From Cebu City the ferry operators use different piers (they are numbered one to four) and are all adjacent to each other. The easiest way to get to the ferry terminal is to tell your taxi driver to take you to the Dumaguete ferry terminal.

The fastest ferry is operated by Weesam Express, it takes just over 3 hours. Ocean Fast Ferries (OceanJet) also use fast boats taking 3hr 40 minutes or 5 hours depending on the type of craft. Ferries used by George and Peter Lines, and Cokaliong Shipping Lines take 6 hours.
Weesam Express departs from pier 4 at 7.30am and arrives at Dumaguete at 10.45am.
Ocean Fast Ferries (OceanJet) leave from pier 1 at 6am, arriving at 9.40am and a 3.35pm departure that arrives at 7.25pm.
Cokaliong Shipping lines has two departures each day from pier 1, its noon departure arrives at 6pm while its 7pm departure arrives into Dumaguete at 1am the following morning.
George and Peter Lines have just two sailings each week between the two destinations leaving from pier 2 at 10pm on Sunday and Thursday, arriving 6 hours later.

Expect to pay between 700 PHP and 900 PHP depending on the type of the vessel, cabin class and the departure time.

How to get from Cebu City to Dumaguete by bus
Buses in Cebu depart from the Southbound Bus Terminal and arrive at the Ceres Bus Terminal in Dumaguete. There is just one bus operator (Ceres Liner) that serves the direct route although several others offer buses to Liloan Ferry Terminal.
How many direct bus departures a day are there?
There are seven direct buses each day with the first one departing at 6am, the departure time of the last bus is 6pm.
Buses to the ferry terminal are more frequent from 4am at 30 minute intervals although they may not be air-conditioned.

The direct bus takes around 6 hours. The bus needs to take the ferry from Liloan to Santander.
Is ferry price included into the bus ticket?
It depends. On the direct bus it is included in the cost of your ticket.
Should you take a different bus to Liloan, then you will have to pay it separately. From Liloan, you then need to take a ferry then a jeepney into Dumaguete city. The ferry and jeepney will each take around 30 minutes.
How much does it cost to get from Cebu City to Dumaguete by bus?
The cost of the direct bus is about 450 PHP. In case with travelling via Liloan, the total expenses will be more or less the same: around 350 PHP for the bus ticket, then another 70 PHP for the ferry and then at least 10 PHP into Dumaguete using a jeepney.
Bus travel tips
It is advisable to take the direct bus as it makes for an easier journey.
Take enough snacks with you, particularly water as this may be in short supply on route. There are some stops on the way and you will be pestered by hawkers.
On the route to Dumaguete, sit on the left side (driver’s side) for views of the sea. On the other side of the bus you get good views looking inland.

From Cebu you will fly from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and arrive at Sibulan Airport which is close to Dumaguete city.
How to get to the Mactacan-Cebu Airport
From Cebu City you can take a bus to the airport, it costs 40 PHP from the city centre with buses operating at 20 minute intervals from 6am until 9pm. Taxis operate by meters with no set prices for the airport.
How to get from Dumaguete airport to the city?
The main form of transport once you arrive in Dumaguete is the motorised tricycle which can accommodate up to 8 people. Jeepneys are also available.
