do you do with 1:30 there? It’s dangerous, dirty and puts you in an uncomfortable position. The rest was ok, I put a 2 star for you to read this and see if you can improve something.

The bus didn't take us to the foreseen final destination, close to Khaosan; in the middle of the night, we were left at the southern terminal. It wasn't only us but also other travellers who were confused and sure that they had booked a ticket to Khaosan road. Our tickets got checked several times before departure. The bus driver was apparently told to drop us off there; it's not his fault. I went to the agency's office the next day, but didn't receive much empathy; they simply didn't seem to care. The manager of the lady in the office never call me back. The bus is also much more packed than other agency's buses, with less space between the seats.

The bus was supposed to arrive at the Khao san street, but it didn't. It stopped at the bus station 20 mintues away from khao san. We had to change the local bus.

It was very disorganized and no one would tell you what was happening. Also a lady told me it was 250 baht to get onto the bus which would take me to Surat Thani town, but it was actually free. We just road half way to the town and turned back and they made some of us get off and get onto different vans. Then they wouldn’t give me my money back for that even though no one else had to pay. Then they dropped us at a random place and the buses picked us up there, all the while no one knew what was happening. And we were an hour behind schedule, which would have been fine if I knew what was going on and didn’t think I missed the bus I was supposed to be on.
