Thai Airways has announced it is to shelve direct flights between Bangkok and Kota Kinabalu Airport. The Thai national carrier has posted a news update on its own website confirming subsidiary low cost carrier Thai Smile will stop flying between the two locations with effect from the 1 September.
Malaysia’s civil aviation bureau says plans are afoot to increase and adjust the taxes passengers pay at public airports in the country. MAVCOM’s (Malaysia Aviation Commission) proposals are being finalised and are due to be debated in parliament in two months time.
