At 12Go our operators offer three types of service:

Cheap, Fast, Good - but you can usually pick only two of them!
Cheap & Fast won’t be Good. (e.g. buses from/to Khao San Road, local buses or 3rd class trains)
Cheap & Good won’t be Fast. (e.g. VIP trains in Thailand)
Fast & Good won’t be Cheap. (e.g. private limousine services, or VIP24 buses vs Express buses)

Make your choice! Please remember that though we are closely monitoring services, we are still an agency marketplace - meaning we focus on ticketing service and route availability / coverage rather than on factual seat recline angle you got today ^_^

★★★★★ Mar 29, 2017 (train #31 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
Very cozy and relaxing. Express train was 3 months old, all clean and in perfect order. Constant information during the trip! Shower on board with liquid body soap and shampoo, no towels.

Everything OK but its not clear were is the agency Join Travel in Hat Yai...I need to ask in the information station and they help me. All the trip was vary good.
★★★☆☆ Mar 17, 2017 (train #37 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
You never quite know what you are going to get with trains in Thailand (well i suppose you can know but im not smart enough to crack the code yet). My trip from Chiang Mai to Phitsanlok in 2nd class sleeper was on a new (Chinese-built) train which was beautiful clean and quiet and comfortable. I thought booking a 1st class would be even better. I've done the daytime service from CM to P.Lok and P.lot to Bangkok before and its fine for a day trip on the "vintage" trains (old Japanese rolling stock i think) even though bathrooms and amenities are sorta of lacking. In this case, the sleeper compartment for the 14 hour ride was a little bit dicey (i'm no rookie long train rides), the compartments are old and dirty, with poor ventilation and old rattly ACs. Once my compartment companion joined, we were each stuck with other's smells in the small space. The sink sorta worked and there was a shower down the hall in the same cubicle as the nasty toilet with no where to hang your clothes or towel. Again, not the end of the world but after rushing through humid Bangkok to pick up ticket and board the train, its decent to freshen up in a non-stinky way. There were no amenities (food, lounge car) aside from a bottle of water. Also, the train staff seem to let folks on board who forced way into cabin and demanding money for pre-made food and even shoving beers into my bag and then demanding payment. I dealt with it but not a great way to start the trip. The attendant was helpful enough and did the whole bed switcheroo when my compartment companion (a Buddhist monk with a suitcase of cigarettes) decided it was a good time. I slept fine (love sleeping on trains) with help of eye mask, ear plugs and lavender oil to mask the sweaty smell. But ended up with a cold the next day from the uncleanliness despite my best efforts. The scenery before dark gives you a glimpse into some Thailand most don't see. Whole communities of people living track side in rather tough conditions. I love trains but wouldn't do this one again. BUT i would ride the newer trains' 2nd class cars anytime.

We travelled Bangkok to Hat Yai. 12go service very good tickets were ready for collection would use this service again. Train comfortable but hot food limited. Train facilities immaculate and clean and arrived on time. Will book again.
★★★★★ Mar 4, 2017 (train #37 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
It was a very comfortable journey for me. Above my expectation for a 2nd class sleeper coach. The service was very good, welcoming and great.

★★★★★ Jan 4, 2017 (train #37 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
I was very impressed by the professional service that I received from the 12 Go Asia website and from your staff in Bangkok. I strongly recomend that you request a LOWER BERTH as though a bit more expensive it has much more room than an upper bunk, plus you can see out of the window, which you cannot from above. Also, request a Lower Berth in the MIDDLE of the carriage, away from the clunking of the sliding doors at each end of the carriage and also away from any possible "Pongs" from the Loo's ! The Thai railway network is old so though your train will leave on time, do NOT expect it to arrive on time. Regard it as being a bonus IF it arrives on time but do expect any overnight journey to arrive up to an hour late. This is quite common in Thailand.
★★★★☆ Jan 2, 2017 (train #169 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Good enough
★★★★★ Dec 31, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
It's fast and efficient. Brilliant!
★★★★★ Dec 30, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Office was entirely helpful in securing us some of the last tickets on the train for that day, after a few failed attempts at trying to find seats all the way to Malaysia. Would use this service again if I didn't have time to go to Hualamphong. Train itself was a new carriage and just fantastic.
★★★★★ Dec 28, 2016 (train #37 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
It was really easy to do and the girls in the office were very helpful. Thank you ????
★★★★★ Dec 28, 2016 (train #37 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :

★★★★★ Dec 20, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
The website is really clear about the train options between Bangkok and hat yai. It took me 2 minutes to get the ticket at the agency. Very practical, especially if you want to secure your trip and you are not staying in Bangkok for long.
★★★☆☆ Dec 19, 2016 (train #171 Class II Sleeper Fan, Thai Railways) :
i was wondering my ticket online, when i purchased it i was charged 855 but when i got the ticket it was priced 605? will i get the diffirence? other than that the experience wasnt too bad, i wish there waa a better way of getting the ticket, it was like an obstacle getting to your office all the way to the station.thanks
★★★★☆ Dec 4, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Brand new sleeper coaches Chinese built and not too bad. At 179cm they were almost big enough to sleep on without much hassle. Bunk was far too hard and seating positions a bit upright but acceptable. Only complaint was the 21c the coach aircon was set at, far too cool in the middle of the night with only a light blanket. Great value for money just take something warm to wear when sitting and sleeping ☃️
★★★★☆ Nov 28, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Good service from 12Go Asia including good response from the support team to any queries by email and phone. Office near Hua Lamphong is easy to find and staff are friendly and professional. For a Malaysia-Thailand train trip, it is possible and fairly straightforward to buy tickets on your day of travel at either Padang Besar station (Malaysian border) or Hua Lamphong (Bangkok) rather than advance booking with 12Go (who can only offer tickets within Thailand - ie. Hat Yai to Bangkok). However, advance booking with them does provide some convenience. Be aware also that collection of tickets at the Hat Yai parcel office can be complicated by a language barrier. There was no recognition and a lot of confusion when I went to collect my ticket after getting off the train from Padang Besar. Be patient though; I got my ticket in the end!
★★★☆☆ Nov 23, 2016 (train #169 Class II Sleeper Fan, Thai Railways) :
Overall it's not a bad trip. Though I think the sleeper class train with AC will be better. Good call to take the upper berth. And I hope the coach attendant could be nicer a bit.
★★★★★ Nov 15, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Good service. Got a cheaper seat and refunded the difference. Was not able to book padang besar online. Booked hat yai and changed at the s.r.t. office in the station for 15B. When collecting from 12go office, Exit 1 from MRT is better than crossing the busy roads outside the main station. No ticket needed to use the MRT subway to cross the road. The journey was good but very little sleep due to the light and noise levels. Double eye mask and industrial ear defenders recommended. Great dinner with vegetarian option. Lacklustre breakfast but I was hungry. Take water or order extra with the food as the included drinks are tiny. Border crossing into Malaysia was smooth and fast. If going to butterworth be aware the kommuter train takes about 2 hours and has no toilet or food.

Train was on time arriving in Hat Yai. Please let people know who book A first class room to Hat Yai that they can add on a ride to the Padang Besar border for only a few baht paid to the conductor of the second Class continuation train by showing your original ticket. There are hourly trains to Butterwoth from Padang Besar are not shown on the 12go.asia website. This is much cheaper and more reliable plan to use the the bus or van alternative from Hat Yai to Butterworth. Note for seniors or persons with heavy luggage, there is a free taxi from the Butterwoth railway station to the Penang Ferry slip which eliminates several flights of stairs for Which there is no lift. Count on one hour from arrival at the Penang Ferry until arrival at train side for either heading back to Thailand Or a south to Kl.

The staff of 12AsiaGo were really helpful and nice. I had a very comfortable time travelling by train. I took cheap 171 train and my journey started on time and reach 5 minutes early. They had people selling food in train every 90 minutes. I will definitely will use this service again. Thank you.

the ticket reservation is smooth, they even send me email & sms when my reservation is fully booked and give me good option. the collection of ticket at their office is smooth and efficient.
★★★★★ Jul 16, 2016 (train #37 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Travelled overnight from Bangkok to Hat Yai. Left at 1510 SHARP, but arrived an hour later than expected. (Possibly due to overnight weather? Dunno.) The ride itself was basic. Don't expect a lot of leg room when your seated, however the bed was fine. Fan kept it from getting hot. The food in the back was hit or miss. I had a decent Thai dinner, but the breakfast sandwiches were not great, and they didn't have French fries, so they have me slices apples and gross sausages instead. 3/5
★★★★★ Jun 14, 2016 (train #31 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Very comfortable trip and excellent service from staff.Lower bunk very comfortable and meals very tasty. Noise from the compressor under carriage was annoying and caused lack of sleep. Service from 12Go very good,I was even escorted to the office from the Hua Lamphong ticket counter, great customer service. Thanks 12Go.

5 star service from 12go. VIP Sleeper Train is what it is! It's comfortable enough to get some sleep. Clean sheets and pillow cases but the trains are old so don't expect too much!

★★★☆☆ Aug 3, 2015 (train #31 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
We collected our tickets at Hualamphong without difficulty but the ticket was issued incorrectly as a child's ticket so I had to go to the ticket counter to fix the issue and pay the difference. In hindsight, we should have just bought the tickets ourselves and saved ourselves 600THB (15 euros) since it is low season and the train was not full.

Nice trip and good service. Good in the cabine on time. Grindkuil staff
