The lights were on during the night. If you have a upper bed, the light will shine right above your curtains.

The beds were comfortable & clean & the chap making them was super-efficient & friendly. Breakfast wasn’t great, wanted to cancel it 10 minutes after ordering (changed our minds) & told we couldn’t (hadn’t even paid yet!). Train doors didn’t always close at stations which was stressful & being ‘bumped’ out of our First Class cabin 2 months after booking/paying for it was really disappointing. All up it was an adventure & got us to where we wanted to be.

Train was an hour late so we had to hire a private taxi at an extortionate rate to barely make the last ferry of the night to Koh samui

If you want to save some money and get a train experience on the side, then this is the way to travel. We booked 1st class which is private room so it is easier to sleep. There is no extra comfort but enough to take a nap or proper sleep. Food is also reasonably priced and normal. Staff is friendly. If you have time and dont mind a long ride then go for it. Not bad at all.

Prima vervoersmiddel.

The train was really dirty. I didn’t sleep well, the maid was always like angry and I thought they will give us something to eat or at least something to buy but NOTHING!!! I won’t definitely repeat this!!! The worst train of my life.

The trains are comfortable, expect to be a little late on your arrival but there are people around to help with the connections. We expected a restaurant car, which there wasn’t, so have some food with just in case - it’s a long time to go hungry!

We had the cabin for 3 and then suddenly a young Thai biy was out in our cabin and we were ordered to switch off the lights and to close the doors that joined the cabin . We think that this boy didn't have a ticket and was a member of the family of the guard. We all stayed in the one cabin and his spoilt our journey

Transfers were fairly chaotic and got delivered to wrong ferry terminal. Thought would be easier as booked through one company but not so. Be ready to roll with it but can be challenging after 24 hours of travel
