The train journey was pretty uneventful, although we did get into Hua Hin a little late, but that was to be expected on such a long journey. It would have been handy to know that food, drinks and snacks were included in the ticket price, as I purposely bought all that before I got on the train. I’m not sure if this is normal practice for Thai trains or just this service, as it was the first cross-country train I’d been on.

Buying the ticket was ok but when we got on the train we had to sit in different positions. I really don’t understand that. If I buy 2 tickets on line for me and my wife I expect to be sitting next to her, not 10 places behind. How does that work out 🤷‍♂️. Your buying 2 tickets at the same time, surely people must book them together. Apart from that it was ok.

We booked 2 beds and as a couple would have liked a bed upstairs and a bed downstairs. After consultation with the staff on board, we got two opposite beds.
