Bus Express Seater 41, Virak Buntham Express, Nov 22, 2019
This is a VERY HORRIBLE experience. In my ticket, the boarding point clearly says Siem Reap Bus Station. From my hostel, I arrived at the boarding point at 8am, only to be told that the bus is in their ticketing office near where almost all the hostels are. Note that the bus station is quite far and it costs around 3USD. Of course, I had to pay twice to catch the bus back. They guy in the bus station called the bus to wait for me and another guy-- BUT THEY DID NOT WAIT. Upon arrival at the Virak Buntham office we were told that we just have to ride a taxi to the border for 25USD and MAYBE the bus would be there. Seems really scary as the Poipet border is known for scams. The other guy and I did it anyway out of desperation. I am from Southeast Asia and was asked me to pay 3USD when it was supposed to be free. (This part is not the busline's fault but it was really a stressful experience and I just had to get through the border faster as the bus is "waiting" and so I did pay 3USD.) Upon arrival at the Thai border, I contacted 12go to help but there was nothing at all. The eMail they sent states that they respond in 24 hours but I seemed to be ignored. Still not a response. In the end, there was this busline called TravelMart who let us in for a free ride to Bangkok. Not at all a Virak Buntham bus and I'm not so sure if this is the bus waiting for us. TLDR: Take Giant Ibis instead. If already booked, make sure to be in their main office just near Pubstreet.

Excellent service from purchasing tickets, queries dealt with efficiently, smooth check in, great team on board who were friendly, helpful and good at their jobs, comfortable bus, free breakfast, lunch and drinks too. The only downside which prevents us from giving 5 stars is the company could mend some seat belts that don't work. One other thing that the company cannot do anything about is the immigration process where the guide cannot pass through with passengers and therefore cannot help if there are any unforseen problems which there were for some people on our trip.

Nice , clean and very comfortable bus( with wifi ). Conductor speaks decent English which helps a lot, especially , as one needs clear instruction when doing cross border immigration process.

Bus Express Seater 41, Virak Buntham Express, Nov 17, 2019
The bus did reach Bangkok on time. The journey was good and the seat ok to sleep on. However we were all puzzled why the bus left just after midnight and stood to get into Thailand border for 3 hours. The bus driver told us that the border opens at 6am. So why leave 3 hours early? Also the joining instructions at the other side of the border were not clear. Although the driver did explain it, when we reached the other side of the border, some of us were lost and could not find the meeting point. The driver was good. I also found the air con was set very high and it was very cold in the bus.

Very pleasurable and comfortable ride on Giant Ibis. Seats roomy recline and has leg rest. Was given a breakfast roll and Nescaf canned coffee and lunch packet of fried rice, water was also provided. Was quite a delay at border because 2 passengers had to be left due to Visa issues but not the fault of bus company. Overall good trip would definitely recommend.

Great bus and service. The only issue was that the journey took longer than we thought (not 16:15 arrival but 17.45). Please factor this in if you're making connections.

The bus should leave at 7.45am. But we were waiting six people more. Two of them came 15 minute to late. After 25 minutes waiting, the bus left without the remaining four people. It should be clear that everyone who is not at the boarding time on the spot will miss the bus. We arrived in Bangkok at the end with a delay of 1.5 hours.

Great service! Left slightly late from Siem Reap, but only because some passengers were running late, so they decided to wait for them. Good to know that they look after their customers in that way. Really supportive staff all the way through the trip. Because of some political issues bus was not allowed near the boarder, but they quickly organised us a smaller vehicle and took us to the immigration point.

The aircon wasn't working for half the ride so I was literally sweating by just sitting on the bus. The conductor was however very nice and friendly and helpful.

The host on the bus explained everything clearly and with humour. The drivers changed at the border to ensure tiredness was not a safety issue. The only small issues were a phone connection that didn’t work and a bunch of mosquitoes that had boarded the bus before the paying passengers. The seats were firm, but not so hard as to be uncomfortable or cause aches and pain. We had a choice of two places to disembark and arrived close to our scheduled time. A worthwhile experience that I’d repeat.

The journey was comfortable staff provided helpful information especially when crossing the boarder into Thailand. A couple stops along the way for bathroom breaks and to just stretch your legs etc. Reason for 2 stars is because towards the end of the journey I began to feel unwell and asked for bus to stop however was told i am unable to get off but had to wait for the the bus to stop at the bus station which was around 25 minutes away. Even when told I was unwell they did nothing to try and help . As a result of this when I finally got off the bus I was violently sick without the chance of finding a restroom. This could have been avoided if the driver had let me off when I requested.

It was all good except that at the border, the whole bus had to wait for the 2 passengers who didn't have their visas ready. We arrived in Bangkok night time already.

The staff were friendly. Food was great. It's just that we arrived about 2-3hrs later because there were two passengers who had problems with their visas and we had to wait for them to process and finish it. Also luggage had a fragile sticker on it in bold red however it was still tossed in the compartment. When I told the staff to turn the luggage over on the other side, he just shrugged and continued texting. I just scooted in the compartment and turned it over myself.

Staff were exellent. The trip had mishaps, however these are traveller originated issues. A ten minute break that turns into a lot longer because some passengers are just silly is not the carriers problem. Issues with border VISA issuinng etc is also uncontroable, not the carriers is.sue. The carrier, Giant Ibis could encourage both border governments to better manage and streamline the many inefficiencies occuring. This causes negativeresponses ans traveller numbers to fall.

The organisational part of the travel was great, however, the driver’s way of driving was sometimes very questionable. The road’s are not great in Cambodia so speeding up while driving on a bumpy road is very unsafe.

It seemed like a journey of mishaps. The bus should depart at 7.45am from Siem Reap to Bangkok - we were advised a few days before from Giant Ibis that due to technical issues the bus would depart at 8.45am. We turned up and we eventually left at 10am because the bus that we were going on had technical issues. The staff were very good and tried to keep us informed. When we got to the border we had an extra hour wait due to visa issues from 3 of the travellers - they ended up not travelling from the border to Bangkok. Once again staff kept us informed. What was supposed to be 2 drop offs in Bangkok ended up only being 1 due to traffic congestion on the way in.
