Mysore to Bangalore Destination Reviews

Train #12613 CC - AC Chair Class, Indian Railways, Feb 22, 2020
The Air Con In AC1 was too cold - probably set around 18-20C. As a result we moved to the second class carriage for some of the journey to enjoy the lovely warmth. The glass windows in AC1 where so dirty and scratched that you could not enjoy the view. The second class have open barred windows (I.e. no glass). AC1 = 500 Rs / SC = 75Rs.
Train #12613 2S - Second Sitting Class, Indian Railways, Mar 6, 2019
Biggest shock was to discover that 83% of the cost of this trip was the Booking Fee charged by 12goasia Certainly didn't see that explained or shown in the breakdown at the time of purchase! That is quite a ripoff and something we've never experienced before. Since then we've discovered that you can get train tickets at any major railway station in India for other sectors just by lining up at a Booking Counter without any of the hassles of booking online that is common in India and/or the exorbitant fees charged by websites like 12goasia. Certainly be doing that in the future. Another option is travel offices and sometimes Western Union shopfronts.
