Passenger reviews out of total 4,355 passengers who traveled with us on this route.

At 12Go our operators offer three types of service:

Cheap, Fast, Good - but you can usually pick only two of them!
Cheap & Fast won’t be Good. (e.g. buses from/to Khao San Road, local buses or 3rd class trains)
Cheap & Good won’t be Fast. (e.g. VIP trains in Thailand)
Fast & Good won’t be Cheap. (e.g. private limousine services, or VIP24 buses vs Express buses)

Make your choice! Please remember that while we are closely monitoring the services, we are still an agency marketplace. That means we focus on ticketing services and route availability & coverage rather than on the factual seat reclining angle you will get on the bus today.

Very nice driver. Didn’t speak much English but my wife is Thai so it was fine. We made it from Phitsanoluk to Chiang Mai in 6 hrs with 2 stops. Not bad. Honestly we did find out from other locals that we could hired someone ourselves to do it for half the price but we weren’t too sure about that before we booked. Still it was fine and we were very happy with the service provided.

train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways
★★☆☆☆
Took the 2nd class sleeper train (red beds). The train was pretty clean. AC made it VERY cold and uncomfortable. I actually got sick after because it was so freezing and the blanket was the thickness of a towel. Beds are as hard as anywhere in Thailand (very hard). The lights never went out, so bring an eye mask. Light shines in your face on the upper bank. Coffee was awful and to our surprise 60 baht (lady made it seem complimentary).

Office was quite easy to find next to Railway Station in Bangkok. Train a little late but not busy. So plenty of room for luggage. Limited stops for Express so not too long a trip. A/C worked almost too well so bring a jumper. Free meal for lunch but not great so suggest you bring something along you like to eat.

The tickets were waiting for us at the Ticket Booth, not the Parcel office. It was ok but may cause confusion for other non-Thai speaking travelers. There were several types of bugs on floor and walls of train, likely small roaches. Train was on time.

The bus station and journey experience was fine and everything went to plan. Good value means of travel. It would be helpful if travel info at bus station was also in English/ Western script as Thai script is unfathomable.

Train to Chiang Mai was a good experience. I do wish the cabin lights could be dimmed a little at night for better sleep though. Bathrooms and cabins very clean too. Nice affordable way to travel.

Very pleasant traveling in the nighttrain. The lower bed was just long enough for my lenght 1.76 and not to hard. If you bring earplugs and a sleepmask you really can sleep the biggest hours of your trip.

The train was very clean and the toilets also. But it was very light, because the lights are on the whole night. Also the breakfast in the morning was not good and very expensive! They don't tell you that you have to pay for it, so we assumed that breakfast was a free service. Total price of the train was also very expensive.
