How to get from Batangas to Romblon

For travelers going from Batangas to Romblon there are ferry boats that service this route. The fastest way to get from Batangas to Romblon would be to take a direct ferry via 2Go, which departs from the Batangas port and arrives in Romblon. Alternatively, there is also the option of taking a ferry from Batangas to Caticlan, then taking a local ferry from Caticlan to Romblon. If your travel time is limited, the quickest method is also the cheapest and most convenient: taking a 2Go ferry from Batangas directly to Romblon.

The distance from Batangas to Romblon is about 200 km. The ferry traveling directly from Batangas to Romblon only takes 8 hours, while taking a ferry from Batangas to Caticlan takes 9 or 10 hours (depending on the ferry schedule). From the Caticlan jetty port, there is the option of catching another 2-hour 2Go ferry that goes directly to Odiongan, or taking a pump boat to Looc; both towns in Romblon.

2Go ferries traveling the Batangas to Romblon route cost from PHP 800 for the cheapest seats via the Super Value Class category; which are bunk beds shared with other travelers in a non-air-conditioned area. Ferries from Batangas to Romblon via Caticlan

If the schedule doesn’t suit yours, or you prefer to pass by Caticlan first, you can also take the 2Go ferry from Batangas to Caticlan which takes 9 or 10 hours depending on the ferry schedule.

Once you’re in the Caticlan jetty port, you can either spend a few days in and around Caticlan or immediately hail a pump boat to take you to Looc, Romblon. Alternatively, you can also catch the next 2Go ferry from Caticlan to Odiongan.

The St. Ignatius of Loyola departs Caticlan every Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 8AM and arrives in Odiongan at 10AM. The St. Anthony de Padua vessel departs every Tuesday at 8AM and also arrives in Odiongan at 10AM; for a total of just 2 hours from Caticlan to Romblon.

If you are able to catch a local pump boat upon arrival in Caticlan, your journey to Romblon should not take more than 10 hours. However, if you’re pressed for time, the best option is to just go directly from Batangas to Romblon, which only takes 8 hours all in all.

General notes

Ferry schedules from Batangas to Caticlan and Romblon are rarely ever cancelled, although the chances of this happening increases during the rainy season from June to October – after all, safety is everyone’s concern.

The 2Go ferries are comfortable but slow rides, and they are usually equipped with amenities to keep you entertained or relaxed during your journey. Private air-conditioned cabins are highly recommended for travelers vulnerable to seasickness.
