Formerly known as Tbeng Meanchey, Preah Vihear is a province in Cambodia that attracts tourists who come to view the Preah Vihear Temple, a stunning temple set atop a 525-meter cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains of Cambodia and which has for a long time remained the bone of concession between Cambodia and Thailand. With the completion of a new road and bridge, Preah Vihear City is now well connected to Stung Treng, a small, sleepy town in Cambodia that boasts spectacular sunsets and is a convenient stop on the way east to the Cambodian–Laos border. The distance between both towns is approximately 150 km via NR64 which means that it will take you slightly over two hours to arrive in Stung Treng from Preah Vihear City. A ticket for this trip will cost you USD10.
