Phnom Penh Giant Ibis to Sihanoukville Destination Reviews

NG
far too many people in far too little space. The booked places didn't exist and everything was full of boxes. Nobody of the crew answered our questions, they just ignored us. The luggage room was used for other things (on arrival we could see that a motorbike and live fish had been stored there) and we first had to climb over all the boxes in the hallway and sleep three people in a bed, which is already tight for two people . There were no stops to go to the toilet and the departure was an hour too late. Disastrous trip not recommended even if it is cheap.

The vehicle was old and vibrated all the way there. Which I suspect was an alignment problem or a crooked wheel. We never went over 70. He was keeping it at 60 65 to save gas. He spent more time looking at his phone and emails. Then looking at the road. He had to put the brakes on twice very hard because he didn't notice the traffic in front of him. This is my fourth time using 12 go. And every time I use it in Cambodia. It is not good when I use it in thailand the vehicles are new clean, not like here in cambodia

FABULOUS. Great airconditioning. Comfortable seat. They gave us a free sandwich, free water, and free hot coffee. The seatbelts worked and there was a working toilet on board. On the way back when I was waiting for the return trip I dropped 20,000 riel. The staff picked it up and handed it to me. Super honest. The stop in Sihanoukville is a little way from the ferry station. But the Grab only cost 6,900 riel. Also the office next to Vet in Sihanoukville sells ferry fares. So if you want to go straight to the islands you can arrange it there. Very seamless.

The bus ride was good but they sold us tickets for the speedboat to get to the island. They told us that the boat would stop where our hotel was, so we bought the ticket with them. At the boat, we were told that the boat would not be stopping at our bay, but that water taxis would be waiting there. When we arrived, we realized no water taxis were nearby. Had to pay way too much to a local for him to take us to our hotel. So if you go to M'pai Bay, don't buy any speedboat ticket from them!
