We made the trip from Cairo to Aswan by El Eman Jet bus. In theory the trip lasted 10 hours, from 20:30 to 6:30+1. It took 18 hours! The bus passed through every village in Egypt between Cairo and Aswan and stopped in some, even though neither the agency nor the ticket indicated that there would be stops along the way. Add to that the bad state of the roads and that they are full of potholes, and the trip lasted as long as it lasted. It didn't affect us much as the cruise from Aswan to Luxor started in the afternoon and gave us time to get to the ship. The experience itself is not so bad depending on how you look at it, if you go just in time do not do it, but otherwise you will see the villages and the day to day life of the Egyptians outside the big cities, I was surprised by this vision. The bus is relatively comfortable, safe and everyone's luggage is marked and numbered so it is impossible to be robbed without the complicity of the driver. Of course, it is very cold, take a coat or blanket to throw over you. It is a bit difficult to find the bus stop in Cairo, behind the Ramses II train station is the Ahmed Helmy station, as the El Eman Jet shop and the bus departure point are further back, outside the bus station. Ask the locals. Good luck, if you dare!
