How to get from Ozamiz to Cebu
If you are traveling from Ozamiz to Cebu, you can choose to take either a ferry or a flight. However, if you are short on time, taking a flight is your best bet. Otherwise, a ferry is a good and affordable option.

Both 2Go and Cokaliong Shipping Lines also offer other choices for ferry seats and berths including beds in air-conditioned rooms. If you’re pressed for time, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines both have direct and connecting flights that travel from Ozamiz to Manila and then finally, Cebu. The more affordable flight option is to take a direct flight on either airline, which will cost roughly PHP 1,500 per person one way.
Ferries From Ozamiz To Cebu
Two major shipping lines which serve the route between Ozamis and Cebu are 2Go and Cokaliong Shipping Lines.
The St. Francis Xavier vessel of 2Go has fares starting at PHP 655. However, Cokaliong Shipping Lines’ cheapest seat comes at PHP 910 although they have a large selection of room types available including air-conditioned suite rooms. Cokaliong Shipping Lines travels from Ozamiz to Cebu aboard the M/V Filipinas Iligan as well as the M/V Filipinas Surigao del Norte, where rooms can cost as much as PHP 6,600 for large state rooms.

It takes 8 hours to travel from Ozamiz to Cebu with 2Go ferries. There’s not much of a big difference between the service offered by 2Go and Cokaliong Shipping Lines, but the latter takes longer – 9 ½ hours roughly.
2Go departs Ozamiz every Saturday at 1 AM and Wednesday at 8:30 AM, while Cokaliong Shipping Lines leaves Ozamiz every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 PM.
General notes
It is generally rare for a ferry operator to cancel a trip, but in the event of bad weather you may need to wait a day or two.
Currently, there are no fast boat options to take you from Ozamiz to Cebu by sea.
Passengers have the option of booking a more comfortable state room with air conditioning, or if you’re on a budget, you can stay on a breezy deck bunk bed which is shared with other passengers.
2Go ferries are usually the more popular option since they are known for having more amenities on board including karaoke rooms, convenience stores, a salon, and various food outlets. We recommend booking a cozy air-conditioned room with either ferry operator for maximum comfort, while reducing the risk for nausea or seasickness.
Flights From Ozamiz to Cebu
Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific are the only two airlines that currently fly direct from Ozamiz to Cebu direct. There isn’t much of a huge fare difference when booking this route wth either of them. However, Cebu Pacific often announces promotional seat sales and if you are buying much in advance, you can grab a really good deal. Note that Philippine Airlines’ most affordable seats don’t come with any free luggage. There is always the option of purchasing add-on luggage space with either airline when booking your flight online.
It takes about an hour to fly direct from Ozamiz to Cebu on either airline. If flying via Manila, expect to travel for over three hours provided you get the best connection possible. Travelling via Manila gives you more flexibility as Manila is well connected with Cebu with over 2 dozen flights.
