Passenger reviews out of total 943 passengers traveled with us on this route

At 12Go our operators offer three types of service:

Cheap, Fast, Good - but you can usually pick only two of them!
Cheap & Fast won’t be Good. (e.g. buses from/to Khao San Road, local buses or 3rd class trains)
Cheap & Good won’t be Fast. (e.g. VIP trains in Thailand)
Fast & Good won’t be Cheap. (e.g. private limousine services, or VIP24 buses vs Express buses)

Make your choice! Please remember that though we are closely monitoring services, we are still an agency marketplace - meaning we focus on ticketing service and route availability / coverage rather than on factual seat recline angle you got today ^_^

★★☆☆☆ Oct 17, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Too many people in carraige. 4 beds, but we ended up with 6 people in the end. We booked first class because the beds would be soft but they weren't. Doubtfull cleanliness. Next time i take the plane.
★★★☆☆ Oct 16, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
It really what we expected.. Could have been an amazing journey but grubby train and bedsheets did not really do it for us. Staff on train were very friendly and arrived on time.
★★★☆☆ Oct 15, 2017 (train #SE5 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Had our train times changed a couple of times which was a bit of a pain.. Overall The booking process which pretty muddled, even when we got given a new time the following morning. The email had incorrect departure times, and the PDF also had the incorrect time on it. Train was ok.. Not too clean. Pretty old and rickerty, my bed had been slept in and sheets had not been changed. Found a toothpick and food remenents in bed. 3 of the other beds we booked out of 5.. Had th4 same problem. Food was pretty good, friendly helpful staff, and looks like we will get there on time. Would pay more to have better room, clean sheets, shower in cabin etc etc. As although the journey is stunning.. I just feel a little grubby...

★★☆☆☆ Sep 18, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Even if I was in fist class it was full of big beatles running over my bed. Sheet and pillow had stains on it. The aircon was too strong, but no way to lower it. The light of my bed was broken. The train departed late and arrived late. I paid an extra fee for priority support but couldn't find any information about what it consisted in. If I had to redo the trip, i would proably consider a night bus or a flight.
★★★★☆ Sep 3, 2017 (train #SE1 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
We had a short visit to Nha Trang from Saigon earlier this week and this was the first time we had used the night train. It is a very cheap way to travel so not luxurious. However, it enables you to save on hotel bills and to make the most of your daytime in each city/resort. We booked the SE1 which is a small cabin with two sets of bunk beds, so my friend and I were sharing with two strangers both on our trip up and back. The sheets were fresh and clean, although the cover supplied wasn't quite so fresh but we weren't too worried about that as we slept in our clothes given we were sharing with strangers. Each bed has a private light and although the mattresses are a bit on the firm side, they are reasonably comfortable. The main downsides to our trip were the noise from the track/train as it did rattle quite a bit and the toilets which are not to the standard we expect in Europe. Having said that, the trip was still comfortable, on line booking was simple and quick and both trains left and arrived at the stated times. We viewed this as a bit of an adventure, not knowing what to expect and would definitely travel this way again if the opportunity arises.
★★★☆☆ Sep 2, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Very sneaky of you guys to include the most expensive insurance at the top of the page and not making it obvious that this is optional and changeable at the BOTTOM of the pAge. Bunch of wankers. Train was fine, clean. 1st class is supposed to have soft beds but they look exactly the same as they do in 2nd class. Save yourself the money and go 2nd class. Wait no, save yourself the money and buy at the station for half the price!
★★★★☆ Aug 21, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
The sleeper carriage was clean and comfortable. I had a 20 hr journey and really enjoyed it, lots of cool scenery to view. I met lots of interesting people, was able to sleep pretty well, and enjoyed the food that was brought around. The toilet was clean until the end of the journey, so perhaps a bit of attention to it after the night would be good. Thoroughly recommend this service.

There was no WiFi. The VIP of Sapaly train was mutch better.

★★★☆☆ Jul 31, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Don't expect Western Train travel. We knew it would be different and that was the allure as have done Malaysia-Singapore years ago. Found Staff at Da Nang station and one young girl on our carriage very abrupt, grumpy and didn't smile at all. Be aware that most sleepers will have families with young children in your carriage. Any number up to 5 on the bottom bunks. Not a problem really but you won't have access to sit on the bottom bunks, we stood sat in the hallway. "soft" bunks very hard and thin mattress. Train smooth in some sections but sometimes very jumpy and door rattles alnight so be prepared for staggered sleep.Smokers smoke comes through the AC in carriage at times. Reasonable trip but remember you're in Vietnam so put it down as an experiential. PS If you don't use a bidet, bring few sheets toilet paper.
★★★★☆ Jul 20, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
About 12go.asia- amaxing! So far all trips booked through them went without a hitch! Fast, easy, reliable! About the Vietnam Railway: 1st class "Soft" beds are still quite hard, so I can't imagine how hard "hard" beds in 2nd class are... be careful when choosing beds- top beds are super close to AC so it's freezing!
★★★★★ Jul 18, 2017 (avia Economy, VietJet Air) :
Travelled with Skyboss deal and I cannot speak highly enough about the treatment we got from the staff at Vietjet. Excellent from start to finish! Great job.
★★★☆☆ Jul 16, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Unfortunely the toilets were not clean and one was closed to house some chickens and a dog. 2 people were allowed to sleep in the walkway, otherwise it was ok.
★★★☆☆ Jul 12, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
An experience! We already took a 2nd class sleeper the 2-3 hours from Hue to DaNang so had some experience. That was fine and long enough really and good for sightseeing. Obviously on sleeper it's dark after early sunset. Temperature was fine. Beds quite hard-soft bag recommended to prop up pillow. More room as only 4 bunks compared to 2nd class. Noisy, rattling door, engine and talking from corridor until late night eve. Very bumpy ride too! Different experience from UK sleepers for sure. That said, local passengers friendly and helpful. We chatted, shared food and they sorted us a taxi at HCMC! Each coach seems to have a 'guard' and toilets varied from nearly overflowing squat type to better but not great standard loo.
★★★☆☆ May 28, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
The journey was sufficient enough, I arrived in Saigon on time and the compartments were clean. However, there is NO WIFI (on the SE3), despite what you may read online. Also, it is a very noisy journey, which, if you are a light sleeper, will make it hard to fall asleep.
★★★☆☆ Apr 3, 2017 (avia Economy, VietJet Air) :
All ok and easy to pay through asia123 but we were two passengers and they only put 1 piece of luggage for 15kg. Luckily we noticed in plenty of time and added another 20kg bag on which was reasonable price. Be temped to go direct next time to Vietairjet
★★☆☆☆ Mar 13, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper 4x, Violette Express Train) :
Had trouble getting our berth as others have but staff sorted it eventually. A very noisy and uncomfortable ride, beds hard and on bottom berth you could here all the track noise and the bed was shaking so much that at times I had to hold on for fear of falling out. Will never travel on a Vietnamese train again.
★★★★☆ Mar 2, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper 4x, Violette Express Train) :
Just a bottle of water was the difference. Wat did I pay 2 million Dong for??
★★☆☆☆ Feb 14, 2017 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper 4x, Violette Express Train) :
I had booked a VIP soft berth in violette cart. But when i got on the train i was informed that something was wrong with my booking and they did not have room for me, so i was placed on a hard berth for 17 hours.
★★★☆☆ Jan 31, 2017 (train #D3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
The train was slightly late leaving Da Nang but very late (4+ hours) arriving in Saigon. Bed linen was dirty and we had several small cockroaches in the compartment just on bedtime - a bit off-putting. The soft bunks were slightly better than the hard 6 berth compartment bunks but still not wonderfully comfortable. No announcements for foreigners as to arrival on how late the train was going to be. The food vendors on the train had enough to keep us satisfied without being overcharged.
★★☆☆☆ Jan 27, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
On the plus side the train arrived absolutely on time. The journey however will not linger pleasurably in my memories of Vietnam. Cuisine might be too flowery a word to describe the standard of catering en route. Toilets? I'm not even going there. Next time? I fly!!
★★☆☆☆ Jan 8, 2017 (train #SE21 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
One word; dirty!
★★★☆☆ Dec 29, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Booking process was easy enough, especially with the option to print our boarding passes before the trip. However, Thailand Baht was charged to my card, instead of the currency in the country I was booking from or even USD, as reflected on the website. Sleeper beds were comfortable, but bring something warm as it can get very cold during the trip. Train toilets were pretty gross further into the trip as both men and women share the same toilet. But don't let this deter you, as the train is really an experience and it will allow you to see the sights of Vietnam you will not normally see.
★★★★☆ Dec 21, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
The experience of riding the train is worth 5 stars, but the comfort only 2.
★★★★★ Dec 15, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
An amazing train trip. I slept through the night. All other passengers were friendly and accommodating. Bedding was completely fine and toilet was a public transport toilet. Views were incredible.
★★★☆☆ Dec 13, 2016 (train #SE1 VIP Sleeper 4x, Violette Express Train) :
Late, dirty, loud and crowded
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Great experience
★★★☆☆ Nov 20, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper 4x, Violette Express Train) :
As previous good train trip just need to be able to get Carriage and birth number printed clearly in English and local language to avoid confusion when boarding
★★★★☆ Oct 22, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Amazing experience! Thoroughly recommended. Wide variety of food passes regularly, sold from trolleys. Stale bedding is only downside. Not routinely changed between passengers along the route. Thin silk sleeping bags are readily and cheaply available in local shops and fold very small. Worth investing in one for better hygiene.
★★★☆☆ Sep 25, 2016 (train #SE7 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
Easy to book. Train as expected - punctual if not massively comfortable. A good way to meet fellow travellers as well as locals. Even for "1st class" it's advisable to be fairly self sufficient - take food, a sleeping bag liner, loo roll and hand sanitiser to ensure comfort.
★★☆☆☆ Jun 23, 2016 (train #SE3 VIP Sleeper, Vietnam Railways) :
- Beds were filthy and covered in hair. - Air conditioning was absolutely freezing. - Broken door to our sleeper berth...so it had to be forced open everytime some needed to leave to use the bathroom. - Train was delayed by 30mins on arrival and then terminated early near the end of the journey...causing us to get off, take a replacement bus service to another train station to catch another train, in which we were seated in chairs with almost no leg room. No one helped or advised us of which stops we were at until everyone else was off the train. - Very uncomfortable and stressful journey. - Horrible in comparison to our train journey Hanoi to Da Nang that we took last week.
