We went from Phnom Penh to ho chi Minh city. Good transport with free bottle of water and croissant. There is a long 1hr break after you cross the Cambodian border. With the evisa we had to pay $2 but it's was very straight forward crossing the border. The full journey took about 8 hours. Leaving at 9.50 and arriving after 17.30.

I dont want to give any star at all Trip date: Nov 9, 2019 Route: Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh ● I booked 6AM trip but upon arrival they said i was booked a 7AM trip instead ● The bus operator cannot help us at all ● 12GOASIA agent opens only at 10am so we cannot talk to anyone ● 12GOASIA doesnt have 24/7 assistance ● The bus arrived late and left late ● Driver and the person collecting passwort dont speak english and they shout something we cant understand so were left guessing ● The bus collected local passengers along the way ● The bus moves slowly, aside from PNH doesnt have a highway, it was so traffic as the bus kept avoiding motorcycles ● The Phnom penh border exit is fast ● Vietnam border is a hassle. We dont know what to do aside from waiting. Spent atleast an hour here. SUPER DISORGANIZE IMMIGRATION. ● We arrive at ho chin minh around 4PM ● The trip took 9 LONG HOURS ●12GOASIA price is super overprice as people who both there only paid half of the total i paid. And i get worst service and wrong trip time. No food. No assistance at all.

More clarified information before the border would be nice. Wifi password was not mentioned or available. Air conditioning was a bit too warm. Overall very smooth and easy trip.

Left 15 minutes late as the bus wasn't in. Arrived nearly 90 minutes late. Border crossing was smooth and there is a good duty free shop.

Things you should know: you have to pay a $2 fee to have your visa processed by the rep on the bus, this means the entire bus load passes through quickly as one big group. When you cross the Cambodian border they will take your passport, visa and the $2 from you, go off and sort the paperwork out for the entire group, meanwhile you have about 20mins in a duty free store to get lunch/bathroom/browse the shops. When you get back on the bus and drive the 100m to the Vietnam border, you have to get off and the rep will meet you inside with your passports which have already been checked, so all you have to do is scan your luggage and walk through with very limited waiting time. They are very efficient and trustworthy, so if you know what's happening you have no need to feel wary about giving over your passport. Bus is comfy, has WiFi and AC and you get a water and pastry.

The bus itself was awesome but the staff needs some improvements. They did warn me that this company is a local bus and I shouldn’t expect any VIP treatments but come on, a little information about the border and when we should eat and how long we stop at some places in basic english were not some hard things to provide right?

Look lets be honest. All buses are late particularly in Asia, but at least they make it a nicer experience with in bus chargers, water, pastries and a bit of comfort. The guy looked after all the border crossing headaches and it was just a nice bus trip. Well recommended

Friendly staff, bus left a couple minutes late but otherwise no problems, wifi on the bus aswel as pastry and water provides. No issue with using EVisa to cross border into vietnam, had to pay just additional $2 for "police fees" but process very smooth. A good bit late arriving to HCM but I think that was mainly due to rush hour traffic and a slight underestimation of transit time.

I booked a ticket for Ho Chi Minh City on 3rd September from Phnom Penh at least 2 weeks before that. The ticket was confirmed and I received an email. I reached 20 minutes prior to the departure time. However, the customer service agent said that I don't have a booking for today as I called Giant Ibis 1 day before and changed my booking. I advised that I haven't done that. They didn't accept it and said that maybe my friend called on my behalf. First of all, I was traveling alone. Secondly, I gave them my email address while booking, and my New Zealand's phone number which was wasn't working when I was in Phnom penh. I told this to them but still they didn't accept it. The customer service agent had to ask her management, and they replied the same. After 15-20 minutes of hassle, they allotted me a seat anyhow. My question is, who called and changed the booking on my behalf. Is it Giant Ibis's fault or 12go Asia's? When I was making this booking, my bank rejected this transaction as they advised me that they have received a lot of fraud cases against the vendor (12go Asia). I requested them to go ahead and approve the transaction and so they did. I believe that it was 12go Asia's fault, but I will never know this. Secondly, I had an Evisa for vietnam. Land port entry to Vietnam through an Evisa is only allowed from Moc Bai Landport if you are traveling from Phnom Penh (source - wikipedia and Vietnam's immigration website). However, Giant Ibis's driver asked for extra $2 to process. This info is not mentioned in giant Ibis's website at all. They have mentioned that extra $5 will be taken from the passenger if they want Visa on Arrival plus the Visa Fee. I told this to the driver but he replied "no no. I do it every day. It is for immigration." And he will do it for me. Otherwise, I will have to do it and I will not get time for lunch. I asked if he is asking this money for himself. He raised his voice and got a little aggressive and replied in broken english which I couldn't understand. I knew that he can speak well but he was trying to confuse me. Luckily I had about $9 with me and I gave him $2 anyways because I didn't want to take any risk. And I am not going to lose anything by $2. I asked him if he is going to give me any receipt for this, but he denied it. After half an hour, he gave our passports back. At the immigration office at the border, he went to the officers and got our Passports stamped. I think this was the only good thing in this journey that happened quickly and without any hassle. I reached Ho chi min at about 3pm. Just an advice : Book ticket from giant ibis's office directly or their website. If you have an evisa, carry some extra money.

The driving was ok and the beds were fine but the bus is old so you can feel all holes on the road at all times. The staff were not helpful for anything from immigration to arrival time to cleaning the beds during passenger change. One person even almost missed Phnom Penh since she was sleeping and nobody warned her about being in Phnom Penh. So conclusion is not as bad as I have read in other reviews but also not good enough.
